Hollinwell View Reviews

A very well equipped house with everything you could need and the really helpful hosts just a text message away. The reclining sofa and TV with Netflix were very welcome and the large hot tub was fantastic after a day out. The owners, Jackie and Mick, maintain it daily when you are out, so it is superclean. A cross trainer in the garage was used daily by a daughter. The farreaching view is incredible from the decking and patio windows. A great base for exploring we went to so many places, from four National Trust properties to Cromford Mill, Bakewell and the Derbyshire Dales. Plus, Newstead Abbey and Papplewick Pumping Station are both on the doorstep and fascinating. A fun stay!
Fantastic accommodation, fantastic hosts.

Hollinwell View is a lovely house, Jackie and Mick are very welcoming and cater to their guests. The house is well stocked with essentials and the welcome goodies are a nice thought. The house is in a good location to explore the Peak District and the hot tub is lovely to enjoy after a day out especially after a long walk. We really enjoyed our stay at Hollinwell View.

A really lovely comfortable place to stay. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. The view from the back of the house is genuinely amazing and very peaceful. The owners are thoughtful and helpful. Overall, excellent stay.

Absolutely fabulous house, spotlessly clean, every imaginable thing you think you may need is provided
Elizabeth
They were amazing hosts. Came every day to ensure the hottub was clean and that we had what we needed. They always texted first. We never had the opportunity to meet as we were mostly out with family when they would come by but they were truly the best hosts we could have asked for. The property was incredible as well.
What a find! The house was warm and comfortable. The hot tub was perfect at the end of the day, and well maintained. We brought the usual selfcatering supplies, but used little of it as so many things were already provided. Easy walk to find something to eat or a newspaper. Jackie and Mick were smashing hosts, greeting us as we arrived to give us a tour of the house. All communication from them was friendly and useful. And oh yes, the view from the garden. Absolutely stunning. We will definitely be returning!
What a gem! Five stars! We stayed for four nights and it was absolutely fantastic. The owners were so lovely and communicated with me right after booking to check how old my goddaughter was so they could put a few toys for her to play with. Upon arrival we were over the moon with the property and the breathtaking view from the garden. Every room was clean and laid out for comfort with lots of little extras like fresh dressing gowns, individual slippers bagged ones and a beautiful towel swan on the double bed. The owners popped round briefly they asked first and showed us how everything worked, especially with the hot tub and they were so accommodating and friendly. We had everything we could need in the house with plenty of little extras popping up the whole time such as boxes of toiletries, fresh juice in the fridge, super helpful welcome book and so much more. Now the garden, what can I say but perfect. The hot tub was super clean, right temperature and just the best for taking in the awesome views. The garden was safe and laid out just right if you had children with you and lots of seating around so you can enjoy the view and space. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday with lots of great places to visit close by and this lovely house to come back to and relax. I highly recommend visiting this house.
What a wonderful holiday home and fabulous hosts. The cottage was so clean, comfortable and welcoming. The welcome pack was the best I've sampled. The log burner was so cosy and perfect to relax in front of in the evenings, particularly as we experienced a lot of snow. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by snow and soaking up the views was magical. There was plenty to do round and about. Jacky and Mick were our hosts and nothing was too much trouble. I broke a set of kitchen tongs, I let Jacky know and there was a replacement set waiting on the step when we returned to the cottage! a complete 5 star holiday thank you!

We had an excellent stay at Hollinwell View to celebrate my partners 40th birthday. The trip got off to a lovely start when we were greeted by Jackie and Mick, they made us feel so welcome, gave us a quick tour of the building and made sure we knew where everything was and anything we may need to know. There was a lovely welcome hamper which was a really sweet touch and a great selection of goodies for our stay. The house is really well equipped we had everything that we could possibly need during our stay. The rooms were really comfortable and cosy. The hot tub was such a luxurious treat, and although it was too cold to dine alfresco I can imagine in summer that would be a real treat. The views from the house and garden are really something too. Whilst there we visited Lammas leisure centre a few times for the swimming, tag active and ice skating. Kirkby leisure centre for climbing. We also had a great day out at wheelgate fun park which went down very well with our 9 year old. The whole trip was so lovely and we will certainly look to return.

