Widdington 2 Bernaleen Cottages Reviews

We stayed in Cottage 3 same footprint inside as Widdington but had a 4th bedroom. As it was just the two of us there was plenty of room, so only used the ground and top floors. Living area open and practical, with bifold doors leading directly into the enclosed garden which included a bbq, pizza oven and outdoor furniture and heater. A real bonus was the hot tub, where we sat and watched the September sunsets over the field stunning. Kitchen had every gadget you could need including an air fryer and stand mixer set of scales would be a good addition. Utility room was a great functional space for the dog to sleep. Everything beautifully cleantidy. So much to do locally we visited beaches at Brancaster and Holkham and enjoyed a trip to Castle Rising. Would recommend the General Store at Ringstead for supplies, The Gin Trap pub, Erics at Thornham for fish & chips, but an abundance of great places to eat, drink and visit. Unfortunately we didnt make it to The Nest for Sunday lunch as they had had a flood but well be back. Comms with host re arrival all good thank you for a fabulous stay.

Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 12 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 16 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 20 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 23 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 24 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 26 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
