Henry Haven Reviews

Lovely stay and the lodge was cozy. However we were slightly disappointed that there was no tea, coffee and milk on arrival. There was also no instructions on how to use the kitchen appliances, or other equipment.
Amazing loved it will defo be goig back loved the scenery hot tub garden centre
Andrew
Loved our short stay at Henry Haven, very comfortable and well appointed, everything you could need. The Hot tub was the main reason we booked, after a bit of jiggling round the outdoor furniture, for privacy, we felt private but could look out onto the lake at the side of the property. The access drive you can see, is just to your property, so no one is passing by. It was a peaceful location, you need a car really, but if you are into walking, not too far into Garstang. Highly recommend, perfect for couples, would stay every month if we could afford it, was perfect, cant wait to go again!!
Absolutely brilliant and beautiful place and did not disappoint at all. The place was that nice I wanted to buy it haha. Cant recommend enough

The standard of the lodge was top class , the setting was lovely and quiet . Thoroughly enjoyed our short break and wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Amazing lodge! Very private and hot tub was tucked away so no one could see when you took the lid off. Very comfy bed and sofa! Very spacious. There is Bluetooth speaker built into the ceiling which we didnt discover until our last night but was amazing when we found it.
Richard
One of the best places we have stayed , so peaceful and lovely in all respects
Nicola
We are just home after spending 5 nights here and we were totally blown away. The cabin is absolutely stunning and immaculately clean, the owner has literally thought of everything and the decor is beautiful. Beds were super comfortable, hot tub was fantastic and the location is like a little piece of heaven. I'm already missing waking up the ducks and ducklings in the pond right outside the cabin. We had frequent visits from little Roxy the dog who we are all totally in love with and she made the stay really special especially for my young daughter. We stay in a cabin every year and this is by far the best one so far. So quiet and tranquil and everything you could ever want for a peaceful break away from the daily grind. The only negative part was having to leave. Thank you so much Hayley we will definitely be back. Nikki x
Rachel
Really lovely lodge in a beautiful peaceful location. Partner impressed with the 4k TV. I loved watching the wildlife. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Was a really relaxing break, which is what we'd hoped for.
Amazing location, log cabin was beautiful really clean had everything we needed. Only slight issue was the heating the first day we never had any hot water or heating and couldnt have a shower, then the second day the water completely went off for about an hour and again we couldnt have a shower and was delayed going out. Overall good stay.
Rodney
We really enjoyed our weeks stay at the bowers. Everything was perfect and certainly the best cottage we have stayed at. The touching Anniversary balloon was a nice gesture as it was our golden wedding anniversary the day we arrived.Roxy the dog was an added bonus as it kept coming to meet us when we arrived back after a day out. We will definitely be returning
Stayed Jan 2024. 3 Guests. Overall the accommodation was what we expected in that it was well presented, clean and tidy. Great location. We rated the stay 4 star due to the following Upon arrival accommodation was very cold, the heating was off. There are typed instructions for a number of things but the heating wasnt one of them. 3 guests and only 1 towel for the hot tub. No steps provided to gain access to the hot tub. No toilet roll holders in either bathroom. Only one bath towel. Only one toilet roll. No shower mat. Remote control for NETFLIX was broken. Not required though No instructions for operation of TV. No welcome pack, i.e. TeaCoffee and milk. Wouldnt mind paying an additional fee for that These little things make the difference. We would definitely use Sykes again, but would expect to see those minor details addressed. Attention to detail makes a more memorable vacation.
We really enjoyed our time there, it was very peaceful and relaxing. The lodge is warm, bright, and has all the equipment and facilities one would expect, plus a superb bluetooth sound system. The hottub is clean and obviously well maintained. The bed is very comfortable and the shower provide plenty of hot water. The only negative point is that we didn't find the sofa very comfortable but this might be more to do with us than the sofa.
After a bad experience is another stay we found the Bowers and booked last minute in a desperate attempt to get our break back on track! We both really enjoyed the peaceful stay at the Bowers & the lodge was impeccably clean & facilities spot on. Very comfortable bed, warm, good wifi & great hot tub! Would recommend to anyone and will be to my family!
Had a great stay at the bowers. The lodge was really modern, loads of unexpected amenities Bluetooth, nespresso machine, hotel chocolat velvetiser, fully stocked kitchen. Scenic location, really comfortable and welcoming. Would definitely stay again! We stayed for our daughters birthday and the owner arranged for decorations and balloons on arrival for us. Really went above and beyond
Amazing lodge, had everything you could want and more!
This holiday lodge is really 5. Well fitted out with everything you need. It is in a beautiful quiet location overlooking a lake with ducks, ducklings and other wildlife. We found it spotlessly clean. Very convenient for Garstang and getting to the coast. Lots of pubs around with good food. Local supermarkets nearby. This was our second visit and hope it wont be the last. Bernard and Joan
Great location with local shops pubs and takeaways only a couple of minutes drive and Blackpool was only a 25minute drive away which was perfect as we had children to entertain during the day. The lodge itself was beautiful and to a very high standard and the setting was just perfect so relaxing especially when soaking in the hot tub at night. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a relaxing quiet peaceful break.
