Ocean View Reviews

We had a wonderful stay at Ocean View. It is quite remote but we were expecting that so did a food shop before we travelled and got any extras when we were out exploring. House itself is very homely. The hot tub and games room enticed us to book and were highlights! Views from the house are stunning. Lighting could be improved throughout the house and there seemed to be a bit of a fly problem but that aside, would totally recommend if you want a holiday escaping it all, enjoying the views and the local area.
Michelle
Wonderful, comfortable holiday home! So very peaceful. Note, it's remote with no local shop but farm shop 15 mins drive supplies a great array of products plus has a hot food cafe. Games room was great for the couple of rainy days we had whilst staying there for a week. Hot tub a joy after the days exploring the rame peninsula. My partner has mobility challenges, but managed the stairs down to bedrooms and decking area ok. Might be challenging for others. Large outside area fab for enjoying the peace and quiet whilst taking in sea view. Lovely to have use of the telescope and binoculars to watch the fishing boats and dolphins playing. Space for one car in the drive which is on a slope, but plenty of parking on road. Highly recommend Bewsheas tapas restaurant just a short walk down the hill. Loved staying here and highly recommend if you are looking for something off beaten track and quiet beaches. Pure relaxation. Thank you Ocean View.
Nice property in rural location . Would benefit from a deep clean as mould is present in one of the bedrooms next to the family bathroom and curtains in the ensuite are grubby. House did have a musty smell when first entering. In our opinion the house is not suitable for under 4s with steep stairs and open bannisters. Overall we still enjoyed our stay and communications with ownermanager were v.good
This property was perfect! Would definitely stop again and recommend particularly for a family. Clean and extremely well equipped. Only thing which let it down which is of absolutely no fault of the home owners themselves was location. Was a little more remote than I thought and no local shop what so ever. Approx 15 min drive to a shop. But that is the only thing we could complain about. House itself was 1010!!
The property had everything advertised & more and the view from the window was spectacular. We were not reliant on the weather to have a good holiday because we had use of the hot tub and the games room. The only disappointing thing was the lack of parking space for two vehicles especially as the road outside the property was so narrow. I would though not hesitate to recommend this property.
Beautiful property, with a stunning elevated view over the bay. Great facilities for guests of all ages. We enjoyed the games room, when the weather turned inclement. Well proportioned rooms, with space for all. Limited off road parking, but lots of space on the road. Child friendly, but not so much for infants, as the internal staircase is not toddler friendly, we had to be watchful with the baby, but we are as parents and grand parents. Overall we loved our stay, and have recommended it to friends already.
Fantastic place! ! Location great. Nice and homely
Although the property was in a good location unfortunately attention to detail in cleanliness and maintenance was not as expected issues as follows Cupboard dirty and old foodwine left in cupboard, large cobweb in corner by telescope, dirty glasses and crockery, freezer with food stains, leaking gutter outside kitchen, hot tub noisy through the night, games table catches broken, pool table cloth and balls badly damaged, darts unusable, no ping pong balls provided, milk frother for coffee machine unusable due to not being clean and smell. Black mould in en suite shower room and toilet seats in main bathroom very loose. Windows on the inside were filthy, bin outside full of maggots. The radiator in the lounge was held on by the settee and luckily we didnt need the central heating. Outside table also filthy. Whilst this is a large list we did enjoy our stay and found the other facilities such as beds, bed linen, size of house to be good.
The property was absolutely stunning, even better than the photos! The view was incredible, the house had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful when I had a couple of questions. The whole group was blown away by the house, I would absolutely recommend staying here and would love to go back!
Great holiday home and great views from the house.
Excellent, spacious and clean property with superb views. Is a good base for visiting the surrounding area and always better when weather is good.
Suited our purpose very well, a good sized property for a large family spanning three generations. There was always something to do as the games room provided great entertainment betweeen outings. The view is spectacular especially in good weather, we did a lot of boat spotting using the telescope and binoculars. The locals were very friendly, including the people in the shop in the village. It was quiet out of season which made accessibility straight forward.
Such a lovely house, everything was as in the photos in fact better. We really enjoyed our stay. The views are incredible and the house is so comfortable and has everything you need. If you have mobility issues then perhaps not the house for you as there are a lot of steps.

