Bydown Barn Reviews

Grace
Fantastic stay at Bydown barn, amazing location, excellent cottage/barn. Our hosts were very polite and welcoming and told about the area and places we could go to (which we did and we loved). 100% will be going again and definitely will bring my dog with us next time. Thank you so much again.
Lucy
Overall, the property was cosy and clean, and the hosts both extended a warm welcome. The surrounding landscape was beautiful and the barn was cosy. However, it should be made much clearer that the property is literally on the owner's frequented driveway next to the main house. The balcony overlooks the kid's play area. Overall less private than exRead morepected. Also, there was no separate bathroom at all - it's all one room with a bedroom. There was also no storage space for clothes (only one rail). Hide

An incredible place with beautiful design that matches the beauty of the surroundings. The hosts are friendly / available as needed without feeling like they are in your space. Great location for enjoying Devon and to feel like you're in the countryside. Would highly recommend!

Had a lovely stay but would not say dog friendly. Really lovely barn. Jen and Nick were very friendly and gave us plenty of ideas and places to visit. The location of the Barn was perfect too, nothing was to far away for days out. We would definitely recommend Bydown Barn. Thank you Jen & Nick for making our holiday perfect. Tracey & Gary Glover.

Beautiful building in a beautiful location. Silent at night, just the hoot of an owl to be heard. Spent lovely dark, starry nights in a secluded bubbly hot tub. The hosts are a lovely family & there for us if we needed anything. The barn seems basic at first but for us, had everything we needed. Had some lovely walks & drives around the county. We was unlucky with the weather but not unlucky with this holiday. Really lovely hosts, we made the most of the hot tub, one of the nicest ones weve been in. We loved our stay at Bydown Barn. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was an added bonus! The owners were helpful, kind and accommodating. It was lovely to be able to take the dog with us as well. The barn is in a beautiful rural setting and it was lovely to hear the cows and sheep in the morning! We would definitely come back again to stay . Thank you.

Fantastic little slice of country side paradise! Remote, but not too isolated. Spacious, quiet and comfy. Amazing hot tub. Brilliant hosts and very dog friendly. 10/10 would visit again.

The stay was amazing, we were warmly greeted by Nick and Jenny as we came into the barn. The Barn itself is very spacious, modern and clean. Very nice area and very convenient as it was ~30 minutes drive to bideford and westward ho beach and ~15 minutes to supermarkets. The hosts, Nick and Jenny (and their dog Dexter) was very friendly and accommod ating making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Highly recommend this stay and will come again if the chance pops up!

Absolutely gorgeous stunning little country escape. I adored my time there, you could stay at the cabin and not leave the whole stay. If you wanted too. Take a supplies with you, a great kitchen, strong efficient oven! You have everything you might need to cook. The design is just fab a super comfy bed. The perfect setting for unwinding and distres sing.

Fabulous place to stay but for couples you need to be comfortable with each other as there isn't much privacy for toilet times apart from that I wouldn't change a thing
Martin
Fantastic location and owners were lovely and very helpful

Graham
Great place, comfortable, peaceful didnt need for anything. Nick & Jan really friendly and helpful great recommendations on where to visit and eat. And I mustnt forget Dexter the dog who is happy to come and say hello and have a belly rub. And a biscuit x Thanks Guys, we had a great time.
Linda
The owners gave us a warm welcome and live close by. We loved the cottage's quirky rustic style. The Victorian spiral staircase was a beautiful feature for example. Some luxuries were also included such as an enameled slipper bath, a very comfortable bed with quality linen duvet cover and pillowcases. The lounge-settee and flooring were also high e nd luxury items. Set in the rolling hilly meadows of rural Devon but only a short drive from coastal areas and lively towns/villages with loads to do
Elizabeth
The hosts were amazing. Beautiful property and location, once you get used to the roads in Devon. The bed in the property is great, best sleep we have had in a long time, helped by the lack of noise and no street lights A great pub in walking distance. We travelled all over the north of Devon and into Cornwall. Travelled to Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilf racombe, Clovelly, Tintagel Castle, Sandiford vineyards, all within 1 hours drive. Would recommend the curry on the beach in Woolacombe.
Gary
A fantastic barn conversion in an idyllic spot. Nick and Jen were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to ensure everything was OK. Will hopefully revisit soon.
Lesley
Cottage was so nice and we had a relaxing stay. Owners were lovely and helpful, nothing too much trouble. We found lots of things to do within a fairly short distance of where we were staying. Would definitely recommend x
shawn
Beautiful setting, lovely property and helpful hosts.
Jules
Hosts Jenny and Nick were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was extremely comfortable.
David
Really great place to stay, not too far from the coast and other places to go, clean, comfy and the hosts were very nice and welcoming.
Caroline
Lovely barn conversion very tasfully done felt like no expense spared ,. A shame the barn isnt facing the fields and the sun doesnt reach balcony so evening when we hoped to sit in golden hour it was shaded and chilly , a broom for deck would be great to sweep leaves away so you can walk on decking with out bringing back in half a tree .if we were to stay again we would request the lodge which is more isolated south facing and has a hot tub ,barn not suitable for hot tub as no sun on balcony
