We had a great stay at Spinners Cottage, a charming little cottage with lots of character throughout and great views from the bedrooms and particularly the master bedroom and bathroom! downstairs very tired and furnishings, needs new sofas, front needs painting, weeds infant of hot tub nice plants would make a difference. We had a lovely time.

We spent a lovely weekend in this cottage. 2 couples and 3 dogs. A downside was that the stairs were open plan so we used a car parcel shelf to stop the dogs getting upstairs. The parking area, which is the only outside space, was too small for both cars so the larger car was parked on the road. The hot tub was lovely and clean but the area was craRead moremped which meant getting the cover on and off was tricky. Overall though the cottage was comfy and very well equipped. Hide

Nice location for local walking. Small cottage with comfy beds m. Fine for a short break as somewhere to sleep after a days walking rather than a stay. Hot tub not for the shy reclusive types or those who want any privacy but perfect if a social chat with passers by suits.
Marion
We did use the log burner which was lovely. Definitely not suitable for dogs. "Secure garden" cannot be secured if there are cars in the driveway as the gate can not be closed. Definitely not suitable for anyone with accessibility issues. Lots of steps/stairs and small steps between rooms that could be a hazard. Very lovely cosy cottage, really enjoyed our stay. Good pub 10 mins walk called The Canal Inn, does nice food and dog friendly.

