The Old Chapel Reviews

Graham
We all really enjoyed our stay. It was a lovely home in a lovely setting. Quiet and peaceful yet still close enough to amenities to not feel cut off. Although we didn't use the sauna, the hot tub was a great addition.
Lovely comfortable stay in the Old Chapel Ideal base for visiting Norfolk Nearby Foxley Woods with lovely walks to spend time exploring.
The property was very comfortable, well maintained and ideally located for us in a quiet area whilst within easy driving distance of many tourist attractions. The kitchen facilities were excellent and the welcome pack was much appreciated. We did not make use of the hot tub or sauna. We were surprised that there was no hairdryer but many thanks to Claire who helped to resolve this issue. We were only one couple so had plenty of room but in our opinion the property would feel very cramped with 6 adults. Whilst there are 3 bedrooms the smallest one has no wardrobe or drawer space and is more suited to children.

The old chapel is a lovly place to stay , has everything you need just like your own home , had a lovly card and some gifts left by the owners, the hot tub was amazing it was a lovly garden with little lights at night and kept very tidy , there where lots of places to visit that was only a short drive away , would love to stay again . Thank you
Kelvin
Lovely place to stay, had a nice week here just wish the weather had been better, nothing to do with the cottage though. Had everything you needed and the hot tub and sauna were brilliant bonuses. Thank you to Rose the owner for the welcome gifts, they were most appreciated, we would definitely like to return in the future.

Absolutely lovely. Suited our needs exactly. Can't fault it. Comfortable and located in a great area with so much to do. Loved the hot tub to come back to after a long day out even if it was raining. Really hope to return. Housekeeper lovely too and sorted out the glitch promptly.
Wow what a lovely place, had an amazing tranquil stay at the chapel. Hot tub was a must, sauna a bonus. Thank you very much. Peter and Trish, BurnhamonCrouch.

The old chapel is in a lovely quiet location. Easy access to attractions in Norfolk. Comfy rooms.Sauna and hot tub extra luxury!
Such a lovely cosy house with everything you need for a relaxing break away from home. So much to do in the area and all within a 35 min drive at the most, many much less than that which is great if you have little people with you as we did. Angie the housekeeper is lovely, easily contactable should you need her and her local knowledge leads to lots of recommendations of places to visit and eat
Joanne
Lovely place to stay. Excellent facilities, although bins in the bathrooms or bedrooms would have been handy and a full size mirror would have been nice. Hot tub and sauna were such a treat as we had glorious weather. Would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay here again. Was lovely to meet Angie the housekeeper, she does an amazing job and was very helpful with any questions we had. Perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Norfolk.

We stayed at The Old Chapel during April 2023 as a family of four children aged 4 and 9 our stay was amazing, the cottage is very well presented with excellent facilities and being well stocked. The welcome pack was a lovely addition and made settling in even easier! The hot tub and sauna were both big hits and enjoyed by us all. The setting is beautiful, and the surrounding area great to explore including Foxley Woods which was a good walk, and other destinations near and far. Angie was lovely, we had a couple of questions which she was able to help with and nothing seemed too much trouble. We will certainly be coming back to The Old Chapel, and thank you so much for letting us stay here!

Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 5 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 7 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 13 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 13 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 13 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 18 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 21 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
