Appletree Cottage Kilkhampton Reviews

Emma
We really enjoyed our time at Appletree Cottage. It’s a perfect spot for exploring north Cornwall, with some nice pubs and takeaways nearby. We loved the walks right from the doorstepand the hot tub was a real treat after a day out. The views were stunning and the owners super friendly and helpful, yet respectful of our privacy. Definitely a place we’d recommend for a relaxing break!
Emma
We should've checked the area more thoroughly before booking. It’s super quiet around here, not much happening, so you’ll need to drive if you want to explore. The house wasn’t really pet-friendly for our small dogs; lots of steps inside and outside made it tricky. The upstairs living space is quite cramped and gets really warm, even with the fan. We also had a constant problem with wasps sneaking in, which was pretty annoying-maybe there’s a nest nearby? Overall, not quite what we expected, but if you’re after peace and quiet, it’s okay!
Jamie
We had such a lovely week staying at Susi and Jason's place. The spot was perfect for exploring Northern Cornwalland the cottage was a real retreat to relax and recharge. They were super helpful with local tips and always available if we needed anything. Watching the sunset from the living room and enjoying the hot tub was just amazing. We left some notes in the guestbook-definitely a trip to remember!

We had a fantastic time at Appletree Cottage! At first, we were a bit worried since it’s on the owners’ property and our dog can be quite anxious, but Susi and Jason were so welcoming. They really made us feel at home and understood Rosie’s needs. The views are stunningand the hot tub was a real treat after a day out. The grass area for dogs was a lifesaverand the little touches like hand soaps and diffusers made all the difference. Definitely a dog-friendly gem!
James
This place is really charming and perfect for getting away. The garden's secure enough for big dogs, though some smaller ones might squeeze through the fencing. The owners are super friendly and clearly love dogs, which makes a big difference. Definitely recommend for a peaceful break!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at the cottageand the location couldn’t be better. Jason and Suzi really are fantastic hosts, making us feel welcome from start to finish. We checked out some local spots like Tarquins Gin Distillery and Bodmin Jail Museum - definitely worth a visit. The Falcon Hotel in Bude served an amazing Sunday Lunchand booking ahead is a good idea. Only a tiny hiccup - the electric point wasn’t working during our stay, but we found a handy EV charger in Bideford with free parking for 90 mins. Not bad at all!
Oliver
From the moment we arrived, the owner greeted us warmly and shared lots of helpful tips about the local area, from cafes and shops to beaches and walks-really appreciated that! We brought our two Huskiesand they were made to feel very welcome, which was a lovely touch. The owner mentioned they were available if we needed anything, but honestly, the location was so perfect we didn’t need to bother. The Jacuzzi was a real treat after long beach walks-everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We’d definitely come back!
