Tuft House Reviews

Aerron
Fantastic place for a large family get away, lots of space, great hosts
Dorothy
Tuft house was wonderful. We were greeted by Sharon as soon as we arrived and the house was already open for us. All the rooms were clean and the kitchen was well stocked with Pans and Crockery. The beds were wonderfully comfy and lots of storage space too. There were two large fridges which were very necessary with such a large group. The BBQ was very clean and ready to use. The added bonus was the extremely warm and clean hot tub which we used every day and for a long time. Paddy the groundsman came during our stay and asked if we needed it cleaning, which we really appreciated, as it was very unclean because of the use. The heating was brilliant as it was very cold at times outside and very easy to use. One slight down side to the separate accommodation to the house is that you need to walk through one of the bedrooms, it didn't matter with us as we were family. However the bathroom here and the bedrooms more than made up for this. We also loved the huge garden as we had a family football match one day and this could have been a great cricket and rounders pitch too. We also walked down into the village a couple of times and had a meal at the Worsley arms, the food was excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay, Wendy and family
What a beautiful house in a fantastic setting. Everything was top class. Well equipped down to the small details. Perfect for a large party celebration or family gathering. The owner was friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Will definitely recommend.
Sophie
We had such a fantastic weekend, great location and the house was supplied with everything you need to cater for large groups, especially the cooking facilities and social areas with enough space for everyone to be together. The host was at hand when we needed them, and so friendly
Hannah
We had the most incredible time. Tuft house was so comfortable and was fabulous for a big mixed group of 18 for my hen do! The setting is completely stunning and we all felt we had the most wonderful break despite being shattered from henbased activities. The house was so homely, clean and well stocked. Thankyou for having us x
Rachel
Party of 15 11 adults ranging between 83yrs and 2yrs who had a really lovely stay at Tuft House. The hot tub was a really hit with everyone and the children absolutely loved being able to cycle up and down the long driveway! Kitchen had everything you needed to be able to cool for a large party and we also enjoyed all being able to sit together in the evening in the living room! We ticked off visits to Castle Howard, Stockeld Park, Flamingo Land and a lovely day trip into York. We would definitely recommend a stay at Tuft house, the family were really lovely hosts and will definitely be back again one day!
Having small children the small dogs frightened them. The house was very comfortable for a large family the rooms allowed for you to have your own space the kitchen was well equiped and the garden was large and gated allowing children to play outside safe. The road up to the property is a little narrow and bumpy the a floor plan would be helpful in knowing what the bedrooms would be best for parts of the family I would be happy to go back to tuft house.
Hannah
We had an amazing time away at tuft house. 9 couples in total, brilliant weekend away! House was spotless, facilities fantastic! House and grounds were very spacious plenty of room for us all. Beautiful area with great village. We will 100 be returning!
Elaine
We had a fabulous time this really is a great place for a large party and in a lovely location Only problem was the 3 bedrooms in the annex the bedroom at the back has to be accessed through one of the other 2 bedrooms we managed ok but worth taking into account Other than that a perfect place with the comfiest beds we have all ever slept in ! !!
Kieran
Great property, ideal for our large family needs. Beautiful setting but close enough to amenities and activities. Will definitely consider again. Owners were very helpful and dealt with any issues promptly.
Ashwin
An exclusive location and stunning property. Well appointed and excellent location for large family get togethers. Highly recommend it to anybody. Annexe is very modern and spacious too. Owner Sharon was most welcoming.
Patricia
Fabulous, well equipped house for large group in stunning location
Fantastic holiday we were a group of 11 adults and 3 children aged from 1 to 78. House was equipped with everything you would need, spacious livingkitchendining areas and large comfortable bedrooms. Lots of places to walk and visit close by. As seasoned cottage holidayers we would highly recommend and thank you to Sharon for being on hand if we had any queries. We had the best New Year Celebrations
Samantha

We had the most amazing time at Tuft house. Sharon was so accommodating, and had the most gorgeous friendly pups. The house had everything we needed, and location was great for nipping into Helmsley! Beautiful grounds around the property and lots of outside space. Would hugely recommend to anyone looking for a couple of days away with a large group of friends family
Tuft House was the perfect venue for our multi generational holiday to celebrate our Golden Wedding. The house is very well equipped for this type of holiday. There is so much space that everyone could find somewhere quiet when they needed some time out. The annexe is a wonderful bonus too. Everyone loved the jacuzzi and the front lawn was the perfect area for the childrens games. The owner was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. The children were really sad when it was time to leave as theyd had so much freedom and such a wonderful time with each other. Another bonus is the village bakery, who had our order for croissants and pastries ready for us to collect each morning when out for a run or bike ride. We would all like to return to Tuft House in the future. Thank You.
Lauren
Absolutely wonderful property, with extremely hospitable owners. Our group has stayed in numerous properties over the years and this was one of the best we have stayed in. The gorgeous weather definitely added to the weekend and we can't wait to return.
Pauline

Just returned from a two night stay with a group of friends. We had an absolute blast from start to finish, the house was even better than we expected and Sharon, the owner, was incredibly hospitable. Will definitely look to return in the future, especially when the weather is warmer!
We had the best time at tuft house. The place is amazing. The house if finished to a very high standard and had everything we needed.
Angela
A chance for the whole family to get together for our daughters 40th birthday. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, lots of football played plus board games. Fantastic facilities.
The pictures dont do it justice it was unreal! Would recommend to everyone!
Kamran
Tuft house is a huge, beautifully decorated home which makes a great weekend getaway. The host gave us a lovely welcome and took the time to show us around the whole property. It is a beautiful home and tastefully decorated throughout. The rooms are a bigger than pictures make them seem and no one was short changed for the bed space as all options were comfy. We had 18 people so 2 people did have to sleep on a sofa bed instead of a massive kingsize behemoth mattress but it's ok for short stays. The surrounding area was so peaceful and we didn't have any noise complaints even late into the night. The view is amazing from the house and shops arent that far 15 minutes wish if you do need to go for a shop, with smaller shops in the village. I would recommend bringing some food to get you going as it is a small village with not many options but there is a barbecue which had been cleaned for our use and it was great to use that. Mobile phone signal in the area is basically nonexistent which actually turned out to be a good thing, it engaged everyone and kept people off their phones. But it is annoying if you do need to contact someone or even contact the host for questions about properties, it's rare you can can use the phone. They do live next door so it isn't too much trouble to ask for help. There is a 300 security deposit which you have to pay before arriving. This is understandable but I didn't see it displayed clearly on the original booking page which I think is misleading when trying to budget for a minibreak. Sites like Airbnb handle these issues themselves instead of us having to supply a deposit, that was my only issue with the process and it was a fantastic weekend.