The location is excellent with lots of things to do within an hour of the doorstep. The cottage gave a cozy feel and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hot tub was a lovely addition and gave a lot of privacy. All in all the cottage was clean and tidy but had a few missed areas. Generally enjoyed our stay here.
Chaelyn
A lovely cottage, quite modern whilst keeping it's character. The owners clearly care for their property and it was lovely and clean! A lovely cottage in a very peaceful location. Plenty of walks for the dogs without having to drive anywhere. Bakewell is worth a visit. The Indian restaurant in Crich is very good. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great little gem in a fantastic location. Lots of walks around the area. All very well maintained and clean. We had 3 dogs and a perfect size for us. The cottage was very clean and tidy in a very beautiful village. Plenty of space for parking. Beautiful views from outside the windows and amenities very close by which is a plus. Bedding in first floor bedroom didnt smell clean. Shower leaked into kitchen over gas hob which we reported and ceiling was sealed. As a builder this was not the solution. Not really dog friendly for little dogs as they can escape if not supervised. As we are a couple in our sixties we found it very hilly area very quiet and it's a drive for all amenities.
Claire
Very clean and good location for the Derbyshire Dales - walking and cycling Good parking Comfortable beds
Michelle
This cottage was perfect for visiting everywhere, bed was comfortable and the hot tub was amazing! So relaxing, and so grateful I could take my dogs, highly recommend and will definitely stay again
Melissa
Really lovely property in a fantastic location! Its true - the hot tub is a little on the exposed side as it is on the front porch but efforts have been made to make it as private as possible. Stunning views and the bathtub overlooking the fields was lovely. We had our young baby with us and a high chair and cot were provided. So grateful!
Rachel
Lovely cottage, really clean and well looked after. Hot tub is at the front but privacy still there on a quiet street. Location is quite central. I would definitely recommend.
Kelly
Lovely cottage with great walks and local pubs, definitely stay here again!
Fiona
Beautiful cottage on a residential road. Hot tub an added bonus can feel a little exposed until you get in ! Comfortable bed in the top of the house. We took our dogs but for small breeds be vigilant as they can get under or through the gate at the front. Some lovely walks nearby popped to Belper for a few essentials. Had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again
Nicola
The cottage is ideally situated to visit local points of interest. It is very clean and warm. Kitchen is well equipped and beds comfortable. We visited just recently when the snow was here and the owner was really kind and checked to ensure we were ok. A very nice thought. I would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to return at some point.
Fiona
Lovely cottage, very clean and good location. But we have an elderly dog who found the steps up to the door too much. Worth bearing in mind if you have a similar dog.
Louise
Booked at short notice so didnt get chance to research area but its only a 15 minute drive from matlock. Lovely cottage really clean and hot tub was lovely. So warm and cosy and lovely views.
Sam
A great base for exploring the beautiful area, but does lack attention to detail and a personal feel, a high price for 2, for the little comforts provided.
Jessica
Fantastic homely cottage with a wood burner and hot tub to relax after a day exploring the Peak District and nearby quaint towns. The bedrooms are spacious and the bed we used on the top floor was very comfy, the slipper bath is also an amazing touch with amazing countryside views! I will mention that if youre over 6ft mind your head! The doors are quite low and its wooden stairs over 3 floors so care to be taken, but all in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again!
Claire
Not dog friendly at all ,no gate to front of house so the dog can run straight into road we had one near miss ,there is nowhere for the dog to have a wee first thing in the morning or last thing at night ,neighbours shouted at me for my dog having a wee on the grass verge opposite which was really unpleasant and made me feel very uncomfortable,I ho nestly feel if dogs are welcome then try and solve the issues just put a gate on the front Beautiful cottage stunning inside, such a shame
Sophie
The cottage was nice but the bed on the 2nd floor needs to be replaced as very uncomfortable and creeks. The hot tub was lovely to go in after days out but would be better if it was covered more for privacy as its right at front of house by the main road. Would recommend visiting matlock as short drive away from cottage.
Rebecca
Lovely cottage and location but only suggestion for improvement would be to get a gate fitted to the top of the garden steps. It's really difficult trying to keep a dog contained with no gate to stop them running out on to the road.
David
This was a lovely comfy, cosy house over three floors. Spotlessly clean and well cared for with modern furnishings. For those who commented previously on the lack of TV channels I can only assume that they did not see the Netflix button! However, the hot tub was the highlight for us; easing those muscles in the wide variety of powerful jets at the end of the day. Beautiful with the tub lights in the late summer evenings.
Jacqueline
Outside area very small and disappointing. Not safe for dogs or youngsters as no gate to secure area, a make shift wooden pallet was left thankfully. Had to take dogs out on a lead to go toilet as no room to do so within cottage grounds. No privacy as hot tub and only outside area to sit is at the front of the cottage facing road and neighbors. TV had only 6 random channels and WiFi kept dropping so had to watch using 4g and chrome cast which we had purchase. No equipment supplied to clean.
Julie
Even though it said pets welcome, it wasn't pet friendly. Whenever we sat outside we had to keep our dog on a lead as no gate. An old pallet had been put on the patio I presume to block the entrance but not acceptable really, wouldn't take much to install a proper gate. Had to keep taking the dog across the road to the patch of grass for him to do his duties. Sofa and chairs were very uncomfortable and lowdown took some effort to get out of them.
Lesley
Fantastic cottage, lovely quiet location. With great walks on your doorstep. The only negative point would be for guests staying with dogs. There is no garden only a small walled area to the front and no gate so dogs cannot just be let out as they can wander into the road. Apart from that we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. I would high ly recommend a walk across the fields into Crich to sample the fantastic food and real ales at The Black Swan.
Andrew
The cottage has at some point been renovated to a high standard however some of the furniture is in need of replacement. The sofa and mattress badly sag and are very uncomfortable. Chipped crockery, old cushions, throws and pillows all need changing. The TV dosent receive standard channels just a handful of obscure free view channels. The property accepts dogs but we wouldnt say it was dog friendly as there is no enclosed outside space.. The local pub is definitely worth avoiding!
Maria
Amazing cottage . Beautiful scenery.
Catherine
Lovely cottage and very clean. I did have concerns over no safe outdoor area for my dog as no gates, think it would benefit from gates at the bottom of the property to help because we did have to watch the dog all the time outside. Not for mobility issues as very steep in the cottage with lots of stairs and sofas very low. Hot tubs was lovely but w ould benefit for more privacy as its at the front of the property. Thanks for the few days away for the rest and a nice stay.
Alex
A lovely stay at Spinners Cottage! All the amenities you would need and lovely having a hot tub after a long day exploring. It is worth noting that there is only a front to the cottage to let your dog(s) out but not a problem for us as our dog doesnt go far. Overall really enjoyed the stay and would rebook in the future.
Jacqui
Overall clean cottage and no smell of other dogs, great location for all tourist amenities. Pub down the road is definitely not your quaint little country pub you might have in mind. Owners were really quick to deal with a problem we had. Steep steps up to the cottage with no hand rail so not great for those who aren't as steady on their legs. We h ad 4 dogs and as previous reviews there is no gate, the street is very quiet with little traffic but not great if dogs take a wander.
Kerry
Very nice accommodation but sadly the chlorine in hot tub was way too high and caused us to have chemical burns, sore eyes and highly likely to have induced an asthma attack in my daughter. We then received several upsetting messages as the dog had to left alone in the property which made us decide to leave our holiday early.
Nadia
Lovely cottage. Great facilities. Lovely area. Really enjoyed the hot tub!! Would stay again.
