Lakes Lodge Reviews

Jonathan
Great place everything you need. Site is amazing as well. Only problem I had was the heating didn't work for 2 days when reported was sorted out fairly quick.. shower didn't drain very well
Michelle
A lovely well maintained property
Wouldnt class as a 5 star lodge as listed on the website. Very tired and unclean, stains on the walls in the kitchen looks like coffee when we arrived, black mould on the shower screen, floors unclean lots of dust and previous guests jewellery down the side of the the bedside tables. Rusty towel radiators. Wouldnt rebookrecommend. Boiler also very temperamental.
Lovely holiday, lodge was a good size and in a great location and suited our family of six however needed a bit of TLC Radiator in ensuite could do with a paintreplacing. Some of the rings on hob not working to their best may need servicing. Shower and bath need attention a little grubby Windows were in need of cleaning inside. Minimal kitchen equipment but didnt affect our cooking needs. Positive was we had an issue with bedding which was dealt with very quickly and hot tub was checked daily
Unfortunately, although two cleaners were in the lodge when we arrived yes we arrived early but then left to go shopping attention to detail was not on their agenda. And attention to detail does matter! The sofas are stained and also have makeup on them. Childs finger nails stuck on chairs around the dining table and on the floor. Although the bin had a clean bag in it the bin itself all around the lid was dirty. The sofas had not been moved and when we pushed them away from the breakfast bar there was old food, childs beads and rubbish under them. Main bedroom ensuit the radiator is very rusty and unsightly. Window in ensuit unable to open. There is also a huge crack down the wall, again very unsightly. Second main bedroom you cannot open the blinds as they are broken. The main bathroom toilet sadly had not been cleaned and was very evident! plus the bath had not been cleaned to a high standard i.e. stains along the bath panel. More attention to detail, a square toilet with a round toilet seat! The light on the mirror is broken so very difficult to shave. The kitchen ceiling needs a good clean above the cooker and again attention to detail, the seal around the sink is the biggest bodge job I have seen in a very long time. The freezer compartment one of the drawers is broken with no front on it. There has clearly been a leak and the wall paper around the windows is coming off. The bar stools are all stained. The decking this was definitely not cleaned at all! Nor surroundings around the cabin a child's armbands left on the floor near the hottub area near the bushes not on the decking itself. This is definitely not a place I would recommend unless it has a full makeover. WIFI is free because it does not work Happy to provide pictures.
Keswick court was a lovely place to stay, lots of room for everyone comfortable beds, very nice and clean we loved the hot tub. Just had a problem with the heating it went off the first day had to get maintenance out, fixed it but couldnt turn it down. Would recommend.
Caroline
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lakes Lodge and we would definitely stay here again. The lodge is one of the nicest we've stayed in and had everything we needed. Beautifully furnished, clean and spacious we can't wait to come back!
Heather
The lodge was lovely and clean, the only thing that let it down was availability of the wifi as it barely worked for the 3 days we stayed. Also no Netflixprime on the tv just freeview. When staying with 4 kids it would have been better if we had wifi or a smart tv.

