About The Old Pump House

Kirkby in Ashfield 3.7 miles and 5 miles from Hucknall. The Old Pump House is a charming, unique abode resting in the countryside of Annesley Village, nestling between Kirkby in Ashfield and Hucknall.

With incredible attention to detail, truly breath-taking features, and a delightful contemporary touch, this unusual home is ideal for a group of couples, friends, or a family looking to find a tranquil getaway to Nottinghamshire. Accessed by a private lane, be welcomed by off-road parking, and take in the characterful exterior of this property, built in the late 1890s, and enter into a large, vaulted hallway.

The features of this former Victorian pump house can be enjoyed here, with vaulted cathedral ceilings boasting incredible original pumphouse wooden and metal industrial beams, and on the floor, there is the fantastic feature of a circle of glass, allowing guests to see the well below. When mealtimes call, the kitchen is whitewashed and contemporary, housing integrated appliances to cater to your culinary needs, a dining space at the breakfast bar, and a handy utility.

Indulge in a hearty meal in the dining space below the mezzanine, beside the large and characterful doors, before retiring to the sitting area where there are bifold doors opening onto the garden. On the ground floor you will find the first two of the six large spacious bedrooms, serviced by a sleek separate ground-floor bathroom.

Ascend the stairs, passing the delightful original glazed brick walls and a sitting area on the mezzanine, and here you will find one king-size and three double bedrooms with charming original shaped windows and tasteful décor, two with en-suite shower rooms, and one is a mezzanine room with included sofa bed, and a simply beautiful en-suite free-standing bath. When the sun is shining, head outside and enjoy a tipple in the large garden, with views across to the rear of Newstead Country Park, backing on to Newstead Abbey or why not take an indulgent dip in the hot tub?
