Keepers Cottage Reviews

We had a wonderful week here. Lynsey was so welcoming and explained everything we needed to know. The house is very well equipped with everything you will need during your stay. Everyone said all the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. It really is a great base to explore the area. We were also very greatful to Lynsey when we had a flat tyre on the morning of leaving and she let us stay slightly over checkout to get sorted. I can't recommend it enough and if you are thinking of booking then go right ahead without any worries.
Delightful cottage in the most beautiful surroundings with gorgeous views Our host lady was ever so pleasant and helpful.
Gerald
A well appointed cottage, set in a beautiful rural location. The property comfortably accomodated our family of six, whilst retaining a cosy feel and the underfloor heating was very welcome on some of the cooler days. Thoughtful touches such as the flip flops and hot tub towels and welcome basket were appreciated. Friendly hosts, who were on hand if you required them. We hope to return in the future.
Such a lovely time. Beautiful cottage. Really, really well stocked. Attentive host....always available. Great views. Couldn't fault. Thank you
Amanda
Had a great time, grandsons enjoyed the hot tub, well equipped cottage, lovely walks from the door. Ideal location for exploring the Lake District
Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. The weather was lovely and made full use of the lovely patio and enjoyed the views and listening to the birds. Very comfortable inside and well kitted out.

Keeper's cottage is by far a superior accommodation. It is spacious, comfortable and well equipped in all respects with ample and quality furnishings, curtains etc. Its outside provision with its enclosed and private terrace, with lovely whicker furniture including a hot tub is perfect. To add to all that, the views both near and far of the surrounding area with its rolling hills are stunning with the finishing touch of some spectacular sunsets each evening. What a great find.
Keepers Cottage is a lovely well equipped cottage with plenty of space and all mod cons. The views are amazing, hot tub went down well with everyone and the welcome basket was greatly appreciated. We would recommend.
Keepers Cottage was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. It was warm and cosy but very spacious for our family of five. Lovely sofas, comfortable beds and good quality towels and bedding. The hot tub towels and flip flops were a thoughtful addition. Our host left the key inside for us as we arrived late in the evening so the groceries provided for us were a very welcomed surprise .The cottage was in a superb area with plenty of local walks but still only a short drive to all the Lake District has to offer. It was the first time our family had visited this area of the UK but we will certainly return for future holidays. We have booked many different properties with Sykes and we are never disappointed. Highly rated.
A great place to stay, we really enjoyed the quality of the home, very quiet and peacefull,, had dinner outside with a great view. The hot tub was excellent. The welcome basket, was the best we every had in the UK and most appreciative to get things started. Our host Lindsay, was very special And explained everything to us on arrival. We hope to go back some day. We are on holiday from Canada with our son and his wife to celebrate my 80th birthday and his 50th
Lovely cottage. Very well equipped and comfortable. Beautiful location.
Pauline
Lovely cottage in an amazing location. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy a fabulous time from lots of space and a well equipped kitchen to great bedrooms bathrooms and a beautiful hot tub with breathtaking views what more could you wish for!
What a wonderful property with the most amazing views. All facilities as described. Keepers Cottage is located within easy driving of all the attractions. We had a really enjoyable, relaxing holiday. Plenty of room for everyone. Quiet & secluded. Other properties on site but does not interfere with Keepers Cottage in any way at all. This really is a dream place to stay.
Beautiful house with amazing views. The contacts for the property were very helpful and friendly. Would just suggest you get more cups, 8 beakers werent very much for 6 people staying. Thanks for a fantastic week
What a fabulous place , perfect for our family get away. Everything about it was excellent and well get back .
Great location, property had everything you could need. Warm welcome.
Samantha
Wow! What a cottage! Cosy and warm, yet spacious enough that an adult family of 5 don't feel like they are on top of each other. The beds are comfortable and the bedding quality. Everything that you need for a break is provided, all kitchen basics, maps, suggested walks, games and logs for the fire. The views are amazing! And the hot tub, is well, fab. The only down side that we could find was that we had to leave after our week was up.
Rebecca
We loved our stay at Keepers Cottage. The cottage was beautiful, clean and comfortable and very well equipped with all the basics. We also found the location ideal to explore the local area. The kids loved the space too.
Andrew
This is a lovely cottage. Stunning scenery looking over the valley straight out of the back doors, perfectly enjoyed from the hot tub. The beds were extremely comfortable and its a great base to explore the surrounding area. Lots of wonderful walks, great pubs and restaurants nearby.
We had a truly memorable week at Keepers Cottage. It is a beautiful and comfortable property with first class facilities in a stunning location. The generous welcome hamper was a real treat and communication with Lyndsey on Reception was easy and effective. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We will be back!
Simply perfect just the best view ever, lovely high standard of equipment and care provided will be back for sure
Great property and location. A perfect venue, quiet, well positioned, close to Kendall and Windermere. Highly recommended.
Absolutely stunning , the property was amazing, every detail was perfect right down to the pleasant Christmas smell as you walked in . Heated floors were amazing on cold mornings. Lovely spacious bedrooms . An unmatched view to wake up to on a morning . The fact that every bedroom had an ensuite which was amazing. Every need was catered for , right down to having the fire wood topped up when we called . Cannot praise this place enough , and the owners . Will definitely be back ! A big Thankyou to Lyndsay and Andrew and the team from Chris ,Ben,Kim and Alfie
The place was extremely clean and there was a great living space. The checkout time states 10am on the website however the owners made it clear that it was half 9 so this was a little awkward. We would say the service and interactions with the owners had alot left to be desired however we didn't let this affect us having a great time. There was an awful drain smell which came and went throughout the week in the bathrooms, sometimes you couldn't smell anything and other times it was dreadful. Wouldn't revisit again but enjoyed it for the week.
Beverley
The cottage is in a stunning location with extensive views. The interior is beautifully designed and the hot tub very welcome! We hadn't noticed any mention in the publicity, of stairs between the entrance, the kitchen and the lounge as well as the main staircase. A challenge for thosed with mobility challenges. The heating was eractic. Overall a really enjoyable experience!
Natalie
All the little touches were perfect and the accommodation was fantastic. Lovely friendly welcome and good communication from Sykes and the owners. Highly recommend.
Heather
Keepers Cottage did not disappoint. It is in a quiet location with great views, within easy reach of other parts of the Lakes. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped it is the best cottage we have stayed in. The welcome basket of goodies was much appreciated. We will definitely go back and would highly recommend.
Fantastic cottage and what a view from the hot tub. Such a lovely location fir a long awaited family celebration holiday. Lynsey was really helpful
Beautiful property finished to a very high standard. Lovely views over the valley and estuary. Reception on site during office hours and any txt enquiries looked into promptly by Lynsey and the team. No evidence that any checks on the hot tub during our 7 day stay but I'm sure if any issues had been reported the team would have looked into it.
Beautiful cottage with stunning views, perfect for exploring the southern Lake District.
We had an amazing time in Keepers Cottage. A beautifully designed place with a view that cant be beaten! We even cancelled a dinner on our final night because we wanted more time to enjoy being there! Would love to return and we were well looked after by Lynsey.
Keepers cottage is a beautiful property in stunning surroundings. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable. It's a great location for exploring the southern lakes. Fantastic views, luxury hot tub, great host and communication.