Was a great lodge to stay in. Bedrooms was a great size and such comfy beds. Main living space was ideal and having the table and breakfast bar helped with meals for adults and children. Heating was on tap, hot tub was great, with daily visits to check it. Only found the music centre on the 2nd day but was a good find.
Mathew
The internet on the park is non existent and you are unable to buy any. With no 4g either it makes it very difficult with the kids. No fault of the lodge owners just park Dean not providing a good enough service.
Lovely place in nice location poor signage if arrive in the dark phone signal ... Lovely place in nice location poor signage if arrive in the dark phone signal not great unfortunately pots and pans were full of food on arrival had to spend time cleaning burn food stain and left of food on cutlery
Lyndsay
The lodge was a little unclean the table had dried food on, the table chairs and couch had bits of food and what looked like confetti on. The fridge also had food in the bottom.
Lauryn
A light outside of the hot tub would be great. We came in December and it was dark by 4.15pm, slightly dangerous when there was light and children in the hot tub. Boiler fixed and working perfectly.
Jessica
We had a great stay and its a beautiful lodge but the boiler was broke and even when we pressed the rest button we couldnt get the hot water on. We and 4 kids with us and 3 adults and we wasnt able to bath the kids whilst there because the water was freezing. Really should get the boiler replaced before letting it out especially in the winter months. Apart from that it was a great stay.
Boiler kept on tripping out, so no hot water heating. 2 mugs missing Need to clean behind the doors. But a beautiful property in a beautiful location very well equipped and furnished. Just need to fix the boiler!
Lovely place with a restaurant that did nice food good swimming pool for kids. Windemere village was lovely and surrounding areas lovely for day trip.
Louise
Accommodation was lovely,we had problems with the boiler and struggled to get hot water for showers.
Great location, fab lodge just like home from home, would definitely like to return. Only criticisms were boiler had problems having to reset it all the time when shower was switched on so shower was cold & some radiators were cold. Also the cushions on the outdoor furniture were wet through so unable to sit out when returning to the lodge, maybe an idea would be to ask housekeeping or guest to put cushions into the storage provided after use. Hot tub was great & really enjoyed our stay & will be looking at returning in the future thank you
We travelled as a party of 6, youngest 11 months and oldest 77! We have had a fantastic weeks stay. Its the second time weve stayed at White Cross Bay, the first in Lakes Lodge. We would definitely return and have already tried to rebook but unfortunately it is fully booked for the time we would like next year. The position of the lodge is brilliant with a large decking area and a fabulous hot tub. Added bonus of having 4 bedrooms. We only had a couple of criticisms the cleanliness of the living area upon arrival there was a lot and I mean a lot of peanut shells underneath the cushions and the floor was quite dirty under the couch with pieces of Lego, assuming from previous parties who have stayed probably more noticeable having a baby crawling round, this was however easily rectified as we just cleaned it up ourselves. The other issue was the boiler for hot water. We had to continually reset for hot showers, we managed but I expect it would even more of an issue if staying during the winter. Despite this a fantastic stay and as already mentioned, we would definitely return.

The lodge was very clean , and had everything you needed, The boiler needed resetting every time you needed hot water , it was a pain when somone was in the shower you would have to get out to reset the boiler ,I was woken up many times though out the night as the jacuzzi was right by the master bedroom window , I would be woken up by the jacuzzi motor sounds ,

We enjoyed our stay and would like to return. However, the lodge was not without its faults. We had to contact the maintenance people twice due to the tv was inoperable, hot water was consistent. We got very concerned about the up keep of the Hot tub. We had 2 visits from the hot tub maintenance people, one checked the temp, the other was hoping to just do the same but we asked him to check the ph levels and chlorine as I am aware that this needs doing on a daily basis being a hot tub owner! Still not sure this was done Overall the site was kept beautifully and we made good use of the marine facilities, Ian was very helpful and look forward to booking our next holiday at White Cross Bay.
Nichola
Lovely lodge, beautiful decor and great facilities. We had a great time. Would recommend. The only problem we had was finding it, the name of keswick court 3 is not on the lodge. Needs better signs. The boiler tripped out, but we reset it fine. Overall it was fabulous. We we come again!

Lake Lodge was absolutely perfect. Modern, Spacious, Immaculately Clean, and well equipped. We could not fault it. Lots of Space inside and out. Decking area is spacious with quality outdoor furniture, hot tub clean and ready to use, and great being able to heat up to 40 degrees as some hot tubs we have used in the past are restricted to how hot they can go. We had a great time at Lake Lodge it exceeded our expectations, would definitely look to book it again. The Site was great, facilities were great and the location was perfect for exploring the Lakes. Definitely a 5 star stay!! Thank you.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
