Moor End Manor is a beautiful holiday home. We had a fantastic family gathering for my brothers 50th birthday, which was a surprise celebration. The owner, John was a great help with keeping it a surprise and was very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this and would most definitely love to revisit in the future.

AMAZING We stayed FridayMonday, and wasn't long enough wished we had booked a week. I felt like I was in Downton Abbey it is beautiful. We were a family of 8 adults and 3 children, we all loved it. When we arrived John the owner showed us around and explained everything to us. They also left a lovely welcome hamper. The house, pub and grounds are amazing, cannot fault anything, my advice is just book it. We all want to go again. Thankyou so much John & Stephen for letting us stay in your beautiful property. We have just returned from our holiday at Moor End Manor. What a fantastic property and grounds! The house is beautiful, well laid and decorated to the highest standards! The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and the pub is the icing on the cake! Couldn't ask for anything more! Both owners were responsive and communicated very well. I highly recommend a visit here and will definitely return!

10 of us have just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at this property. The House is absolutely fantastic and the outside area is one of the best we have seen and we have stayed in a cottage every year for the last 15 years. The 'pub' is a wonderful touch, the outside area by the hot tub is just brilliant! Lots of chairs sun loungers allowing friends to sit and relax whilst others are in the hot tub so we could all be together. Another lovely seating area is vast and covered allowing us another outside area to all sit together, perfect for our morning cuppa in the sunshine! The 6 bedrooms were comfortable and decorated beautifully. The living room was great and cozy to all sit together too. Daily visits from the lovely ducks was a highlight! We believe this was the best we had stayed in yet and would take a lot to beat! The owners left us a beautiful welcome pack with fizz, red wine, crisps and cookies. Always a lovely touch. The kitchen is well equipped and had all necessary kitchen basics, even cooking oil,salt and pepper, washing up liquid etc My only suggestion would be if they could provide some plastic glasses for the hot tub and surrounding area save taking glass outside. We have some amazing photos and so many friends are asking us Where did you stay?

Our weekend away at Moor End Manor was pure perfection! The moment we pulled into the house grounds, we felt like we had stepped into a film. We were greeted and given a guided tour of the house. The black swan pub was amazing and we spent a lot of time on an evening gathered in the pub. After settling in and unpacking, we sat in the grounds with a cuppa to take in how amazing the house was it was a huge pinch me moment! We will definitely be back to celebrate further events here!

We came here as a family of 14, 8 adults and 6 children to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. Moor End Manor was perfect, well equipped and very spacious. The Black Swan pub was amazing lots of games to play for both adults and children and again well equipped. The grounds of the property are spacious and well maintained lots of different areas to relax and enjoy the hot tub and hammocks. The black swan and ducks at the bottom of the garden were a big hit with the children they loved going to see them each morning. As a family we all thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it.

Just spent the weekend at Moor End Manor ! We didnt want to leave! we were a party of 10 adults and 4 children. Everything we needed and more hot tub, pool table, bar, garden games, bbq, hammocks, pond with ducklings! Owners John & Steve were absolutely lovely to deal with too had a lovely welcome pack on arrival we cant wait to book again we wish we had booked to stay for longer.

We spent 5 nights 2 families and had a wonderful stay. The owner replied quickly to a couple of queries we had before arrival and then met us for check in. The house had everything we needed and we settled in very quickly. The pub is a huge feature which we used regularly as the EURO and Wimbledon finals were on! Amazing rooms with fantastic furnishings and beds comfy. The weather was great so we used the extensive outdoor seating areas and the bbq twice. Thank you to John and Steve for being great hosts.

We enjoyed an incredible stay at Moor End Manor. It was easy to find and the owners were great to deal with, very responsive and checked in via text which was appreciated! The house itself is amazing and the garden is more than you could wish for! Bedrooms were all a great size, plenty of bathrooms around the house with plenty of supplies bath towels, toilet paper, handwash etc. Kitchen and bar was well equipped also. I would highly recommend this property there were simply no cons to our stay.

We absolutely loved the manor, probably the best property we have stayed in. It was spacious yet still warm and cosy. Every bedroom was lovely. The pub is perfect for groupfamily holidays. John was very attentive with any issues we had. We were left a nice welcome pack. The only problem we need to mention is the swan, we let it in to the garden to feed it and it was very aggressive towards us, resulting in my sister being bitten and my Uncle dislocating his shoulder when it started chasing him hence a visit to A&E . I would just warn people not to go near it with children after our experience. The Shovels pub in Hambleton served amazing food

The kids loved feeding the black Swan each morning and exploring the gardens and the adults loved the black Swan pub annexe. The location was superb, and Steve was very helpful. Just returned back from a four night stay at Moor End Manor with family and friends and will definitely be looking to book again . The property does not fail to impress. The owners seem to have thought of everything a family will need for a holiday away. Nice welcome pack on arrival, spotless rooms and a fantastic kitchen with everything you could need . Your own Black Swan pub gave the whole family loads of entertainment and family fun, either on the pool table, dart board , cards , dominos or one of the large quantity of other games available . Another bonus was the hot tub, inviting at anytime off the day. The shower room and drying area allowed you to shower change and dry your costume and towels without trailing through the house another great idea. The large dining table allowed us all to sit down together and have a nice family meal.

Our party has been doing trips like this since 2001 and we all agreed that Moor End Manor is easily the best place we've stayed. Everything about it is magnificent. The bar and the hot tub being the obvious highlights. Our hosts, John and Steve, couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming too. Highly recommended and we're already looking at making another booking here next year!

