The Pig Shed -Sty 2 Reviews

We had a 3 night stay ,family of 3 , my wife ,daughter of 10 years old , myself and our 2 dogs. The pig shed was immaculate, vey clean and very nicely decorated to a modern look. The beds were excellent, and showers were good too. The views out the fenced off garden were very nice indeed. We loved the hot tub . When we arrived the owner left us some fresh eggs and milk and had a jar of treats for the dogs , that was a very nice gesture. The only little thing that I thought could be improved would be some more comfortable garden furniture to sit out on while watching the sunset . We all enjoyed our short stay, very peaceful and beautiful location and accommodation. I would recommend to anyone looking for a few relaxing days away .
Just perfect will go back
Christian
We had a fantastic time at the pig sty, which gave us a great base to explore from. The swing seat was an added bonus to watch the sunset

We had a wonderful relaxing week at the Pig Shed. The property had picturesque views all around over rolling country side. We throughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the surrounding area which was needed for our weeks stay. The property had all the amenities in it that we required for our stay. The beds were lovely and comfortable, felt like we were in a luxury hotel and the two showers were very spacious. We had a small issue with the hot tub but Peter soon came out and the issue was resolved straight away he couldnt of been more helpful.. Would highly recommend anyone to stay at the pig shed.

A beautiful setting and the accommodation has a lovely homely feel. Fully equipped kitchen with plenty of storage, comfortable roomy beds high hotel style, nice showers, lovely sofas and the added bonus of a hot tub with amazing views. We could quite easily live there, a perfect rural retreat. The owners Peter & Paula are very friendly and so are the locals. There are public footpathsbridleways close to the property and plenty of places to visit by car in the area. Really enjoyed Ludlow, a historic town with a castle
What a fabulous place to stay, lots of space, beautiful gardens, deer, rabbits and lots of birds ! Host greeted us on arrival very friendly with lots of local information as well as a huge set of resources on local places of interest in the house. House was excellent, clean and well equipped with everything we needed.
First of all, the holiday cottage was 5 STAR and couldn't fault the accommodation. Frankly although the cottage was beautiful and also the area we didn't find it good for dog walking, walking on the roads to access areas where we could exercise the dog could be dangerous. I certainly had to keep my wits about me with blind bends and cars travelling too fast for the conditions. Most of the surrounding fields contained sheep, I found accessright of way blocked off and I couldn't get over the style myself, never mind having a dog? This location is more suited for ramblers I'd say. One observation, I'd let anyone booking with Sykes cottages know about 68.00 booking fee up front. This wasn't mentioned until I was confirming to booking. The location, Tenbury was our saving grace finally somewhere we could let the dog off the lead as he's trained. Finally thank you to Peter and Paula, beautiful cottage, very comfortable.

We felt a hair dryer and ironironing board is an everyday essential which they didn't have. Cleaning equipment not adequate...could have done with a few more clothes t towels etc...together with a couple of clean mopheads...as one that was there was dirty. Also could have some cleaning fluid for the floors. We were sent to another cottage in the area via satnav so maybe specific detail guiding you to the cottage as picture on your site is of the back view not the view you see on arrival.
This was a wonderful holiday The accommodation was very clean and you had everything you needed. Very quiet and private the jacuzzi was the perfect relaxing with views and sunsets .
Andrew
Better lighting on patio

Very enjoyable stay. Nice views and a very quite location. Relaxing in the hot tub watching all the animals was lovely.

Great stay at pig sty 2. Great area to stay and we hope to be back to explore some more. The condition of the property was lovely and some nice touches throughout making it a very homely stay. Beds were comfy and everything you need to have a relaxing time is provided. Only small issue we had was the security light was on and off all night which would shine in the front bedroom window we put a blanket over the window which helped. There were dog towels and blankets supplied on arrival which was also a nice bonus. Hot tub was very clean and hot on arrival and the views were great from the garden area. Good showers also in the property. The owner was friendly and introduced herself when we arrived. Highly recommended and it is certainly a hidden gem in the Worcestershire countryside.
Hi Unfortunately we had to leave on Tuesday as the accomodation proved unsuitable for my mom who is partially diasabled. She found it very difficult to get up from the sofas as they were very low down and even more difficult to get in and out of the beds as they are extremely high up! myself and my sister also struggled to get onto the beds, I have never has this problem before! The point of requesting a Barn was so that we had no stairs etc to negotiate, but never in a million years would have thought about the height of the beds. I spoke to Paula on our departure who just said they were hotel quality beds and couldnt do anything about them and if we had asked she could have provided a step! this I thought was very unfair as had my mom used it and it slipped then we could potentially had been looking at a broken hip. I think this needs to be addressed in the details to avoid this happening to anyone else and spoiling their holiday as well.
Elaine
Stunning and quiet location. Very relaxing feel to the lodge. Very helpful information pack. Super clean. Lovely owners. Perfect location if you like walks. Overall, if a relaxing break is what you want, this is a place to stay at.

