Ripponden is a delightful village steeped in history, with its Roman road and Neolithic and Bronze Age remains scattering the area. Rishworth Moor is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and home to many rare animals, as well as the Cat Stones, a series of ancient round barrow burial sites.
This village is made up of traditional stone-built cottages, and a small high street with shops, cafes, and several excellent pubs serving food and real ale, all with the River Ryburn flowing gently through the centre. Nearby, Hedben Bridge is a diverse town with restaurants, bars, art galleries and the Rochdale Canal.
