Lillie's Shepherds Hut at Shepherds Lodge Reviews

Rachel
We had the most amazing time staying in Lillies hut. Its the perfect getaway for 2. The hut had everything you could want and is beautifully presented. It offers the best cosy winter feeling. There are some really lovely finishing touches throughout the hut which make it extra special. We were well looked after by the owner who is full of helpful advice about the local area. We will be coming back for sure.

Went with partner for his birthday and really had a great time! Very tranquil and peaceful place with a lovely local area! We came down on train and biked from bottesford trainstation easily had no problems getting around! Never had any issues whilst staying there but Chris was a really helpful and friendly host! Would 100 recommend for a relaxing weekend away!

Chris was an amazing host, he was always on hand to help us out, answer any questions and make recommendations. We would definitely visit and again and would recommend to anyone considering visiting. Thank you so much for an enjoyable stay!
My son and I stayed at Lillies Shepherds hut for 3 nights. And we had such a lovely break. Its in the middle of the fields, with no traffic noise, and plenty of nature. We didnt even feel like going anywhere the first day, wanted just enjoy the place. We absolutely loved the hot tub. And in fact we liked the natural way of heating it with the solid fuel. The first day took a little longer to heat it around 40 minutes, which is not too bad but next day it was still warm and we did a lot quicker. The only one suggesting is to have a cover over the tub, in case it rains. We had a golf umbrella and it covered us completely just after we went in and it started to rain. There are plenty of places around there is a short distance. Belvoir castle is only 10 minutes drive. Alpacas farm is 25 minutes. And plenty other things. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back again.

Our stay at lillies hut was amazing! It was so quiet and relaxing for us for our little mini break. Chris was so welcoming and kind. He took the time to come over to see us and have a little chat from time to time. We will 100 be booking to come here again!
Amazing 2 days away! Lovely little hut Lillies Hut. Very peaceful. Nice 20 minutehalf hour walk to the shop or pub that serves food. Chris the owner was very accommodating and helpfull, helping us get the hot tub fire going. Would highly recommen and would definitely like to go back.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was everything we could have wanted. The location of the hut is stunning and so is the hut itself. The reality of the hut is exactly the same as the photographs. The double bed was super comfy and the light up stars above seemed very romantic. The hut was clean and cosy. The log burned hot tub was so relaxing and that is where we spent most of our time. We also loved spending time relaxing in the hammock and sat around the fire pit. Chris, the owner, helped us with every question we had and nothing was too much trouble for him. I will 100 be recommending Lillie's Hut to familyfriends and my partner and I will definitely be coming back for special occasions.
We had an amazing time, it was so relaxing, the wood fired hot tub was a bonus. We would highly recommend this place if you want a peaceful get away. Chris the host is a lovely friendly man, which nothing is to much trouble for, He provided lots of useful information about the area and places to see.

Realty enjoyed our stay, the property was beautiful, clean and well maintained. Everything needed was provided including logs for the fire and even milk and fresh orange juice which was prefect for breakfast. Little things like that made the stay very enjoyable and felt like you were looked after. Chris and Helen were both lovely and very helpful, providing recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Overall our trip was excellent and would recommend to anybody else looking for a getaway. We are definitely keen to return and experience the lovely surroundings in the summer, the huts positioned around the pond would be ideal on a summers evening. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
A very comfortable stay with such a beautiful setting. Its clear that a lot of time, effort and love has gone into these huts. We had a fantastic two night break and despite the mud English autumn! we enjoyed it immensely. Wellies are a must, but this is one of the cosiest breaks we have for a long time. Cannot recommend enough.
Loved our time at Lillies Hut. Weve already recommended others come here to stay. Well no doubt be back at some point!

We stayed for our 1st wedding anniversary and we were over the moon with the cabin. Beautiful to look at and very comfortable. Only thing that would have been better is some chairs around the fire pit. But besides that. 1010
We have had a fantastic stay in Lillies Hut, we even got to meet Lillie herself who is absolutely gorgeous. The hut was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 night break. The area was peaceful and we saw some fantastic wildlife. To open your door and be greeted with the pond, ducks, butterflies and birds was completely delightful. The hot tub was easy to use and so relaxing. The hut has some lovely little details and we were able to watch the stars both outside and inside, it is these details that made our stay extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Chris was fantastic, he was available to help if we needed it and gave us some great information about the area and where to visit, he was a very friendly host. We would and will recommend Shepherds Lodge and can't wait to go back.
Callum
The whole experience was extremely relaxing and enjoyable with great service provided by the hosts. The only down side was getting the hot tub started but that was soon resolved. For us the roaming dogs were a pleasant surprise, however it might be ideal to have a warning on the website as someone might be allergic or be afraid of dogs. Other than that we would definitely recommend this place and will be returning in the future.