Jackie and Mick were the most incredible hosts! They were so accommodating, so friendly and so thoughtful with every detail. Not to mention their place is so cosy and comfortable, fitted with absolutely everything you need and more! Upon entering, we noticed how generously equipped everything was, and it was all so clean and beautifully arranged. The hot tub was lush! The neighbours were also lovely and we took their recommendations for seeing a few things around the area. It was such a restful break! Thank you Jackie and Mick for the loveliest time!
My Partner and I visited for a break and had such a wonderful stay. We we're greeted by Mick and Jackie who are exceptional hosts and there was a lovely welcome pack for us too. Jackie let us know about a meteor shower during our stay, and I have to say the highlight of our visit was watching the shooting stars pass whilst toasty in the hot tub. Absolutely recommend. Thank you.
It was a wonderful experience. The house was spotless and the owners were so accommodating.
Lovely owners honestly couldnt ask for more from their home or them. Everything has been steadily thought out and the home is designed to quite a high standard. Very ideal location with a local shop only a 5 minute walk or 30 second drive round the corner. Located also in a culdesac, so it is very quiet and discrete, with neighbours that are very welcoming and warm just like Jackie&Mick. Hot tub and little cocktail bar is a lovely touch and a gentle reminder to let loose and enjoy yourself! Literally the only thing that I could recommend is maybe putting a tv in the double bedroom. Was a nice touch in the other room, but maybe just adding another tv in the double. Other than that, 264664 out of 10. Well done!

'Hidden treasure' is the best way to describe Hollinwell House, it was an absolute pleasure to stay here with the family as all five of us were very comfortable indeed with plenty of open space inside and out with some of the nicest views around! The hosts were both extremely welcoming and have done a great job with the house as they have truly thought of everything for the guests, very very clean with all facilities in perfect working order. We will certainly be back as this is a perfect location to visit our family in both directions of the house, also with lovely walks around down to Newstead Abbey that i would recommend. Thank you again to Jackie and Mick from us all.
We had a lovely stay, the house was perfectly clean and you were so kind to leave ice pops for our children. We also were very thankful for you sorting the stair gates and cot. thank you so much. Joey and Helen

The hosts of this property are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our trip comfortable, providing for our two young children. The garden hot tub and views are amazing! Thanks again!
Joshua
Very welcoming and accommodating for our stay. Went above and beyond to make our stay extra special.

Lovely property, exceptional views! The pictures dont do justice. The owners were lovely and thought of every detail, great attention to detail with little finishing touches which really made our stay a pleasant and enjoyable one! Highlight was the hot tub, amazing weather and the stunning views! Even had a pretty rainbow over us. Will definitely be returning! Thank you for such a lovely stay
Property and property owners cannot be faulted, everything was fantastic

The house is so beautiful I love to see nice views and the hot tub is so brilliant we r so happy and house is so good clean and Jackie and mick r so wonderful they made sure if we r okay and very care they r so good friend we will go back again
The house and garden were excellent. The house was very well equipped throughout and we were very comfortable. The hot tub and the views were the highlights but everything added to a lovely long weekend. The house was spotlessly clean and the hosts had thought of everything to make for an enjoyable stay. There was a lovely welcome package, including chocolate and prosecco, as well as good appliances and kitchen equipment. Everything was very stylish and the beds were very comfortable. There was also lots to do in the area and we wished we had more time to explore. Jackie and Mick, the hosts, were exceptional. They ensured we had everything we needed and offered advice and help on things to do. We definitely want to return for more relaxation looking at the amazing view from the very well designed and finished holiday home.
Really lovely house which has everything you could want, logs for the fire, WiFi, hottub and a lovely welcome basket. The hosts Jackie and Mick are welcoming and look after you. Definitely recommend
Jessica
