Farriers Cottage Reviews

Beautiful cottage warm, cosy and everything that you needed was provided. We will be back!
Alison
The cottage is absolutely gorgeous. It's clean and comfortable and has everything you need. A lovely little real fire in the living room. Really cosy. Totally secure garden so you dog is safe and of course the hot tub! The pub 2 doors up is great. The food is really good and they are so friendly in there. Dog friendly even in the restaurant part. The village shop has everything you need. I think I found a little gem when I booked Farriers. Totally recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at farriers cottage. The owner was pretty much on site and you could tell a lot of thought and care has been brought to the place. Any suggestions previous visitors mentioned were rectified e.g. blinds. There were only a couple issues if we were being very picky. The car parking needs to be clear as we guessed where to park from the sign, as it's partially in front of a garage like door. It probably needs lines painting on as I know from previous comments you could easily upset the neighbours if you weren't in the correct place. In addition, it was very clean but when we were asked to strip the beds, one of the duvets had blood on it so it clearly needs to be cleaned or replaced. These small things didn't spoil our time at the cottage and it was so quiet and peaceful and our son loved sleeping in the 'big boy' bed.

Absolute gem in the heart of Lincolnshire, a really lovely place to spend a mini break. We had a small problem with the hot tub but the owner was very responsive and sorted it out within the same day. The pub just down from the holiday let in Ingham The Black Horse was a favourite hangout for the dambusters squadron. It's a great place to explore Lincoln and the surrounding country. Highly recommend!
Group of 4 friends really enjoyed our stay at Farriers Cottage. The basics such as oil, salt, pepper, hand soap etc really made a difference. Beds and sofas were really comfortable. Cottage was very cosy. We really enjoyed the hot tub. We got a taxi into Lincoln which was less than 20. Village shop was useful and locals were very friendly. Highly recommend!
Had a beautiful time thank you. Would love to come again.
Cornelius
Great retreat for a restful week. Great location to explore the local area from.
Fantastic property. Even better than described. Great friendly and responsive host. Perfect place to stay with everything you need.
Norman
Beautifully clean and presented but lacked a few facilities which you would expect at this price point. Shavertoothbrush socket. Shower needs upgrading. Radio in Kitchen. Coffee machine or at least a Cafetiere
Rachel
A really lovely cottage with the bonus of a downstairs toilet which was not in the original listing. Spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you could need. We loved the hot tub and found the village extremely peaceful. The only reason for not giving it a perfect score was down to our personal preference for a firmer mattress!
Warren
A really top notch cottage. We had a great time. Hot tub was amazing!
The cottage was lovely, very clean, comfortable and cosy, and the addition of the hot tub was great. Quiet location, very peaceful.
Beautiful cottage and very impressive hot tub. We have recommended to all family and friends. Looking forward to revisiting in the near future. Amy, Sam, Phoebe and Quinny xx

Wow! What a beautiful cottage! The cottage was spotless and very well equipped. The beds were comfy and everything provided was to a very high standard. The hot tub was a lovely touch after long days out. The village is beautiful and everyone is very friendly. Theres an immaculate, new playground in walking distance with lots to keep little ones entertained and lots of farms about half an hour drive away for children to enjoy. There are also two lovely pubs in walking distance. We highly recommend and will be back soon.
Fantastic quirky cottage in a beautiful quiet village location yet still close enough to drive to different places . Property was extremely clean and had every facility required. Hot tub outside was in great condition and an added bonus at the end of the day. First class recommendation
Sharon
First time we've stayed here. Would definitely come back. Beautiful and very clean cottage. Beds comfortable, very quiet and had the best sleep. Found everyone very friendly in the village. The hot tub was brilliant. Lovely at night when it's all lite up. Some lovely little walks. Just what we needed, lovely chilling break.

Wow! What a stay! From start to finish our little trip was a breeze. Booking was super quick with all instructions and when we arrived all was super clean, tidy and presentable. We had a dog and an 11 month baby and had ample room and space for everything we needed. Rooms were very spacious and modern and the hot tub was a lovely luxury to relax and unwind in the lovely summer evenings. We took advantage of booking Samantha who is a mobile masseuse details on FB page for Farriers Cottage and both had relaxing Swedish massages which were an extra treat! The local pubs are lovely but are rarely open which is a shame but when they are, they are dog friendly and have nice outdoor space. Lots of surrounding areas for nice walks and watching the jets fly past from RAF Scampton was brill! The local shop was an experience too! Like a time warp! But does have a lot of items to select and lovely fresh cobs to make some lunch with. We were sad when we had to leave and we will definitely be back. We would highly recommend Farriers Cottage as a play to stay, with or without a dog, and would urge anyone to book book book this little gem! Thanks for having us
Beautiful cottage in a lovely village have had a wonderful relaxing weeks' holiday and have booked again. Hot tub an added bonus Well maintained and spotlessly clean. Would recommend without hesitation. Thank you for such a great holiday
Heather
The property was lovely, clean and everything we needed was provided. It was a lovely stay and everyone in the village was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the local pub wasnt open when we were there but we will arrange another time to go back and will try it then.
Farriers Cottage is in a wonderful location in Ingham which is a beautiful village. The people are friendly and The Inn on the Green Pub is dog friendly and is simply outstanding should you wish to eat out on weekends. The Cottage has everything you could wish for and more including a wonderful hot tub which we thoroughly enjoyed. The living accommodation is spacious and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The Cottage is a wonderful base to explore Lincoln and the surrounding areas. We look forward to returning.
Had a lovely stay in this very pretty village. Cottage well appointed though the access is a little odd. Had some lovely days out locally.
We have just spent a wonderful week at Farriers Cottage in the beautiful village of Ingham. The cottage is fantastic, extremely clean with a very well equipped kitchen. We had our dogs with us and we all enjoyed the beautiful countryside walks which are virtually on the doorstep. Everyone was so friendly and our dogs were made to feel very welcome at the Inn on the Green. Make the most of the hot tub, it really added so much to our holiday and I am travelling home now trying to figure out where I can put one at home! Mary Jane is a wonderful host and I would have no hesitation to return to this beautiful cottage.
Our stay here was lovely. The cottage had everything you need and was very clean. The hot tub was an added bonus although my preference would have been that we had more privacy with a taller fencegate to seclude the view from passing neighbours. Pub and shop only a few minutes away and beautiful surrounding countryside for long walks. It was a perfect getaway to relax and recharge.