This property is absolutely gorgeous. High finishes throughout. The darkened glass is amazing. The view is also just stunning with the ponds day and night. Ducks, geese family and many more. Also a cute dog called Roxy who we all adore. The hot tub was just perfect and well located. 10 out of 10. Ww would not hesitate to recommend this property and we will certainly return to it.
Really lovely stay! Would recommend
Absolutely stunning lodge, everything was perfect which led to a highly enjoyable stay.
Andrea
This was our second visit to the bowers as its Fantastic and everything you need is included. The Hot tub was great for relaxing at night and being able to sit on the decking and watch the ducks and geese in the pond was lovely. We had daily visits from Roxy who just loved to play and give big cuddles Looking forward to coming back for Christmas for a relaxing time We had a week this This time so we headed into Blackpool Chester zoo and Manchester shopping all within reasonable distance if you want to get out and about or you can just relax on site. Plenty supermarkets about if you need to stock up Thanks Hayley thats defo a special wee place you have and we just love it..
It was a nice cottage, and we truly enjoyed it however, they had some issues. When we arrived, there was no toilet paper and hand wash and there wasnt shopped close to us, and we drove around 20 to buy everything. The next day we tried to make coffee there were no capsules and also milkshakes didnt work, so during the whole our stay we bought coffee from outside. Another issue which we had there were only 2 towels and there was no washing machine which we can wash our towels and use them again.
Samantha
Just left from a week here over Christmas. This was the best home from home holiday. It had everything you could need. Somewhere to completely relax, just what we wanted over the Christmas period. Very clean and lovely furnishings. Only downside was, we was expecting Sky TV as advertised so my Husband could watch boxing day football.
Perfect accommodation, really couldn't ask for more!
LOVELY LODGE AND SETTING,VERY QUIET UP MARKET AREA CENTRAL LOCATION FOR TRAVEL TO LANCASTER, MORECAMBE AND PRESTON. GARSTANG IS A LOVELY TOWN WITH GOOD SHOPPING FACILITIES.ONLY SLIGHT PROBLEM WAS POWER CUT TWICE IN ONE DAY,AND FLIES WHEN PATIO DOORS OPEN DURING DAY. STILL HAD EXCELLENT STAY.
We had a lovely stay at The Bowers. The property was just as described and extremely clean on our arrival. Beautiful setting and the hot tub was a lovely treat too. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing lodge in great surroundings, if your after a peaceful stay then you definitely need to stay here. Very clean and everything youll need supplied for your stay. Near to local pub only 10 mins walk away and close to Garstang village that has all you need for your stay. Will be back if coming down this way again!!!
We booked this lodge for 2 nights for my friends 21st birthday as a surprise and we were just as surprised ourselves, what a truly stunning place! You walk in through the front door into an open plan kitchenliving room that has such a warm atmosphere, plenty windows for those amazing views! The bedrooms were nice and spacious and the bath rooms too, may I add how modern and classy they were. Also plenty of kitchen utensils which came in handy for the full English the next day and they even had salt and pepper which was a LIFESAVER and so many other things you could possibly need and more. The hot tub was fantastic, so lovely to relax in with a nice cocktail, they even had speakers in the ceiling in both the bedroom and kitchenliving room which was a very cool feature but the best thing of all by far had to be the views and the pond!! Its so beautiful and almost mesmerising, sitting having your cup of tea on a morning watching the little ducklings swim around, it was honestly brilliant! We cant fault the lodge one bit, impeccably clean! Everything about it was perfect including the little pup on the land, she was a charm and a pleasure to give plenty hugs and kisses to! And the instructions on how to enter the lodge etc was straight forward and super easy, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will most certainly be returning! Cant recommend this place enough 1010 and more!
Lovely lodge and great location near the lake.
The property was definitely 5. It was in a quiet private location overlooking 2 small lakes. We spent time sitting out on the patio in the comfortable outside furniture watching the ducks. Luxuriously furnished and very well equipped. Handy for local pubs, garden centre, farm shop, cheese factory and travelling further afield. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to others.
Darran
The property was amazingnicest log cabin weve stayed in. Will definitely be booking to go back soon.
Rachel
The Retreat is so peaceful and relaxing. The lodge is very well designed, its really comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could need for a week away. The sofa area is so relaxing and its like a cinema room with the huge tv. The hot tub was a haven after a days walking but one of my favourite times at the lodge was sitting on the veranda in the morning with a coffee enjoying the peace and quiet and the views across the fields, perfect bliss!
Great location. Not sure white carpets in a rental property is sensible. Construction on our doorstep, saws and drills going off each morning meant a liein wasn't an option. The free standing bath took an hour to fill, also the hot cold on tap is the wrong way round and the fitting was loose leading to a puddle around it's base
Stephen Joseph
The location and quality of furnishings were perfect. The owners were very welcoming. Very relaxing break. Lots to do locally, nice restaurants etc.
Stephen
Owner could not do enough for you, beautiful relaxing place we have stayed in some nice log cabins and this has to be the best. would recommend it to anyone A

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
