We needed a proper breakand this place was just what we hoped for. Set in a lovely rural spot with a friendly local community nearby, it felt peaceful and perfect. The refurbishment was tastefully done, keeping the charm of the period features but adding all the modern touches we could ask for. The view was stunningand the hot tub was a real treat, even in late September. Watching the farmer’s sheep pass by the yard was adorable - such a cute moment we won’t forget!

We really wanted a chilled-out break and this place delivered. The cottage had everything we needed and felt super cosy. We did hit a snag with the oil boiler on arrival, but props to the owner - it was fixed within half an hour. Definitely recommend for a relaxing stay!

We loved this place! The location is stunningand the cottage itself is really spacious, with lovely steps connecting the kitchen, dining area, hallwayand lounge. The utility room with a sink, washing machineand shower was handy. The towels were super softand there were towels for the hot tub too. The kitchen had everything we neededand having two fridges with small freezers was a bonus. The enclosed garden and gated patio made it safe for our kids and pets. The hot tub with views was the cherry on top!

It’s perfect whether you're a family, couple, or just a pair of friends. The hot tub’s a winner once you get the fire going - big enough for four adults and super easy to set up. We had a lovely stay at the cottage! It’s super cosy and tucked away in a peaceful spot, yet still close enough to explore North Wales’ attractions. The hot tub was perfect for unwinding after a busy day out, whether in the hills or on the water. There are some cracking pubs nearby and a handy post office that surprisingly stocks almost everything you might forget. We’d definitely recommend this place to family and friends. Just wish we’d stayed longer this time - we’ll be back!

We stayed at this lovely place in a super peaceful spot. The views really are stunningand we couldn’t get enough of the garden and hot tub - absolute highlights! The cottage was spotless and well-equipped, with everything we needed. We appreciated the thoughtful layout and charming decor, especially the open fire in the lounge - perfect for cosy nights. The nearby village of Corwen has a handy Nisa shop and some great pubs. It’s a perfect base for exploring Llandudno, Betws-y-Coedand Conwy. Hoping to come back soon!

We had such a lovely stay at this countryside cottage! The house is full of charm and characterand the kids absolutely adored the wood-fired hot tub - they loved the smell of campfire while relaxing. The owners were thoughtful, leaving plenty of wood and fluffy towels, which was much appreciated. Nearby, we enjoyed some great walks up the mountain behind the propertyand the neighbour was really friendly. All in all, a perfect spot for a peaceful, relaxing break - we’d definitely come back!

Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in North Wales and is an excellent place to spend the day as a family. The Wharf is situated in the peaceful market town of Llangollen - now part of a World Heritage Site. Horse Drawn Boat Trips are available along the feeder for the main canal and are a unique way to explore the area. Motorised Aqueduct Cruises are also on offer for those who prefer a slightly faster pace. Both trips allow visitors to take in all the magnificent sites of Llangollen Canal.
Pen-Y-Ffrith Bird Garden - LL11 3AB

Pen-Y-Ffrith Bird Garden is an 18 acre site, filled with glorious woodland, dramatic gardens, streams, ponds and a 3 acre lake. As the seasons change so do the delights of the park. During springtime the bluebell woods are spectacular while in the summer the bog garden is a favourite attraction with some unusual displays of flora and fauna. In the autumn a walk through the ravine with its flowing waterfalls in not to be missed. There are also several yearly events to enjoy including the Bat walk in September.

Wepre Country Park is home to one of the largest play areas in Wales and is perfect for a fun family day out during the summer months. The site has miles of attractive woodland to be explored and cycling and nature trails are very popular ways to see the best of the area. The grounds of the historic estate also have beautiful gardens with stunning floral displays and there is plenty of open space for children to play. An annual events programme ensures that seasonal activities take place regularly including spooky Halloween Walks, Christmas Carol Singing and Ranger led events. There is also a visitor's centre with a small shop.
St Winefride's Well - CH8 7PN
about 20 Miles
St Winefride's Well in Flintshire is described at one of the 7 wonders of Wales and is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Legend has it that the well first erupted at the spot where Caradog cut off the nuns head with his sword. The shrine was then erected in her memory in the first decade of the sixteenth century and remains one of the holiest places in Wales. The stunning temple and well attract visitors from all over the world. Water can be drawn from the spring basin within the crypt and is thought to be lucky.
Greenfield Valley Heritage Park - CH8 7GH

Greenfield Valley Heritage Park in Flintshire has something for everyone including a museum, gardens, play area, small petting farm and visitors centre. The beautiful areas of woodland around the site are abundant with wildlife and ideal for walking, cycling and nature trails. A family ticket is just £10.50 so this is the ideal outing if you are on a tight budget. Seasonal tickets are also available from just £28.00 for a family of 4 and allow unlimited entry.
The Seaquarium - LL30 1BL

The Seaquarium in Rhyl is a fantastic choice for a family day trip offering the chance to meet strange and exotic marine life from all around the world. The sea animals here come from the depths of the Amazon, Pacific & Indian Oceans as well as from around UK shores. Slimy Eels, scary Sharks and creepy Piranhas are all there to be seen as well as beautiful and elegant Rays. The site also has a café and a gift shop where children can pick up a souvenir. A ticket for a family of 4 is just £27.00
Powis Castle and Gardens - SY21 8RF

This National Trust site is one of the finest in Wales. The stunning castle was once a medieval fortress and has been remodelled several times over the last 400 years. The Great Hall is home to some amazing collections of paintings as well as sculptures and tapestries. The gardens are world famous with stunning areas of French and Italian style as well as a gorgeous orangery. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas.
Welsh Mountain Zoo - LL28 5UY

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.
