Perfect for special celebrations and big family gatherings, this historic country house sits within 75 acres with a lake, river and woodland to explore. Walk the grounds, fish the River Dee or try a watersport, then while away your evenings in the hot tub, cinema or games room. With 12 versatile bedrooms to sleep up to 27 guests, a holiday here is like having your own private resort. Make lasting memories with a multi-generational break at this impressive country home. Occupying an unrivalled position in the Upper Dee Valley, the Hall’s 19th century proportions and period charm are complemented by all the contemporary luxuries that will make every stay a true delight. Enter the reception hall and there’s a snug area with Sky TV, sofas, a feature fireplace and wood burner. To the right is a single bedroom with en-suite shower room. Head through the hall to the lounge where an open fire, selection of sofas and feature seating in the picture windows all set the scene for companionable catch-ups. Beyond, the fabulous panelled games room has a snooker table, air hockey, table tennis, pool table, TV and a sofa – fun for everyone! A lakeside snug with garden access is adjacent. A stunning dining room off the lounge has an open fire and huge dining table to seat up to 28, while a second dining room overlooks the lake, has a table for 10 and houses the Hall’s library. To take the hard work out of large-scale catering, the kitchen has three range-style electric ovens and hobs, a double fridge, double freezer, fridge and two dishwashers. Head into the utility room and you’ll find a further electric oven and hob, laundry equipment and access to a handy boot room with the grounds beyond. For after-dinner entertainment, settle down with drinks and snacks in the lower ground floor’s 14-seat cinema. Once the movie’s over, back on the ground floor there’s a lovely bedroom with twin zip-and-link beds which can be made up as a super-king-size on request and its own en-suite wet room. Along the corridor there are two separate WCs and a super-king-size zip-and-link bed room that can be made up as a twin on request and has an en suite shower room. Upstairs, the first floor has a high ceiling, picture windows and access to the balcony. Here you’ll find a spacious super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request) with two additional single beds, corner sofa and en-suite bathroom with both a bath and separate shower. On the right is a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and another large flexible room has two super-king-size zip-and-link beds (that can be made up as four singles on request) with an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. Moving along, you’ll find a further twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) with en-suite bathroom and the master bedroom, which has an exquisite super-king bed, seating area, TV, dressing area and stunning en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath, separate shower and two sinks. For ultimate luxury, a private balcony is accessed from the seating area. Finally, on the second floor there are four further bedrooms – two super-king-size zip-and-link rooms (which can be made up as twins on request plus a double bedroom and a super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom which share an en-suite Jack and Jill shower room. Drive 21 miles to Dolgellau and you can join the 10-mile Mawddach Trail to Barmouth and beautiful Cardigan Bay.

Laid out with families or friends in mind, this home-from-home property is packed full of home comforts and little luxuries, including the private hot tub in the garden. Surrounded by rolling hills with resident cattle and dark skies up above, you’ll come away feeling rested and recharged after a long or short stint in this southern Snowdonia holiday home. With wooden stable doors, exposed brickwork and an extremely appealing wood burner in the lounge, there’s a real sense of provincial charm in this converted farmhouse cottage. Leave shoes and coats in the utility area before venturing inside to find plenty of space to relax. The lounge is kept cosy with the wood burner in use and the sofas ready to curl up on, whilst the dining room offers a great place to sit around at mealtimes or with a board game laid out. If guests prefer to relax on their own, each of the three bedrooms on the first floor is furnished with a TV allowing for snuggled-up movie nights. if you enjoy the river and fishing, you will be hard pressed to beat this destination. the house was lovely it had all we needed including the hot tub. If i had was criticism it would be a upright hoover would be a good call...i know what your thinking :) but this is our 2nd time in 3 years and we will look to book again as it was a great weeks breRead moreak. i would suggest you order your food from ASDA to be delivered as bala shops are limited. Amazing location, fantastic holiday home. The lake and river running through the premises was fantastic and was so peaceful on a night. Kids were able to play on the onsite park. Plenty of red kites soared the sky which was great to see.

The location of the property was great, having the lake with the kayaks, as well as the table tennis and badminton was really great for keeping the kids entertained. The hot tub was very clean and also a great addition. Bala is a nice place to stay as a base for exploring some of North Wales and this property was all we could have asked for. We wil l definitely be staying again. We hope that it stays a small, intimate holiday space as that helped make it feel more idyllic. The owner was helpful

What a great place to spend a relaxing week! The house was very comfortable, clean and functional and had everything needed for a family of 8 plus two dogs. The beds were very comfortable, and all you could hear at night was the gently bubbling and splashing of the stream. The lake was great for swimming in and messing about on the boats. Altogethe r it was a lovely place to spend time relaxing, plus a great base to explore Snowdonia and North Wales.

What a fantastic location. As well as being a great base for exploring North Wales, the Bodweni Estate is stunning. We loved swimming in the river and the lake, as well as taking a pedalo out.

Bodweni hall was perfect for our huge family. It was not too perfect or posh so that we were scared to have our teenagers and younger kids in it. But had all the space and entertainment inside and out! The most perfect setting! Would highly recommend for a large multi generational group. We had an amazing time!