Pig Sty 2 Feb 10th 17th Location wonderful views across the Teme Valley we had some glorious sunsets. The living space is generous with very comfortable beds, although they were excessively high and the very efficient castors caused us some problems. The large showers were good yet due to the high step a handle to help enter and leave them, would have been useful. The kitchen is well equipped with adequate utensils and a very generous selection of glassware. Our booking was for 7 nights and after 4 nights we asked for fresh towels. No was the reply! We were disappointed by this as other places we have stayed have made this possible or there has been laundry facilities available for us to refresh them ourselves. The spa was most enjoyable however we were unaware of any daily maintenance being carried out even when we were there all day.
Annette
The booking procedure was easy and we were provided with regular emails leading up to our visit with lots of information. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and we were greeted by a very helpful Paula, who provided lots of information for areas to walk the dog and the best places to park in the town. It was peaceful and comfortable and provided everything we needed for a nice quiet weekend. It was lovely to be able to relax in the hot tub and The views are stunning. We did try to go out for dinner on the Saturday evening with the dog but unfortunately most places were booked, so I would suggest planning ahead and booking for weekend dinners or Sunday lunches. Apart from that, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend this property. Thankyou Peter & Paula
We really enjoyed staying at the Pig Shed. The place was spotless, comfortable and relaxing. The area is beautiful with plenty of places to visit. The owners are friendly and helpful . We highly recommend .
Rachael
Our second visit to the Pig Shed and weve lived every minute. The photos on the website dont do it justice. Its beautiful and sooo comfortable ! It has everything you could need. Dont hesitate .. get booking, you wont be disappointed!
Excellent for a quiet relaxed vacation. The property was well equipped and living accommodation was comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers were absolutely fabulous. One of our party of 4 ventured into the hot tub and thoroughly enjoyed it although the weather was not brilliant when we visited, weather permitting the tub would have been in use daily!! We certainly can recommend the property for complete peace and quiet.
Rachael
An fabulous, luxurious and extremely comfortable property. We had so much fun & relaxation. The view is staggering, the owners are friendly but respect guests privacy. We booked a 2nd stay while we were still there.
Alastair
All ready recommend to a neighbour. We had a lovely stay. It is very clean with every comfort for your stay. Set in very peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
Joanna
This is a little gem, the view is absolutely soul lifting. The welcome basket and half a dozen eggs was lovely. The owners were very amenable. The hot tub was serviced when we were out. The super king beds were wonderful. The peace and tranquility was very welcome along with the wildlife. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch at Pembroke House. We would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be back.
Needs a new tin opener couldn't open salmon had to bring it back home. Some glasses were chipped and cut lip. Glass was left in the cupboard.
Great place, fantastic views. Had a wonderful stay
An excellent place to stay. Beautifully decorated and extremely relaxing. Everything is catered for and thought of by Peter and Paula. I cant recommend the pig sty enough. Will definitely be back again.
A gorgeous property with more than just the essentials. Attention to detail was great and the owners were so accommodating from the off set. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Victoria
We stayed at this property during August 2021 and must admit we were rather disappointed. The interior of the property was very nice, however the outside space was very small, not at all what the pictures suggested as there was wire fencing immediately behind the hot tub, rendering the outdoor space very tiny. Also the partition between the two holiday lets was poor and very impersonal! It was pointed out by our next door hosts that we could have used the owners personal gardens, however this was not fully explained to us. When we stayed here we took our well behaved dog, unfortunately we left him in the property after our arrival as we needed to go grocery shopping as the property is self catering and we had driven 4 hours, but within 10 minutes of leaving the property I received a very curt text from the owner telling me to immediately return to the property as I had broken the terms and conditions of our holiday rental sadly something which I have never experienced before when staying in numerous properties with a dog. Please note that owners check the hot tub daily between 11am1pm, which I personally found extremely intrusive and this was not mentioned on the instructions when booking. The owners also shut the gates to the parking area immediately infront of the property by 8pm. Sadly my experience of this property poor and not as listed, we so I left early. Sadly we did not enjoy my stay at this property at all and would not return. Very disappointing!
Andrew
Fabulous place to stay , lovely hosts and so many beautiful places to visit we loved it
Nicola
Would like to say beautiful place and wonderful views, shame there wasnt a bit more privacy with the neighbours, especially when in the hot tub, would also recommend they have a umbrella outside, it gets very hot, also if it rains for the hot tub. We did enjoy our stay but would have liked more privacy outside.
Lesley
Beautiful accommodation for 4 adults and a dog. Couldnt fault anything. Stunning rural area truly relaxing watching wildlife from the hot tub. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Accommodation was lovely and perfect for exploring the area.
Ashley
The booking process was very easy and the app very useful. Checking in was super slick and the cottage was gorgeous, well equipped, clean from top to bottom.
This place was absolutely fabulous. Modern, clean in a lovely location with plenty to do and the star of the place was the wood burner. When its cold outside, what could be more inviting than watching a wood burner whilst drinking your favourite tipple. We had a great weekend
Stephen
Nice place to stay. The hot tub was great nice temperature.
Beautiful view from the living room and jacuzzi. .. lovely walks on the doorstep. Dogs and humans enjoyed the lovely peaceful break we had.
Tracey
Just returned from a lovely break, beautiful setting with wonderful views and very clean.
Richard
Cutlery needs review ie no tea spoons. Desert spoons were large enough to be table spoons. Wall clock would be nice? Otherwise all good.
Easy to book and answered any questions quickly. Property was very spacious, clean and owners kept in contact the week before and on the day to give details and key collection. The barn is in a beautiful part of the country, peaceful with amazing views. You will not be disappointed
