The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained, whilst the surrounding area is a haven for walkers; head north to the Mitchell’s Fold Stone Circle, a 3000-year-old monument nestled in grazing fields, or head south to the Bury Ditches and explore this British Iron Age hill fort.
Nestled on the border of England and Wales, the lively market town of Bishop’s Castle is nearby and home to listed timber framed buildings, quaint shops and a “House on Crutches'', whilst Montgomery, Shrewsbury and Ludlow are all a short drive away. Spend an afternoon exploring the National Trust’s Powis Castle and Garden, a medieval castle rising dramatically above the celebrated garden or hop on board the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway and journey through the beautiful Mid Wales countryside.
