Green Barn Reviews

We had a great week stay in this property, great base for sightseeing the area, the views are fantastic. Bedrooms are comfortable, the only issue we had was no wardrobes and cupboards so no where to put clothes, there was a pipe with hangers so bear this I mind when you visit, would be good to have a broom or small hoover to keep the areas clean to help after a day out and about also for the end of the period, also a visitor folder with details of the property and instructions of items e,g hot tub, lighting and local amenities and end of rental details. But besides that it's a great cottage and a great host too, so many thanks once again
We had a great week. The barn was comfortable and well presented with stunning views and the owner, Simon, was very helpful
Philip
Fantastic holiday. The Green Barn was all we hoped for. Hot tub a nice touch too. Spacious and well presented. Only thing to improve wilth the property would be storage for clothes in the bedrooms. It is none existant so have to live out of a suitcase.
Lovely property & location. Food at The Pheasant in the village was exceptional thanks for recommending Simon. There is not enough storage in bedrooms for clothes like a chest of drawers so we had to keep in suitcase. We would stay here again.
Great stay very quiet and relaxing but close enough for any trips back for shopping
Had a lovely time exploring around the area.
Amanda
Beautiful barn conversion cottage comfy beds lots of hot water and good ... Beautiful barn conversion cottage comfy beds lots of hot water and good showers great size kitchen and living area very dog friendly and only 1520 minutes into Sheffield where our kids are at Uni Good walks from doorstep and super dog friendly cottage with stone floors all downstairs We visited Wentworth House whilst there and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park both 30 mins

We had a fabulous stay at the barn over new year. What a great conversion.....many original features with high quality fixtures and fittings and a superb view. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub....a little pagoda with some lights would be perfect in providing a little bit of wind protection. The downstairs shower perfect after a muddy dog walk and we raved about the 'pipe radiator ' in the great communal space which we took full advantage of! Our only comment would be a bit of a cozy squeeze on the sofa for 6 adults
Ylenia
It was a great stay!
We had a very well deserved rest at the barn we was blown away with how beautiful it was. Everything was there that you needed only thing missing was a first aid kit. Will definitely recommend to friends and im sure we will be back to visit again
Lesley
We had a lovely few days at Greenbarn. We thought storm babete would stop us using the hot tub but luckily the weather brightened & we managed to use it several times. The barn is a lovely size for a group of 6, plenty of room & facilities were excellent. Would recommend
What a fab place Green Barn is. The owner Simon is very friendly and helpful. It is a stunning conversion that is very tastefully decorated and furnished. It definitely has plenty of kitchen equipment and utensils. Stunning views and a great hot tub!
A lovely cottage, loads of space, a couple of minor issues dealt with immediately. Highly recommended
Very well equipped and tastefully fitted out barn conversion. This is located in an extremely quiet hamlet just outside Oughtibridge. Sheffield is just a 10 minute drive, but if you go the other direction you are presented with miles of open countryside. Its a great location. Oughtibridge has a number of pubs and takeaways I recommend The Pheasant Going back to the accommodation, there are some lovely touches. The kitchen is amazing with a massive central island made from railway sleepers. as are many things around the accommodation. A huge fridge freezer, dishwasher, loads of cutlery and utensils and lots of crockery and glasses. We have been to so many places where there are 4 cups and four plates etc. Not here! Also downstairs is a marvellous utility room with loads of space for all the muddy shoes, coats etc. Bedrooms are all doubles and beds are extremely comfortable . The master bedroom has an ensuite and huge French windows giving the most amazing view. Minor criticism is that the rooms could do with a bit more storage for clothes. There is a downstairs toilet and shower. Beautiful family bathroom upstairs with twin wash basins and walk in shower. en suite also has a walk in shower. The showers were excellent though the owner might want to think about fitting a glass screen, as its easy to flood the floor. The living area is comfy and has a massive 78 inch smart TV. Everyone loved this. Another feature of this place is all the lighting. There are lights everywhere enabling you to create whatever lighting mood you like. The only problem was knowing which switches to turn on and offdim. I think I counted 32 light switches downstairs. I think it would be a good idea to label them or do a diagram,! Outside, garden furniture is plentiful with a big outdoor sofa and table set outside the front and another nest to the private hot tub. The hot tub is huge and was very pleasant. Its a few yards away from the house and when its dark could do with a bit of outside lighting, but again a minor issue. The owner , Simon is a great host, very welcoming and always available to contact if you need anything. Plenty of private parking. There is a large lawned area big enough to exercise a dog, which is shared with the other cottage on the same piece of land. Overall, highly recommended .

