Hen Dy Craig Yr Ronwy Reviews

This was our second stay and just like the first time last year it was wonderful being at the cottage. It's clean, equipped with everything you could need, the hot tub is amazing with incredible views, and it's a warm and very comfortable place to spend a week. The welcome basket plus the card from the owners was a really lovely extra touch and very appreciated. This is a great value property and especially great for dogs, I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will no doubt be booking again for next year!

Stunning property in a stunning location. Exceeded all expectations. We would love to return. A big thank you to the housekeepers and the owner for making it all so special.
The setting of where this cottage is situated, breathtaking. Stunning views in virtually every direction. The cottage itself is beautiful, it had everything. The contact that I had with Dave when I queried something was very quick, very direct and very helpful. Without a doubt the best hot tub views I have ever had. The only negative I would have to say is that there was a few cobwebs about the place, in the main bedroom we were staying in they were all over the wall however this didn't bother us, just thought I'd mention it. We are already talking about returning with more family members to experience this place as a group! Thank you for a beautiful stay!
Our holiday at Hen Dy Craig Yr Ronwy near Bala was lovely in every way peace and quite after busy days were some of us played golf and some of us sight seeing, the hot tub was just the ticket after a game of golf. We all like being away from the Madding crowds. If there were any down side it would be Just one of the beds was a bit squeaky, but other than that there was nothing to moan about. Would Love to go back .

Such a beautiful property and better than we had expected. The house was so clean and smelt amazing as we walked in. So many little extras and very well thought out touches. Very impressed by the sanitary products available if needed. We would say the bath towels were far too small and we ended up having to use the large sheets we had brought for the hot tub. There was also a lack of glasses, plenty of wine glasses but not enough for a long drink really, nothing major just a small point. We would also recommend that people take bug spray for when in the hot tub on summer nights. We went and bought some citronella candles to help as we did get quite a few bites. We had a fabulous week thank you.

Our stay at the charming cottage in Wales was nothing short of perfect. The location is surrounded by picturesque landscapes and stunning views. The cottage itself is beautifully maintained, the interiors are tastefully decorated, combining modern comforts with rustic charm. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds that ensure a restful night's sleep. The wellequipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, and the living area, was a great spot to relax in the evenings.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Beautiful views. I would like to mention a couple of things. Firstly there are no signs on the gates to the property, which would help as it wasn't easy to find. Also the dishwasher hadn't been cleaned inside and there were the remains of food in there. We loved the cottage, garden which was fenced and so safe for my grandson and our dogs and the location. We visited a lot of places including a small family run garden called Caerau Gardens, Cafe and adventure playground which is in Sarnau, Nr. Bala. Well worth a visit. We would definitely want to return to this cottage again. Thank you
I have stayed in many cottages in Wales this comes out top cleanliness comfort decor absolutely stunning.
The cottage was beautiful and we felt so relaxed there,it was fascinating to see how much work the owners had put into it from a derelict building. I enjoyed the beautiful view from the kitchen whilst having my morning coffee, and it is central to other places to visit. We were also left a welcome gift. The hot tub was great except I have booked places where they are cleaned and treated every day and it was getting grubby. Also the farm dogs barked in early hours which woke us. Other than that it was a superb break highly recommended and would definitely book again.

Beautiful location and tranquil, Not many walking paths around the location but a lot within a short drive, and probably the reason the location remained quiet throughout the whole stay which was lovely Had read previous reviews about the local farm dogs barking, they rarely barked throughout our whole stay just when we went past, and even then, it wasn't disruptive at all! So definitely don't let this put you off prior to booking! Lots of extra little bits such as games, air beds, etc, we didn't make use but nice to have the option The fencing around the property was mostly perfect but wouldn't leave the dogs outside unattended just incase as some parts weren't very high, more suited to smaller dogs, but that didn't effect the stay, and did make the views nicer. All in all, couldn't have asked for a better property!

What a wonderful stay! From the moment we opened the door to a lovely welcome pack and a warm & clean cottage with amazing views. Somuch space...from the Whiskey snug to a big open lounge and a lovely kitchen diner. We spent the days in Snowdonia outdoor swimming and the evenings cooking, eating, enjoying the evening views and playing games TV with Netflix etc in lounge but we never switched it on! The bedrooms are all spacious and two big shared bathrooms and an extra downstairs shower off the utility room which has an amazing floor I won't spoil the surprise! All beautifully decorated and even toiletries supplied in case you forget to bring. Our week was so full that we only managed to use the hot tub once great fun, particularly the lighting! The cottage is in a great location for travelling around Snowdonia if you take the road left out of the cottage it takes you to the Blaenau Ffestiniog, Beddgelert 50 mins or the coast. Some stunning drives. If you turn left out of the cottage you can drive to Bala Lake or round to BetwsyCoed and Capel Curig & Snowdon. For lake swimming the cottage was in a great location we managed Llynau Mymbyr, Llyn Geririonydd, Llyn Gwynant, Llyn Dinas, Llyn Mwyngil and Llyn Padarn suring our week The utility room at the house was great for washing & drying our swimming gear everyday. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Just a tiny recommendation the Sat Nav address covers a few properties and initially took us to the first house after the bend. Might be good to mention the house is third turn on the right if coming from Bala opposite the public parking site on the road about 800m after the bend.

