Bothan Buie Reviews

Emma
This place really lives up to the reviews! The views are absolutely stunningand the location is just perfect for exploring the area. We loved unwinding in the hot tub after some soggy walksand the fireplace made everything cosier. Cooking Christmas dinner was a bit tricky without all the usual utensils, but we managed. The owner was super helpful and added lovely touches with decorations. A truly memorable escape, highly recommend for anyone after charm and comfort in such a beautiful spot!

This is our second visit and we love how straightforward everything is. If you plan on cooking, bring a frying pan and fish slice - otherwise, it’s super convenient with a stunning view and perfect location. Definitely worth it!
Jane
We loved the stunning views of Gairloch from the cottage. It’s a perfect spot to relax after a day out exploring. The cosy place had everything we neededand the hot tub was a real treat! Heating was quick with the log burner and storage heaters. Beds were comfy, though the walk back uphill might be tricky for some. Overall, great stay!

The weather was perfectand we really enjoyed our stay! The Bothy looks just like the pictures-quirky spots and the log burner really made it cosy. Definitely a lovely place to unwind!

We had a lovely time at Bothan Buie! The views are stunning and perfect for walks around the area. The wood burner made it really cosy during the evenings. The upstairs is quite open, which was fine for us, but the gaps around the windows and doors made it a bit draughty-could do with an update there. We didn't realise the hot tub was out of order, so we used a Lazy Spa instead, which was fine for two. Sadly, there was no hot water during our stay, but the owner checked and couldn’t fix it. Overall, we loved it, though it felt a bit pricey for what we got.
Emily
We really enjoyed our stay at the bothy; it felt super cosy and had stunning views. Gairloch village had plenty of amenities for a small place. The locals were lovely-friendly, funnyand always willing to help, clearly proud of their community. The woodburner kept us warm during the chilly monthsand the hot tub was a real treat. The walks and mountains nearby are breathtaking, definitely worth the climb. All in all, a lovely spot to unwind!
Alex
We loved the spot-stunning views over Skye and easy access to the moors. Gairloch has everything you need, from shops to cafes and beaches, all nearby. The outside space is lovely, perfect for relaxing after long walks. The hot tub was a real treat at the end of each day! It’s a fantastic base for exploring Wester Rossand we had a brilliant week. Definitely recommend if you want a peaceful break with plenty to do.
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The place was cosy and spotless, loved lighting the stove at night. Perfect spot-close to nice cafes and fish and chips nearby.
Emma
Nice spot, the hot tub was lovely but could use some work.
Emma Taylor
Honestly, this place was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. We arrived to a warm, spotless space, which was a lovely surprise. The beds were so comfyand the kitchen had everything we could ask for to cook up some cosy meals. The views are breathtakingand the hot tub was such a treat after long days. The owner was really friendly and helpful too. We definitely plan to come back-it’s such a peaceful spot for a proper break. Honestly, loved every minute!

The spot’s lovelyand the area’s really nice, but the cottage could use some sprucing up.
Alexandra
Our stay was truly special, with stunning views and plenty to enjoy. Seeing dolphins in the bay and star gazing from the hot tub made it unforgettable. It’s a peaceful spotand we’d definitely recommend Bothan Buie for a relaxing escape.
Emma
Such a cute, quirky little cottage in a lovely, quiet spot. The views of the Loch are stunning, whether you're chilling on the sofa or unwinding in the hot tub. It has a really cosy, homely vibe. The kitchen is well equippedand the dining table is beautiful. We were a bit disappointed it wasn't cold enough to use the log burner! The hot tub is a fantastic addition, just remember to bring plenty of midge spray as they can be a nuisance! Totally fell in love with this place and can't wait to go back!
Tom
We loved the rustic charm of the cottage! The view and location were absolutely amazing, making it a perfect getaway. Can't wait to go back!
Emily
Wow, where do we even begin? The views are absolutely stunning, the fire is so cosyand that hot tub is just amazing! This is definitely one of the best holiday cottages we’ve stayed in while in Scotlandand we would 100% come back again. Thanks so much!
Emily
This cottage is just lovely! The customer care was excellent and the owner was really friendly. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely return next year..
James
This cottage is perfect for a proper getaway, yet it's just a short stroll into the village. We loved the lovely views over the village and the loch! Just a heads up though, the stairs leading up to the bedroom might be a bit tricky for anyone with limited mobility since it’s quite a tight squeeze at the top. On the plus side, the large enclosed area is fantastic for those travelling with dogsand we really enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day.
Emma
The property really needs a lot of improvements like replacing the windows and the door since the sills are rotten and there’s a big gap at the bottom of the door. It was super draughty. The shower was either freezing or burning hot, which was frustrating. The oven was dirty, along with the cushions and curtains. The kitchen chairs either need replacing or new padding in the seats. The only good side was the hot tub and the location. Unfortunately, the hot tub was filled up one afternoon, which meant we couldn’t use it that day at alland that was disappointing!
Emma
This cottage is so cosy and in a lovely area! There are sheep in and around the garden, which is perfect if you have dogs. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy nature. We really loved our stay here!
Lucy
We had a lovely stay here; the place was super cosy. It was a fantastic base for exploring the surrounding area. The garden is all fenced in, so our dog had a blast! The views from the bothy were stunning and changed daily with the weather. One night was crystal clearand we really enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub!
