Brynhir Farm Reviews

On Arrival We were met by the lovely Mrs Nixon, who showed us around the barn and explained everything to us,The barn itself is beautiful and well proportioned and as all you need for your stay,we enjoyed our days out and about visiting Rhayader all the Elan valley reservoirs and dams in stunning scenery,we also visited Abergavenny, and after our long walks we really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, watching the Red Kites. we had a great weeks stay and would recommend the barn to friends and family.
Brynhir Farm is, without doubt, one of the best holiday accommodations we have experienced, having stayed at many over recent years. On arrival, we were provided with a superb, freshly made cake which was a lovely and welcome surprise. Our hosts, Ceinwen and Geoffrey were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The holiday barn itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. You are surrounded by wonderful views and the peace and quiet of the countryside. There is plenty to see locally, with the quaint and fascinating Llandrindod Wells close by, the Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader and the Spaceguard Station at Knighton, just a few of the places we visited. A quick mention for the amazing hot tub which was really the icing on the cake for us! In conclusion, we would not hesitate in recommending a holiday at Brynhir Farm, a little piece of heaven to be sure.
Lovely relaxing cottage, so much wildlife. All the utensils you need are there, even baking trays never had them in any other cottage. Really comfy settees. Beds are so comfy, shower not good, could not get it cool enough but the bath was lovely. Roomy and nice. Met by a really lovely owner, very friendly. Close but only there if you need them. Was a wonderful week.

Just got back from a relaxing comfortable week at brynhir farm. We were met by the lovely Mrs nixon who I had some nice chats with when I saw here during the week.the barn was amazing inside with 2 massive bedroom and bathrooms.the kitchen had everything you could need for your stay.the lounge was spacious and comfortable. We loved relaxing on the deck area in the evenings listening to the birds and the lambs .we didn't use the hot tub much but it was always warm and available for us if needed.we would highly recommend a stay at brynhir. And the bike rides I had from here were spectacular.
We stayed for 9 nights at Brynhir Farm and I would highly recommend this accommodation! !! We stayed 2 nights in B&B in the farmhouse and the stay was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was amazing!!! We transferred over to the barn on the Friday night for 7 nights and it was a beautiful place to stay. There was everything that you could ever need, the cleanliness was fantastic and the view was amazing. To wake up everyday to the sound of lambs bleating was fantastic and so peaceful. The hot tub was perfect with a perfect view. Thank you for making our break so enjoyable and relaxing. Judith Green

We had a fabulous stay at Brynhir Farm, the photo's don't do it justice, it was warm, clean, modern and a real home from home. The owner, Mrs Nixon was very welcoming and is always available if needed. It was lovely waking up to the bleating of sheep and lambs in the mornings and the surrounding area is truly spectacular. Although the weather wasn't on our side we still managed to see and do lots in the area. We enjoyed our week in Mid Wales and would definitely stay at Brynhir farm again.
Heather
It is in a lovely peaceful location. Excellent views from the balcony and sitting room, with frolicking lambs in the fields. Excellent facilities. Very relaxing.

We had a wonderful weeks stay for Christmas. When we arrived we were greeted my Mrs Nixon and shown around our beautiful accommodation. The barn had Christmas decorations and a lovely Christmas tree. This has been the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Its big and beautifully appointed. The hot tub was most welcome even in the storm. The sheep and the red kites were a delight to see. I would highly recommend this property.
What can I say! What a beautiful property and surrounding area

The location was amazing and so peaceful. It was absolutely spotless the bonus was having the hot tub under cover. Mrs Nixon was such a fab host and even baked us a cake on our arrival it was absolutely delicious. We had everything we needed in the house. Loved the rooms especially having a bathroom each the boys loved that. The only problem I found was the beds I found them not being comfortable maybe its me I dont know. Otherwise everything is spot on. Definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. Highly enjoyed our stay.
Christine
Brynhir Farm was a wonderful peaceful place and Mrs Nixon is hospitality itself Would definitely go back again

Well what a find absolutely wonderful on our arrival we had a 2 red kites looping the farm which we loved Mrs Nixon showed us around the accommodation and all she would of heard was WOW WOW WOW It's absolutely stunning we loved sitting on the balcony watching the sheep & cows & the local Kites which sit in the trees very close to the barn , we enjoyed the hot tub and walked up to the top of the hill to see the views over Powys, while we were there we went to the local Elan Valley Dams and also a kite feeding station. We visited Aberdovey & Aberystwyth and Buith Wells Llandrindod wells we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the barn 1010
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brynhir Farm! Rooms The barn and the rooms inside it were lovely and spacious, and it had a nice homey feel. We liked that both bedrooms had their own ensuites and TVs. Cleanliness Brynhir farm was spotlessly clean when we arrived. AmenitiesFacilities All of the facilities in the kitchen, bathroom and lounge areas worked perfectly and were high quality. We had everything we needed during our stay enough cutlerycrockery, seating, towels etc. We also made use of the hot tub on several occasions during our stay which was very relaxing and was preheated upon our arrival so we could use it straight away. Distance from attractions Brynhir Farm is a little bit of a drive away from some attractions however we loved being out in the country and still managed to visit Llandrindod Wells which is one of the closest towns to the barn and has a lovely lake to visit, the Small Breeds Animal Farm, Aberystwyth, and Elan Valley. Property owner Mrs. Nixon made us feel so welcome and at home in the barn during our stay! She showed us around when we arrived and was so friendly. Other One of our favourite parts of staying at Brynhir Farm was being able to sit out on the balcony and watch the Red Kites flying over in the mornings. There were even binoculars provided to make this even better for us! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brynhir Farm and wed definitely recommend it to anyone who was visiting midWales and wed love to come back if we visit again.