Keepers Cottage is a 10 out of 10 holiday property, immaculately maintained by the owners. Great care had been taken to provide every comfort we might need during our stay. The welcome pack and chilled Prosecco in the fridge were a welcome find! The views from the patio and hot tub are amazing, we had the perfect family holiday.
William
Welcome pack was unexpected touch which helped make a great stay. Found cottage comfortable and well maintained, would love to go back when weather is better to enjoy the patio more, shame no gazebo or such like available for hot tub or for use with table and chairs. Lynsey and her team were so friendly and made us so welcomed.
Great location, great property, fabulous weather, enough said!
Rachel
The cottage and surrounding area and views can only be described as spectacular. Had the most amazing time and would love to stay again. Not a stone has been left unturned in the planning of this place in terms of sheer luxury and layout of the cottage and outdoor area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Big thank you from the Collins family
Suzanne
Peaceful setting, fantastic views and spacious comfortable accommodation
Andrea
Can not fault this place. A welcome pack with essentials such as tea and milk perfect after a long drive getting there. Breathtaking views from the bedroom and hot tub, perfect after a day exploring the region.
Absolutely superb, everything was spotlessly clean, so many extras like a hamper of artisan bread, eggs, Prosecco, could see miles of views from the Hot tub. Plenty of good walks from the cottage, lovely quiet area but also near some fantastic pubs with ale & excellent food. Also the cottage had a very well equipped kitchen so we cooked and ate on the veranda...the views are so stunning you wont want to go out every evening!

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 8 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 20 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