This is a very well kept house very comfortable with everything you would need. great having the coffee machine and pool table was used every day due to weather being bad but we enjoyed our stay very much just a short walk down the hill to village and beach and great view to wake up to. The only thing because of bad weather it would of been great to have some sort of over head shelter at the back of the house to make best use when bad weather like there was at the front door. Wonderful stay thank you!
Sebastian
The property was lovely and the views fantastic, there was nothing we didn't like about it.
We had an amazing stay, the property was just as we hoped. The only slight negative would be how slippy the decking is when it rained. My son slipped over a couple of times walking to the games room. Not sure if that is something that can be improved. He was fine by the way! Other than that everything was great.
Loved this property and would certainly recommend a stay here. It's lovely and clean, well equipped and comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of us both indoors and the outside seating area, with great sea views. It was a great base to visit the surrounding area with the benefit of coming back to relax in the hot tub or use the games room. Can't fault our stay at all.
What an amazing place you have! ! We were in love as soon as we walked into the lounge! And the coffee and bar area was my favourite room! We sent a video to friends and they were all in awe, thank you! You asked for suggestions and there were some items we had to buy so I thought youd want to know for future guests.. Face cloths Dish cloths Potato peeler Also you could do with a sharp knife and some pans that are compatible with the hob. They said they were but we kept getting an error on the hob that made cooking difficult pans not compatible or placed incorrectly Short uses seemed fine but it was when the hob had been in use for a longer spell, ie for a larger meal. We ate in a lot as you can see but I guess many will who have a large group to feed x The rest of the house was so well equipped and we LOVED the coffee machine and mugs. I just heard theres a feedback form sent too so I will fill this out also.
Sharon
Fantastic property we had a lovely time. A bbq would be nice and better handles on the inside of the en suite bathroom handles.
Lovely house great views and very well equipped the beds were lovely and comfy ... Lovely house great views and very well equipped the beds were lovely and comfy the only downside is there is loads of steps and very steep if you have trouble with your knees or walking this may not be the house for you and the toilet seats needs looking at as they are loose All in all a fantastic house
Great accommodation and well equipped property with fantastic views.
Thomasina
All three generations had a wonderful stay. The house is lovely nicely decorated and clean, although some spots were missed under the sofas and there was a broken plate in the cupboard. Easily big enough for the ten of us to have our own space too. Views were amazing we spent a lot of time watching the world go by from the dining room or in the hot tub, which was cleanedchecked at least twice during our week. We all enjoyed the games room too. Couldnt fault this house one bit and the neighbours were very friendly. All thats missing for us was a potato masher, pizza cutter and a Cafeteria. We couldnt find the pods for the coffee machine, and although we didn't need them as it was warm enough, no logs were provided for the log burner. Would thoroughly recommend making Ocean View your south Cornish base.
Wow, Oceanview is a dream holiday home, it is very clean, big and each bedroom is big, beds are very comfortable. The owners have put a massive amount of time and effort to make sure that your holiday starts well. The view from inside looking out are spectacular, there is a wood burner and a fantastic games room. Definitely choose this home because you will not regret it. The beach is very close and you can enjoy exploring and hiking and dog's are allowed on the beach. When we returned from our visits around Cornwall we always looked forward to coming back home to chill and jump into the Hot Tub. The garden is big enough for you children andor dog's to play around in. There is a parking space available. Oceanview is massive and beautiful and you can relax and have a great time. I would recommend Oceanview to anyone.
Stewart
The cleaning was not top rate with crumbs and rubbish under sofa cushions. Cigarette buts on the steps outside, black dog hair in sitting room. Mold around both. Broken step on way down to garden.
Rebecca
We were so impressed with the property it was above and beyond beautiful however our experience was unfortunately marred by the fact that the hot tub wasn't maintained during our stay apparently the cleaner was away. we were unable to use it for the last 2 days of our stay as it smelt and 3 of our party ended up with skin infections on our return which I feel can't be purely a coincidence. Such a shame as everything else was absolutely perfect .
Brilliant place to stay, with magnificent views and it is great to have a hot tub to laze in on lazy days
Andrew
Nine of us met for a family holiday. Which, because of Covid, was the first time we had all been together since Christmas 2019. Ocean View proved to be an excellent base for all three generations !!!
