Enjoy the scenic walk to the nearby country pub, just over 1 mile away, where you can enjoy a pint of real ale and some outstanding home cooked food. The bustling market town of Skipton is just 5 miles away where you can browse the cobbled streets and colourful market or explore the ancient castle.

Well known as 'The Gateway to the Dales', the stunning scenery of the national park is within driving distance and leads to a wealth of quaint towns and villages to enjoy, including Malham (12 miles) and Grassington (14 miles). Designed to make the most of the outstanding surroundings, step into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner and be wowed by the elegant and contemporary finish.

With floor to ceiling glass windows and large bi folding doors, the space is flooded with light from every angle. Relax on the sofa after a long day exploring the local countryside and catch up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV.

The kitchen area is brilliantly equipped with everything you need including a coffee pod machine and a round dining table in the corner of the room sits four to enjoy a home cooked meal. At either side of the living space lie two king size bedrooms, both with an en suite shower and WC.

The property was clean, warm and comfortable. Lots of walks and stunning scenery are within easy access from the lodge. However it isn't as secluded as described on the website because it is quite close to another property with their drive running right next to the lodge. We had a delivery van and Yorkshire water engineer call during our stay.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family. From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out. Also popular is the kids tractor play area. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families. Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit. The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!

Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower. For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel. Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too. If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