The property is beautiful and very well renovated. Brilliantly equipped, with pretty much everything you could think of, plus lots of lovely little extras, which is a lovely touch by the owners. Cleaned to a good standard upon arrival. There were just a couple if things which we found would have personally benefited us. A wardrobe in all 4 bedrooms not just 2 of them A mirror in all 4 bedrooms not just 1 of them. A long mirror somewhere in the house. Plus a small bin in each bedroom would have made things easier for us too. Despite the chandeliers being beautiful, they were quite literally a pain, because the ceilings are already quite low which of course we expect in a period property, but 2 of our party kept banging their heads on the chandeliers which hang very low from the already low ceilings. For the most part it was peaceful, but there are 2 dogs in cages near to the house who barked on and off throughout the day which was fine, but they barked for longer periods of time and, what seemed to be, louder throughout the night, disturbing everyone's sleep. It would have been good to have known before booking that to go anywhere, even for a walk from the property, you need to jump in the car first, as there is no footpaths or walking routes from the property. Everything needs to be driven to first, then go on beautiful walks in this stunning part of the world. The owners were very helpful when helping us to resolve a problem with the hottub, the gentleman had a lovely relaxed and patient manner on the phone whilst he talked us through what to do to fix the issue. The maintenance man who the owners sent round to look at the hottub the next day, was lovely! He was polite and nothing seemed to be a hassle. The views are fantastic, even outstanding, from this property. The closed off garden is a super touch, especially because we knew our little whoof had a safe place to run and play. The beds are supper comfortable and the equipment provided is of a high standard and the views are out of this world, so for these reasons we would return. Thank you for a much needed break from the rat race.
Hen Dy Craig Yr Ronwy was absolutely wonderful in every way! Loved the split kitchendinning room, great to cook and still chat with rest of party at the same time. Fantastic views from the kitchen patio doors looking down over Lynn Tryweryn, and good keep a eye on the dog in the fully enclosed garden brilliant! Bedrooms cosy, the snug was a great place to secure the dog overnight for sleeping. Log burner in large living room was fabulous! Loved everything about the house, in one word PERFECT!
Philip
This a a lovely cottage, well equipped, clean, spacious and full of character. We really enjoyed our stay. Amazing views from the hot tub which we enjoyed. Very thoughtful welcome gifts on arrival. Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage was beautiful and suited our needs lovely and cosy with comfy beds and amazing views. Beautifully decorated and very clean! Loads to do in the area and we didnt struggle to fill our days! No complaints but our only feedback would be that we would have liked more storage in the bedrooms our son had very little in his room so used a tv cabinet and one room had a wardrobe we couldnt open so my sister in law had to live out of a suitcase for the week. Not a huge problem and didnt spoil our stay. Additionally we werent aware there would be an electric car charger available unless we missed it somewhere we came in our petrol car as we were concerned wed struggle to charge the electric car!
We had a fabulous stay at the cottage which is in a great location and easy to access amenities in Bala. The cottage was very clean, well maintained and beautiful inside and outside. The hot tub made it a great family holiday for all which included grandparents and children as well as a dog. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The only downside, which is not a fault of the owners is the working dogs who are housed next door and woke everyone up 3 days out of 7 at around 5am with their barking. However that didn't spoil what was a great family holiday in a fantastic cottage and in fact allowed us to see 2 spectacular sunrises which we would have otherwise missed.
Our stay at the cottage was truly amazing! You've done an excellent job in making it a perfect holiday retreat. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that you've thought of everything we might need. The attention to detail was outstanding, and the cottage was equipped with all the essentials and more. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you for making our holiday unforgettable!
The location was perfect, the cottage was clean, tidy and had m decor features. The view was stunning, the beds were comfy and the facilties were home from home. My only negative would be the close by sheep dog kennel to the side of the cottage . The dogs barked regular through the night and this was quite loud even with the windows shut ! Which disturbed us all. Im glad we didnt need to open them as the weather was quite cool but this could be an issue for some families or light sleepers.
Natalia
Very pleased with our short holidays. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful settings. Thank you very much.
Mohammed