Great cottage, we were well pleased with all aspects. The kitchen is well stocked and the small cosy lounge was ideal, and the hot tub well suited the late evening relaxation. The village and surroundings were peaceful and ideally sited in the midst of Lincolnshire. The Red Arrows were a dynamic bouns. ICx
Me my wife and our 2 dogs stayed here for 3 nights for our wedding anniversary. The cottage is absolutely spotless and furnished at an extremely high standard. The owner is so friendly and helpful. The hot tub is a lovely touch especially on cold nights. We cant wait to rebook!
Delightful cottage, in a idyllic village. The owner is extremely helpful and informative. Nice to visit a dog friendly cottage that was so clean and furnished to a high standard. Our Labrador loved her few days away and we loved the hot tub!! We will definitely be back for another visit.
The property was lovely. Very clean and tidy. Very welcoming. Hot tub was amazing. Generally great holiday.
Back from a lovely long weekend at Farriers Cottage. Everything we wanted from a weekend away and relaxing in the hot tub was great! Recommend the hot chocolate at the Inn on the green which is dog friendly.
Kellie
Cottage was a absolutely stunning. We enjoyed every second of it. Children loved the hotub, and we even had nice weather to sit out. Will be definitely booking to go back soon.
When we booked the property on the 310321 the web site pictures showed a garage and front lawned garden. At some stage perhaps you could let me know when the garage had been converted to another property and extended to block the frontal view from the lounge. The lawn was no longer ours nor did we have access the front door not quite what we booked on the website! We were due to arrive on 020721 giving 3 months for either yourselves or the owner to have the honesty and openness to tell us about the build and now only 1 parking space . When you sent the key code on 250621 there still was no mention and still 2 parking spaces. The owner contacted me a few days before with some details and saying use back door only and that the garden was for the use of the Forge. As you can imagine our expectations have not been met and neither yourselves or the owner had the honesty to divulge this when we booked. Although we had a good holiday the experience was not as expected having no grass for our pet, no access to the front door, 1 parking space and left to carry our luggage down the side of the property and into the back courtyard.
One of the reasons I booked this cottage was that there were 2 parking spaces. It was only when I received the key instructions one week prior to our stay that I noticed the picture was different. Another property had been built in the grounds. We now had only one parking space, no garden the back yard has no grassplants and were forbidden from using the front door. We were not allowed to take our cars to the back door as we were told it was a private road. This made loading and unloading our cars very difficult. The kitchen door we were supposed to use stuck fast so we had a use the patio doors. A window in the sitting room had been blocked up by the new build making it very dingy. The photos on the website should be updated to reflect this. There was no blind in the bathroom, the window of which faces the high street. Good points were the beds were comfortable, we did receive a pint of milk from the owner and the walls were thick so that the cottage remained cool even when the weather was very hot.
Lorraine
Wonderful cottage in great village location extremely pretty cottage with good facilities
Rachel
Lovely modern cottage, beautifully decorated with everything you need. The bed was particularly comfy! Kitchen was also a great size with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was an added bonus! The further bonus was the Inn On The Green pub a couple of minutes walk away what more do you need! Owner was really helpful and happy to help with anything via text or call. Only bad thing was that we couldn't stay for longer!
Lindsay
Our stay at Farriers Cottage was the perfect little break we needed. A beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, if we needed anything the hosts were on the end of the phone to help. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone else.
Me. My partner and our little pooch stayed in the lovely cottage for 3 nights in July 2020. It was cosy, comfortable and the hot tub amazing! We loved every minute! The host was very helpful and the little touches left around like tablets for the dish washer we really loved! Will definitely be back again x
The cottage was beautiful and everything you would need for a break away! The decor was lovely and the cottage had lovely little touches milk and biscuits when we arrived. We had an amazing stay and the host could not have been more helpful, we will definitely be back and recommending the cottage to friends and family. Tip a short walk from the cottage the red arrows train amazing show!

Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 26 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 27 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 27 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
The Deep - HU1 4DP

Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
