Travelled from Australia, we spent a wonderful Christmas here. It was nice to have the space to catch up with loved ones after spending many Christmas's away from one another. All 15 of us had the most enjoyable time. The hot-tub was lovely to relax in following our beach walks. The layout of the house worked perfectly for multi-activities such as board games, whilst others relaxed on the sofa's. The piano added a musical element thanks to the musician in the family! A superb weeks holiday in a beautifully equipped, comfortable and tastefully decorated property. It provided a base for trips to Cromer, Holt, Great Yarmouth, Horsey and Aylsham. Also spent a lot of time at the beaches. Other highlights were wildlife boat trip at Horsey windpump and also watching seals!

We have had a wonderful 2 weeks enjoying everything Norfolk has to offer. The weather has been extremely kind so we have made the most of the beach at the end of the road (it's so close and a great beach) and also visited three National Trust sites... we even waved at the King and Queen at the Sandringham flower show!

Wonderful place to gather all the family to celebrate my 70th. A quality home with more equipment and gifted items than we could have expected. Location near the sea and off main road, safe garden for children. Fun aspects (e.g. hot tub, plus dart board and karaoke facility in 'beach bar').

This was a perfect place for us to celebrate a 90th and a 40th birthday as a family group of 14. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated, with all the facilities and equipment you could possibly want or need. Everything is so close to hand: a lovely beach, an excellent pub, a good cafe and a good fish & chip shop. The hot tub was a major atRead moretraction for young and old, and was put to good use during our stay, as was the huge industrial sized barbecue and the well equipped bar which was an excellent source of entertainment in the evenings. Communication with the owner before our visit was very straightforward; and he was kind enough to forward by post a bluetooth speaker, which we had inadvertently left behind. We had a brilliant few days in Bacton, and would love to have stayed for longer. Hide

Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 8 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 9 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 16 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 17 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 20 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 20 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 21 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 22 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 25 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
