About Buckland House and Annex

Buckland House and Annex is a wonderful, detached holiday home resting in Lower Durston near Taunton, Somerset. Ideal for large families and friend groups, offering guests a whole host of bedrooms, an indulgent hot tub and a barbecue for al fresco dining this holiday home is certainly not to be missed!

Starting off with the annexe, there is an open-plan living space in here which has a seamless flow of the kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Couples can enjoy the convenience of having all their necessities in one space!

There is a toasty electric fire to keep you nice and warm as well as a Smart TV in the bedroom for when you want to enjoy a lie-in. Over to the main house and there is no expense spared with lovely living areas and a fun-filled games room!

The living areas consist of a kitchen, dining room and sitting room which has a lovely woodburning stove for those colder evenings. Take the afternoon chit-chat outside and enjoy a sizzling barbecue, a steamy dip in the hot tub or even a swim in the pool!

When you decide to turn in there is a plethora of spacious bedrooms including five super-king rooms all with Smart TVs and a triple bunk which is great for any younger guests. Discover nearby attractions like Wells Cathedral or Dunster Castle.

Make the most of the idyllic surroundings with a gentle stroll, or a bike ride exploring a range of trails and paths while taking in the stunning views of verdant landscapes. Why not visit the town of Bridgwater, where you can admire the historic architecture and browse the delightful shops and cafes that line its streets?

For a day out, head to the market town of Tiverton to explore the striking Tiverton Castle and visit the local museums and galleries. If you fancy a day by the coast, travel to Weston-super-Mare to enjoy its sandy beaches, lively arcades, and bustling promenade.

Situated in the hamlet of Knapp just outside the highly popular village of North Curry, which has a shop/post office, coffee shop and a pub. Taunton, the County Town of Somerset, is approximately 7 miles with an extensive shopping mix, restaurants, leisure facilities, the County Cricket ground and racecourse. There are miles of walks to be enjoyed directly from the property which meander through a rural landscape teeming with wildlife. Local wildlife safaris can be arranged prior to your stay which is a fantastic way of discovering all that Somerset has to offer. The central location makes it perfect for visiting both coastlines including pretty Watchet and Blue Anchor Bay to the North and the popular seaside towns of Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth to the South. Step into the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with apex ceilings, beautiful exposed beams, oak flooring and wood burner, a perfect place for a quiet, or romantic break away. Settle in for a snug evening with a feast, a bottle of wine and a film on the Smart TV. This sympathetically developed barn conversion has been lovingly transformed into a modern style living space with integrations of wooden furnishings and ceiling beams offering a tranquil and awe-inspiring idyllic rural surroundings in the Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. Located on the edge of the Quantocks situated near stunning locations such as Exmoor with its wild ponies and red deer; quaint villages are also nearby such as Dunster where you can visit the Dunster Castle. Other amenities here are tea shops, ice cream shops and a working water on the River Avill. Entering the rustic red brick building from the bi-folding front door opens up the large open plan interior; the initial area will be the snug lounge complete with a sofa, armchair and TV. This area has a wood burner and has DVD capabilities. Beside the living area is the open plan kitchen/diner decorated in a modern mix of white, black and oak furnishings. The kitchen includes electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area contains a wooden table with cushioned seats. Up two stairs from the kitchen is the king size bedroom complete with bedside unit and body length mirror. The bathroom contains a sink, WC and a large walk in shower. Underfloor heating is available. Outside there is an enclosed garden with an eco wood-fired hot tub, patio area, garden furniture (table and chairs) and a BBQ. For those who want to make the most of the serene countryside surroundings, there are miles of walks to be enjoyed directly from the front door, or you can head to the bustling town of Taunton which has a range of great pubs and restaurants (8 miles). The tranquil Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (9.5 miles) offers miles of panoramic views over exposed heathlands and lush woodlands. The wonderful Blackdown Hills are to the south (6 miles), stretching along the border with Devon. Entering this cheerful property, step through into the main open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you will be greeted by fantastic floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views across the Somerset landscape. The lounge area is ideally situated by the windows so you can sit back and take in the scenery. Here you can also settle down in the evenings to watch TV in front of the snug wood burner. Here you can sit back and enjoy the fabulous hot tub with incredible countryside views (please arrange with the owner before arrival). There is plenty of outdoor furniture here, as well as a BBQ making it ideal for enjoying al fresco dining. If you fancy a game of tennis you will have access to the owner's tennis courts by prior arrangement.