Amazing location, you just don't need to leave the site. The Lake is fantastic, we spent hours swimming, kayaking and even took our own paddle board onto the lake. Gorgeous walks, picnic tables, barbecue, outdoor seating and hot tub all meant we really didn't need to go out of the estate much. When we did venture out this location is perfect as the re is so much to do. The cottage has everything you would need and more. Fantastic week and will be returning next year.

Absolutely fantastic cottage, brilliant beautiful location. Everything you need, great welcome basket. Stunning lakeside location, nicely fenced off to keep the small ones safe. Great range of pedal boats and nice sturdy canoes. Water in lake very clean, even great for swimming on a nice day. Great hot tub, making this venue the perfect chill out l ocation for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding areas. Really did not want to go home. Absolutely 10 out of 10,

What a beautiful setting. We were lucky that our holiday coincided with the recent heatwave which meant we were playing in the lake everyday and enjoying the surrounding grounds. We really recommend Bodweni for its peacefulness but also its close location to Bala town and Bala Lake. Thoroughly recommend a trip to Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog to o, you can drive your car straight on to the beach!

Lovely cottage in wonderful grounds. So nice to find a welcome basket with some essentials & some sweet treats when we arrived. We were a 3 generation family aged from 2-52 and it was good for all of us, the children loved to run in the field, play at the park, skim stones in the river & we even had a couple of sunny days to use the canoes and peda loes on the lake, we would happily come back.

Had a wonderful week with family and friends and our two dogs at Bodweni house. The location is stunning everyone enjoyed their stay. We went on the peddle boats had a game of table tennis, and enjoyed our walks around the lake and then relaxed in the hot tub which overlooks the lake. The beds are extremely comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. Lo vely welcome pack of tea coffee and bara brith and other items. There is also a play area for younger children. Would recommend to friends.

7 ladies of varying ages family and friends had an amazing weekend. The owners provided a welcome pack with eggs jam bread tea coffee milk and Welsh cakes which was very useful and unexpected. The cottage was fabulous comfortable spacious and had everything that you would need. The cottage was not 5luxury but lovely. The location was however 6 th e lake right in front of the cottage and the pedalloes kayaks & trampoline were superb as were the views from the cottage. Highly recommended

Such a fab, fully equipped house to stay in for our mums 60th. Weather could have been better but that didn't stop us enjoying the cosy warm of the bodweni house with its well equipped kitchen for meals in, and big TVs for films and family game nights. Would definitely stay again and explore more of the lake and nearby walks.

Amazing relaxing space, we were 3 generation and 2 dogs staying here and the kids were entertained with the facilities. The parents were happy that kids werent bored, parents and grandparents with the wonderful hot tub. The kitchen was a delight, I have never stay in such well equipped holiday cottage, lodge etc.. I wish we had know we wouldnt have arranged to eat out so much a true chefs dream . Recommend a visit highly.

Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in North Wales and is an excellent place to spend the day as a family. The Wharf is situated in the peaceful market town of Llangollen - now part of a World Heritage Site. Horse Drawn Boat Trips are available along the feeder for the main canal and are a unique way to explore the area. Motorised Aqueduct Cruises are also on offer for those who prefer a slightly faster pace. Both trips allow visitors to take in all the magnificent sites of Llangollen Canal.
Pen-Y-Ffrith Bird Garden - LL11 3AB

Pen-Y-Ffrith Bird Garden is an 18 acre site, filled with glorious woodland, dramatic gardens, streams, ponds and a 3 acre lake. As the seasons change so do the delights of the park. During springtime the bluebell woods are spectacular while in the summer the bog garden is a favourite attraction with some unusual displays of flora and fauna. In the autumn a walk through the ravine with its flowing waterfalls in not to be missed. There are also several yearly events to enjoy including the Bat walk in September.

This National Trust site is one of the finest in Wales. The stunning castle was once a medieval fortress and has been remodelled several times over the last 400 years. The Great Hall is home to some amazing collections of paintings as well as sculptures and tapestries. The gardens are world famous with stunning areas of French and Italian style as well as a gorgeous orangery. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas.
Welsh Mountain Zoo - LL28 5UY

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

The Seaquarium in Rhyl is a fantastic choice for a family day trip offering the chance to meet strange and exotic marine life from all around the world. The sea animals here come from the depths of the Amazon, Pacific & Indian Oceans as well as from around UK shores. Slimy Eels, scary Sharks and creepy Piranhas are all there to be seen as well as beautiful and elegant Rays. The site also has a café and a gift shop where children can pick up a souvenir. St Winefride's Well - CH8 7PN

St Winefride's Well in Flintshire is described at one of the 7 wonders of Wales and is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Legend has it that the well first erupted at the spot where Caradog cut off the nuns head with his sword. The shrine was then erected in her memory in the first decade of the sixteenth century and remains one of the holiest places in Wales. The stunning temple and well attract visitors from all over the world. Water can be drawn from the spring basin within the crypt and is thought to be lucky.