We had a lovely stay. The barn was immaculate, everything was superb quality especially the frying pans ! The hot tub was a god send and lovely any weather. We loved sitting on balcony watching the kites fly and sit in trees nearby. It was a brilliant relaxing stay and we will definitely return x x x
Lovely hosts and delicious cake The property is in an excellent location all the way at the end of the lane. Loved seeing all the cows and sheep in the fields around us. The property really is as spacious as it looks a really comfortable stay. Would definitely stay again if looking to holiday in the area again.
Patricia
WOW! this is by far our best Sykes experience. 1010. Mrs Nixon is a lovely lady who has put much thought into making this delightful property a clean and peaceful haven, she has thought of everything except the weather! In spite of a rainy week, we walked miles around dams and reservoirs without getting wet and returned to the wonderful views back at Brynhir, Kites, cattle, calves and sheep and the working dogs which are a joy to watch, free entertainment from the balcony. We cannot recommend highly enough. Fabulous.
A beautifully secluded location but not too far away from Llandrindod Wells if you need to find a supermarket. The accommodation is well designed and, for nature lovers, the views from the balcony are spectacular. Red kites regularly making an appearance overhead. The hosts are very welcoming but totally unobtrusive. And, if you want to watch a nature spectacular, book to see the red kite feeding near Rhayader. A very relaxing break. Many thanks to the Nixons.
This is a fabulous property. Huge! Very comfortable, warm in a peaceful location. Only my wife and I stayed, but the property is eminently suitable for two couples each bedroom is ensuite, plenty of chairs etc. to ensure total comfort. Mrs. Nixon is the perfect host cannot fault Brynhir. If it's a peaceful rural location you're after look no further! Even red kites en site!

STOP SCROLLING If you come across this property then BOOK IT! You wont be disappointed. It has everything you could wish for. A lovely home from home. The bedrooms are massive, the bathroom has both a bath and separate shower. The beds are comfortable, and the the hot tub is just brilliant, after a day of walking. The owners are lovely, and the homemade cakes were divine!
The property is a beautiful and relaxing place. Mrs Nixon, the owner, was friendly, informative and very helpful when required. Other than normal farmyard sounds it is very peaceful and quiet. The hot tub was excellent and well maintained. In spite of the time of year, because of where and how its situated, we could use it every day. Would highly recommend.
The property was beautiful and the hot tub was lovely. The owners are great and go out of their way to make your stay perfect, I would love to go back again in the future .

Brynhir Farm was fabulously appointed throughout! With temperatures outside in the region of minus 10, the property was luxuriously warm from the time you enter .The furniture was so comfortable including the beds. The Ensuite bathrooms were superlative . The Hot Tub bubbled away which was excellent in the frosty night air. A lovely host Mrs Nixon . You will not find a finer family gataway destination than this property. FIRST CLASS
Mrs Nixon was very warm and welcoming on arrival. The accommodation was perfect, Mrs Nixon has thought of everything and even had fresh flowers when we arrived. The space is large, warm and very comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful. We even enjoyed the hot tub even though the weather was cold. I will definitely come back and would recommend staying here.
Nicola
This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in .
The property, Brynhir Farm, was exactly as described on Sykes website. and in reality better than we imagined. The bedrooms were very spacious, clean and bright. Upstairs the open plan kitchen, dining and living room area was huge, giving good family space, but together. The views were wonderful, & outside seating allowed us to watch red kites sitting in the trees. The Hot tub......lovely! Brynhir Farm is within walking distance of LLandriddod Wells, about 40 mins across fields, but a great way to enjoy local life without using the car! Although we didnt use it, the station in LLandriddod Wells allows further opportunities to see this lovely part of Wales and the border areas....that's for next time! Many thanks to our lovely hosts.
Lovely place to stay, we'll equipped, spacious and comfortable. Having the hot tub under cover is a brilliant idea especially in Wales although it did only rain on us once.
Excellent property, very clean, comfortable and spacious lovely location.
Christopher

The cottage was even better than expected ,so well equipped with first rate fixtures and fittings. We were made welcome from the start even though the farm was busy the greeting was warm and friendly. Lots of wildlife and such to see and plenty to do in the surrounding area. If you want to wind down and recharge your batteries then this is the place to do just that. Lovely stay thanks a million. Mary and Frank
Sandra
Very peaceful relaxing stay, hot tub great and property clean and very spacious, lovely watching sheep & lambs each day also the red kites soaring by. Lovely surprise bottle of Prosecco for our joint birthday celebrations, excellent overall would recommend.
An exceptional property in a beautiful and tranquil location. We are already planning our next stay here at some point in the future and we have definitely recommended to our friends and family. Thankyou so much!
What a fantastic haven to relax with top class hospitality! Ideal location that feels away from the world but a stones throw away from all the amenities you need. The barn was very clean, comfortable and very warm for our February visit. Well equipped kitchen and the hot tub was covered so it can be used in all weather. Nothing we could say would describe the amazing views we woke to every day. We will be returning guests
Our stay at Brynhir Farm was great, the owners are very welcoming and friendly. The property is lovely and quiet and perfect for a break in beautiful surroundings.
