The bothy was cosy and view wonderful. The little village of Gairloch offered very much a diverce amenities. And not that expensive. The locals were amazing. Funny helpful and very well manored. Absolutely perfect. We couldn't have found a better place to stay. We were thrilled when we arrived and found the place warm and very well cleaned. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to make some homely meals. The property has outstanding views and the hot tub is a luxury we throughly enjoyed. Everything you need & more in a beautiful location. Watching dolphins in the bay & shooting stars from the hot tub is an experience we will never forget. A truly relaxing & memorable stay, can definitely recommend Bothan Buie.
Jake
The property location is lovely however it is not as remote or private as it looks in the photos. The property would benefit from some TLC. All that said we and out 2 dogs had a lovely and relaxing time and when we messaged the owner his response was quick polite and friendly
Lisa
Very cute, quirky little cottage in a quiet, beautiful location. The views out to the Loch are amazing, seen from the comfort of the sofa or relaxing in the hot tub. It has such a cosy, homely feel. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful dining table. We were sad that it wasn't cold enough to take advantage of the log burner! The hot tub is a great addit ion, although take plenty of midge spray, as they are out in full force! Fell in love with this place, would love to go back!
Lorna
Loved our stay here. The cottage was exactly as expected rustic & small but that was part of the charm for us & as a family of 3 we had plenty of room. The views were amazing especially when in the hot tub and the owner was really helpful & friendly. Plenty to do nearby & we enjoyed a local boat trip, paddle board in loch Maree. horse riding at Red point & the beachcomber ( chippy) and crumbs (rolls & cakes) were great! The visit from Stags in our back garden was amazing!
Leslie
I always wanted to stop in one of these stone cottages & this one was just right for what I wanted was nice to keep it as original as possible & the views outside where out beautiful if this is the type of holiday youd like I would recommend it good value for the money
Tanja
The location is truly unbeatable, with spectacular views+ heavenly silence, the whirlpool an absolute highlight. The equipment is simple, but sufficient. There is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and the upstairs is too dark, a large floor lamp would help. The insulation of the windows is catastrophic, something urgently needs to be don e. All in all, we enjoyed our holiday very much and felt comfortable despite some minor defects. However, the price-performance ratio isn't quit right
John
Had a lovely week after some stunning walks it was great to be able to relax in the hot tub
Neil
rustic cottage but view and location great
Jonathon
Stopped for a week at this location lovely place the views are amazing and the hotub was amazing after a long walk the location is ideal for a couple but not for anymore as not private. Property is in need of tlc
Claire
Bothan Buie is in a great location, on a hillside overlooking Gairloch. The views are stunning and Gairloch itself was a lovely spot to spend 5 nights. There was lots to do nearby. The bothy had plenty of character and we liked its rustic charm. Having said that, there were several issues on arrival, such as the hot tub not being ready to use, no k indling for the fire, the fridge/freezer wasn't working and the place wasn't very clean (dog hair on the stairs and floor), which was disappointing.
Jo
This cottage is more akin to a bunkhouse, fine for a one night stay but not recommended for a weeks holiday. If you are expecting warmth, cleanliness and comfort you will be disappointed. The cottage isn't insulated and the only heating is the wood burning stove and you are only given enough fuel for two days. It isn't value for money, although the surrounding area is beautiful the cottage itself was shabby and tired.
Laura
Beautiful little place hidden at the top of a hill. Hot tub was a welcome retreat after a long day, although did loose temperature very quickly in the wind! My partner is 6ft 5 and had to sit down to shower due to it being so tight! But overall very comfortable cottage, log fire was incredible and definitely needed as no central heating, lovely loc ation.
Shireen
Wow, where do I start, amazing views, cosy fire and the amazing hot tub one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in Scotland and would 100% stay again Thankyou so much
Sabrina
Great cottage. Great customer care. Fantastic owner and breathtaking scenery. Will definetly come back next year..
Rebecca
Gem of a cottage. We arrived at the Bothy after driving from London. As soon as we walked in it felt very homely. Lamps were on and the cottage was cozy and warm. The owners were friendly and very helpful. We loved the whole stay from the beautiful view to the log burner and hot tub, not to mention the beautiful night sky stargazing in the tub. The beds were very comfy and we slept very well. We would love to return as would the kids
Gail
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. we don't live that far away so are very familiar with the area and were keen to come to Gairloch. The bothy was all that we had hoped for and it was so nice to arrive to a roaring fire in the log burner and a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy. The view and the peace and quite is to die for. Thank you.
Sinclair
Great views walking up from village is a bit of a hill so hope you are fit more info required for use of washing machine every thing you need is there
David
It was a lovely property but could do with some tlc also a blind on the velux window in the bedroom. Couldnt fault the location or the view.
David
Really get away from it all cottage yet only short walk in to village. Lovely views over the village on to the loch. The stairs up to the bed room may not suit some one with restricted mobility as quite tight space at the top.The large enclosed area is ideal for people travelling with dogs also the hot tub was great at the end of the day.
Gary
No washing machine or dishwasher as advertised Garden is not pet friendly sheep in every day Still picking ticks of our dogs Shower is dreadful
Walter
Very good location, the cottage is large enough for two, kitchen is ok, cosy wood-Cole burner, good bed, needs a bit of work on the windows, for better isolation. Silent place , good to relax en become one with nature.
John
Disappointing!! In my opinion it is not a 4 Star accommodation as advertised. The door is warped , the doorstep is rotten and this allows the wind to come howling in. TV upstairs no connection. Poor shower. I'll definitely will not use again.
Alison
lovely warm cottage even when the wind and rain is howling out side comfortable and a perfect escape away
Linda
The property needs a lot of improvements such as replacing windows and the door as the sills are rotten and a big gap at the bottom of the door. It was very draughty. The shower was either freezing or burning hot. The oven was dirty as were the cushions and curtains. The kitchen chairs need replacing or new padding in the seats also.. The only good side was the hot tub and the location. The hot tub was filled up one afternoon which meant we couldnt use it that day at all which was disappointing.
Katie
Had an amazing stay
John
Amazing spot up on the hillside, with very little light pollution you can really appreciate the clear night sky and might even get a glimpse of the aurora in winter. Huge enclosed area for dogs, but as any remote and rural area be aware livestock and keep dogs on leads. The area is stunning with plenty of hills, beaches and places to visit. The Bot hie is perfect with electric and wood burning fire to heat the place if needed. Looking forward to next stay.
Christine
It's a very charming house at a idyllisch please! But in the winter it's not realy warm inside. And wifi would be nice to. The hot tub is top with a great vieuw
Eleanor
We absolutely LOVED our stay! It was the most magical & perfect setting for our Christmas getaway! So much beautiful scenery to explore and then relaxing by the fire and in the hot tub gazing at the stars was the absolute perfect experience! We cant wait to go back!!!!!
Nicola
Cosy cottage in lovely area. Sheep in and around garden if you have dogs.
Angie
Had a great stay here the place was very cosy. A great base to explore the surrounding area. Garden is all fenced in so our dog loved it. Views from the bothy were great and changed daily with the weather. One night was very clear and we enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub.
