The Old School House At Sea View Reviews

Raymond
A really lovely pace to stay, pool table needs attention, well equipped, loved the hot tub, the dogs loved the garden.
Sarah
Lovely house, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, mini kit for dogs, good size games room, great for a large family group. There is an Aga oven, which makes it a bit slower to cook, so hard doing a large meal. We also had to supply extra toilets rolls, but the shop isn't far away. We weren't disturbed and were able to make ourselves comfy. Living roRead moreom and kitchen are small, but extra dining area and games room to spread out. Hide

A lovely spacious house with plenty of outside space too. Very well equipped for a large number of people and very comfortable beds. However, while the lounge was comfortable there wasn't sufficient seats for everyone to be together. Luckily we had children with us so they were happy not to sit in there.
Linda
The Old school house was a great find that we rented for my sisters surprise 60th birthday celebrations. It was nice cosy when we arrived. The house was lovely and clean comfy beds and lovely fresh towels for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped it had everything we needed for our stay. Loads of space to spread yourself out so if you want some qRead moreuiet time to yourself. The kids and adults loved the games room and playing the piano. Lovely secure garden for the kids to play in. We will return ! Hide

Great holiday home for groups and large families. Plenty of living spaces to get together. We particularly liked the dining space and having a piano in the games room was a bonus. It was winter so we didnt manage to take advantage of the outdoor space other than the hottub which was lovely. We recommend.

House was stunning, facilities were amazing, communication was great, location was beautiful. This house had everything we needed for 16 (8 adults and 8 children) to spend a fantastic weekend together (for the first time in nearly 10 years). It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and we really appreciated the high quality kitchen equipment (whRead moreich is usually lacking in many holiday cottages). Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for others to enjoy. Hide

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 7 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 13 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 20 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 22 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 25 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 29 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