Green Barn is an excellent newlycreated barn conversion, with large openplan areas downstairs, a wellequipped kitchen, plenty of seating, and places to hang wet clothes and leave muddy boots. Upstairs theres a large main bedroom with ensuite, two further doubles which are large and airy, and a superb family bathroom. Outside the seating area overlooks the communal lawn and car park. At the far side of the shared car park area is the hot tub, with great views, but it is quite cut off from the house, and overlooked. There is no practical gate to the outside quiet road, and no barriers to the nextdoor house, so we had to keep our border collie under tight control.
We had a lovely week, the cottage is finished to a very high standard the hot tub is awesome, it comfortably seated 5 of us and looked out onto a beautiful view of rolling hills. We had several home cooked meals during our stay including a Sunday roast and didnt want for anything in the beautiful well equipped kitchen. The location is great for access to both the Peak District and Sheffield so with two teens we did a mix of town and country and everyone was happy. We highly recommend the Pheasant pub where we had a lovely walk to, and meal one evening, but be prepared for some moderate hills to climb on your way back if walking into Oughtibridge we are from perfectly flat East Anglia so the kids had a bit of a shock
Had a fab short break at Green Barn. The property is gorgeous and provides everything you need. Simon was a great host, answering any queries straight away! Would highly recommendyou wont be disappointed!
Stuart
Great place lovely views . But if you want a hot tube that is private from anybody directly seeing you then this place may not be for you. But I would recommend this place if the hot tube issue is not a problem . The owner has done an excellent job of converting this barn.
On arrival to Green Barn we were met by the owners, Simon and Amy. Green Barn was just as listed with amazing views and open countryside. We arrived before 3pm and were shown around and given instructions on using the kitchen appliances and given lots of menus and guidance on where to eat and get take aways. We were amazed at the facilities as soon as we entered the cottage. Bespoke kitchen with a huge central island which was a feature of the downstairs.. very clean and bright with big doors leading out onto a patio. The owners had purchased new luxurious patio furniture and a brand new BBQ was ready for us to enjoy. The 3 bedrooms upstairs were all good sizes. The master had amazing views of the country side through big double doors with a glass Juliet balcony. The en suite was tastefully done with a wet room shower. The 2 other rooms had a main bathroom next to them with a luxurious free standing bath and his and hers sink. Also a wet room room shower to complete the look. A real wow factor! Everything done with great taste and super quality. The beds and pillows were very comfortable with good quality linen. The out door facilities were excellent. Plenty of seating for 6 people and A hot tub to make the weekend relaxing and very chilled. . We went to the local shops and pubs in the village of Oughtibridge and also had a delicious Chinese take away from the Cantonese next to the village store. All of the local people were very friendly. Would definitely recommend Green Barn to everyone. Views to die for! Facilities and accommodation of a very high standard. The owners should be proud of what they have achieved. A big Thank you from The Briers Family.
A fantastic location with stunning views, very comfortable and well appointed. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought and work into the fittings and fixtures. Excellent local village, with a surprising number of very welcoming and good quality pubs. Particularly enjoyed the pheasant and hare and hounds.
Fabulous stay. Great location. Cottage is gorgeous with great facilities and everything you could possibly need. Large open plan layout downstairs makes for a wonderful area to relax and enjoy even on a rainy day with 3 kids of a wide age range. Simon the owner was very friendly and helpful offering advice on local area and amenities. 100 recommend and will return.
Everything needed was there such as towels, cleaning products, toiletries. Brilliant views and quiet location. Hanging space or drawers needed to put clothes in two of the bedrooms.
We had a great stay! The cottage was lovely, good location, clean and had everything we needed. Fast WiFi, big TV and all the amenities were high spec and worked perfectly. The heated rail for drying wet walking gear was the best!! Thanks again for a really good stay! The snow did not affect the holiday it made it more fun!
We had an excellent stay. Simon was helpful and on hand. Good pub recommendations from him. Beautiful location and great views. Plenty of space for 6 adults to relax after the hurleyburley of Christmas. Just a shame the weather didnt play ball but to be expected in January.
