Had a great stay very quiet Could do with a recycling box at property so it's easier to recycle at the bins I think for two people it's great for the seating but for four people could of done with another sofa or two armchairs for comfort The hosts was very friendly and there to help this is a great property to just chill and relax and that's what we went for
A gorgeous cabin in a lovely area with lots of sightseeing places to visit and walk along, the owners were amazing and helpful throughout the stay. All the amenities you think you would need and more and an overall 5 star retreat away, definitely recommend!
Lorraine
What a lovely stay in beautiful countryside. The cabin had everything you need and a few extra added touches. Sue and Chris are lovely hosts and very obliging. The only little thing, was there is no freezer just a fridge but everyday Sue delivered ice to us

It's a great place to stay, very relaxing. Would recommend to anyone. There's lots to do in the area or you can just relax in the hot tub looking at the amazing views.
The hosts are fantastic and couldn't do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The lodge is ideal and in a peaceful location. There are lovely walks in the area and the local pub is just a 20 minute walk.

Such a beautiful stay, thank you.
We had an amazing stay, the log cabin was beautiful inside and out. The hot tub was a great way to enjoy the views and relax. The owners were so nice and always near by for advice on places to visit and information on local history. We would definitely recommend a stay 'you won't be disappointed', we would definitely go again Brian and Chrissy

This was a really nice property for our short break. The Hosts were very friendly and onhand if we needed anything The facilities were excellent, and we had everything we needed. The Hot tub was great, although it would have been nice if it was screened off at the side. A really enjoyable time!
Great lodge, very spacious, comfortable and peaceful with great views of the countryside. Some lovely walks literally on your doorstep with Barnard Castle just a 10 minute drive away. Chris & Sue couldn't have been more helpful including giving me directions when I got a little lost thanks Chris! and are onsite to answer any questions. Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Heating arrangement not adjustable by client.
Cant fault anything really everything was spot on, only thing I could say wasnt perfect if I was gonna be really fussy was hot tub wasnt situated around the bck of cabin other than that it was perfect.

What an amazing place to stay. If you enjoy walking this is a perfect location to explore the beautiful local countryside. The lodge was perfectly kitted out with everything you could think of, it was comfortable, modern and really clean. Hosts were super friendly and helpful too. Hot tub is perfect after a long day walking, great to sooth the aching muscles. Would highly recommend
Judith
Lovely property. Owners friendly and helpful. Very comfortable stay. Only downside was the traffic noise from the A66.
Jacqueline
We would like to pass on our thanks to Chris and Sue who are perfect hosts and are friendly and helpful. The lodge was very clean, comfortable and peaceful with everything we needed for our stay. Views from the lodge are beautiful and some lovely walks nearby including part of the Pennine Way. Also, a good base for visiting a variety of places. It wasn't a problem to us but the Sykes listing states a shop nearby, but this is not the case as the shop and post office have closed down. There is a Morrisons and a Coop in Castle Barnard just 4 miles away.
The lodge was brilliant and very clean, sue and Chris welcomed us from the gate showed us and told us everything and we're very friendly people. Chatted all the way thorough the week and told us about a few places to go to. Great holiday! So much to do around too! Thankyou sue and Chris for your hospitality x
Just a couple of small things which ,for me,needed attention which I should have brought to owner's attention as easily rectified ie,no instructions re heating which would have been helpful and an internal sensor operated light in hall wouldn't switch off at all. Lovely accomodation with great outlook.
Friendly, helpful owner who made everything easy for us. Comfortable accommodation in a good location. Highly recommended!

So friendly owners, 100 the best communication prior of our arrive as they has given full information about location . They gave us guidelines about spots around and directions how to get over there. Lovely surrounding areas for walk and places to each surrounding the village . We hope to return in future and will recommend it to our friends ! Thank you.

Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 23 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 29 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