We had a wonderful week with all the children and grandchildren. It's not often you get quality time together and this was the perfect place to do that. The house was lovely and warm due to the arga, and there was lots of room for us to spread out. The games room was well used, with the karaoke, pool table, darts and other games provided, there were even drinks left for us in the bar. We had regular visits from the black Swan, and saw her meet her new companion who we hope now are a lovely couple. The seating in the garden was well set out, and the hot tub was a lovely bonus, especially at night with the stars out. There were a couple of issues, but a quick phone call to John and they were sorted out straight away. Can't fault anything, would definately recommend to anyone.

We were a family party of adults staying during the third week in September and had a simply fantastic time. The property is amazing and has everything you could possibly need for a week or more away with a large party. There weren't any children in our group but we could see they were well catered for with plenty of room for them to run around. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished with a real feeling of luxury around every corner. We loved the pub in the garden, this was a wonderful touch and really feels like the real thing. There's even a karioke machine, which we had a lot of fun with. We also stocked the bar well and this just added to ambience. The outdoor undercover seating area is very comfortable and a lovely space to spend quietly or have everyone gather round for an evening under the stars. We managed to make good use fo the hot tub as well even this late in the year and spending an afternoon out there in the sunshine was a great way to relax. I mustn't forget to mention the ducks and the very pretty black swan we had lots of fun feeding them grain kindly provided and listening to them cackling and hooting away at all hours of the day! The AGA was the icing on the cake for us, we all grew up with one and had forgotten how wonderful it is to always have a warm house to come back to at the end of a cold or wet day out. We did the majority of our cooking on and in it and toast done on the AGA was a real treat and a step down memory lane. Thank you Stephen and John and for a truly wonderful week away in your beautiful property, we would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get away with a large party.

We were amazed at the thought and care that had gone into ensuring a comfortable stay. The house and grounds are spectacular. Had a fabulous stay at Moor end Manor. The house was great very spacious beautiful decor. Well equipped kitchen which was great as there was 14 of us. All bedrooms had there own theme beautifully done . The garden was lovely weather wasn't on our side though so didn't get to use it much. But luckily there was some seating under cover which was brilliant as it wasn't cold so could still sit outside. The pub was brilliant just like the real thing and quite a few games in there. The host Steve and Jon were lovely very friendly and welcoming. Any issues was dealt with straight away. Thumbs up for the welcome package. Would highly recommend this holiday property and definitely would stay there again. Must give a shout out to our little friend the black Swan who came to introduce herself on the first morning tapping on the front door.

We had a bbq, played garden games, spent time in the hot tub and had drinks in the bar . We had good communication with the host and everything was provided with no issues. Stayed here as a family of 5 couples, the house and grounds were so beautiful. Perfect open space into the garden. The pub and seating area were a perfect addition and really felt like we were in a pub! Plenty of glasses for everyone inc. Prosecco, cocktail, shot glasses and even speakers, perfect for the cocktail night we had planned! Open garden meant we could play some sports games whilst having a bbq! We had a 2 year old with us and the gardens were all gated so she could run around. The hosts were there for any issues we had, nothing was too much trouble. An amazing weekend! Met by the most welcoming of hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble . Everything was perfect and as described photos do not do justice to the high spec and attention to detail. Spacious and spotlessly clean with every facility you need. Moorend Manor is the ideal weekend retreat for family and friends alike. Our birthday treat came together perfectly with the amazing self contained bar pub with everything you need for your own cocktail evening,outdoor lounge area and spa. So much space to relax and enjoy. The gardens are impeccable. The games we took were not required as the choice was already there from draughts and cards to outdoor lawn games and bar games. The surrounding area is beautiful with easy access to the coast . We have nothing but positive comments to say and cannot rate this highly enough . The complimentary produce was so thoughtful. There was an issue with the hot tub however the owners immediately sorted it, if there was any issues they was extremely approachable and friendly. What a fabulous place! We were wowed when we arrived totally exceeded our expectations, the house is stunning, spotlessly clean and has everything you could need. The owners were also amazing so helpful and accommodating they spoilt us by leaving lots of goodies which were very much enjoyed, such a nice touch. We particularly enjoyed sitting the stunning garden grounds, the hot tub and games rooms kept us entertained and then cosy up to the open fire at night made you not want to leave! We loved the stay, it was perfect for what we needed. Loved all the features like the stand alone bath, hot tub and bargames room. It was great that there was an aga with the option of a normal oven too. The beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. Lots of facilities which was great but some extra essentials wouldve been handy such as more washing up liquid, pepper, cooking oil, more tea towels. We understand these often arent included but it wouldve been quite handy to have. It was nice that you were nearby and could quickly come and sort the hot tub for us. Overall such a great stay thank you! We would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Beautifully decorated to a very high standard.. has everything you would need .. bedrooms are stunning and so spacious..loved the kitchen dining area was perfect .. Extra bonus was the fabulous hot tub .. our grandkids loved it We were a party of 8 adults five kids and there was plenty of space Highlight was the The Black Swan bar built at side of house .. games, darts, pool etc we were there every night having great fun John one of the owners was so welcoming was there to greet us and showed us around the whole place .. a lovely welcome pack was included We cannot recommend this place enough.. was the best holiday house we've stayed in and great location lots to do round and about it .. This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.
