This quaint log-cabin-style hut has got to be the ultimate couple’s coastal bolthole – that is if you like relaxing by the sea! Sit and absorb the unobstructed sea views from the hot tub on the deck, day or night. If the weather isn’t playing ball, you can even see the water from the sofa and the bed inside, such is the clever design. So, bring your other half and your best canine chums for the holiday of a lifetime in this elevated, cliff-top position on the outskirts of Freathy, in the often-overlooked area near the Rame Head Heritage Coast. Get out walking, take a dip or just stay put and recharge your batteries… The glass front of this beach hut gives it a spacious and luxurious feel. Rustic wood and decking outside give way to wood panelling and stylish bright interiors. The living area is open-plan, with a small but well-equipped kitchen area at the back of the room. To the front, the lounge area offers comfortable seating in front of the bi-folding doors, that open to make you feel like you’re outside. There’s even a bistro dining table indoors, too. Step down slightly into the cosy double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside, the fantastic decked area offers sun loungers, a BBQ and outdoor furniture – as well as that all-important hot tub. You can access the 3 miles of sandy beach along Whitsand Bay via the cliff path from this property, so walkies with your dogs pose no problem. Stop to check out the rock pools along the way or watch the surfers. But, if you want to blow the cobwebs away, join the South West Coast Path which passes through.

Nestled into the cliff, this romantic retreat boasts spectacular sea views and offers plenty of bohemian charm. Enjoy chilled days frolicking on the golden sands, ambling along the dramatic coast path and exploring picturesque seaside towns. Then grab a glass of something chilled and snuggle on the outdoor daybed watching the sunset, before bubbling in the hot tub beneath the stars. Originating in the 1950s, this delightful abode was rebuilt during the 1980s, before being redesigned and refurbished in 2017 to stunning effect. Thoughtfully arranged with exquisite attention to detail, the interiors blend reclaimed treasures with beachside chic and lots of homely touches. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has a definite wow factor. Bi-fold doors run the width of the room, opening to the terrace. Sink into the couch and gaze out to sea (there is a TV should you bore of the view!). Rustle up dinner for two in the corner kitchen and enjoy a romantic meal on the dining table or the picnic table on the patio. There is no need to forfeit that view when it’s time for bed either. Simply head next door and snuggle under the covers of your king-size bed, then watch the sunrise from bed through the patio doors. A small bunk room next door can accommodate young children, and a shower room completes this luxurious retreat. For salty beach days, a cliff path leads down to the golden sands, or you can strike out with your pooch and walk some of the South West Coast Path in either direction. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area including the picturesque fishing harbour of Looe (13.5 miles) with its sandy beach and fresh fish restaurants. Boats run daily to Looe Island, a former holy pilgrimage site, now famous for its nature and wildlife.

Great accommodation with fantastic hosts. The lodge has everything you could possibly need along with beautiful views. The nearby beach is breathtakingly beautiful and the on site bar done lovely food. A very relaxing stay, we have already re-booked!
Jacqui
Good views from the lodge, evertything supplied you could need. The slope down to the accomodation was a faff with luggage, but manageable. Swimming pool is lovely, but quite expensive 6.45 for one hour. Nice area to visit away from the madness of some parts of Cornwall.
Fiona
Brilliant property. Well equipped. Comfy beds. Quite a trek from the car park, but at least it kept me fit!
Yulia
We enjoyed our visit. View from our lodge was amazing. We had everything we needed.
Helen
Lovely chalet and great view. Hot tub was a bonus and lovely to have. A nice quiet spot. Lots of hills and walking but beautiful beaches just over the road. Good owners. Lots of contact as needed. Would go again.
Jeffrey
A lovely place to stay, the cottage was great and you couldn't fault the view or the lovely hot tub. We had a lovely week there and after a week, felt totally relaxed and refreshed
Emma
We had a really lovely time. 2 adults and 3 children under 10 stayed comfortably with plenty of room to not be under each others feet. The hot tub was a lovely retreat for when the children had gone to bed and the on site swimming pool was perfect for our energetic children! The weather was amazing for our entire weeks stay so this was a nice base to explore nearby attractions such as Eden Project and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park both of which I highly recommend. All in all fabulous stay.
Marc
Beautiful views, good accommodation, wonderful hot tub. Thanks for leaving a cake, milk, hot drinks, visitor towels, ice packs, First aid bag, and cleaning equipment. very well equipped overall. Stunning views from the balcony and beautiful beach less than 1km away. Small walk from village for amenities, e.g. co-op, cafe, pub, fresh produce, charit y shop. Great place for a quiet retreat.
Ray
The lodge was beautiful everything you could ever need whilst on holiday. A real home from home. Lovely, clean very cosy and welcoming. The hot tube is a fantastic addition - really good quality and the massage and lights make it so relaxing. The lodge itself does have disabled access but from car park, its steep and getting the loaded luggage trol ley up and down was an issue. If requested disabled help can be provided by the park staff Highly recommend will definitely stay again.
Emma
Absolutely beautiful location, owners really kind by leaving milk, cream and chocolate cake!!. Well equipped lodge with every thing you could possibly need and the spa is amazing. This is a dog friendly property, so absolutely brilliant for dogs but not so nice for people that don't have dogs as dog hair everywhere..
Daniel
This place was absolutely stunning, the view from the hot tub and property was amazing, the lodge had everything you need for a self catering holiday, the WiFI was very good and location was excellent. The owner Chris was very helpful and we will definitely being going back. We stayed with our 2 daughters and our dog and there was so much room. Sup ermarket only 5 mins away and on-site swimming Pool and restaurant are well worth a visit. Thank you for an amazing half term stay.
Hollie
Beautiful peaceful location....as a privately owned lodge you will be required to pay for the use of the pool costing !SELECTED!!ENDOFSELECTED!10 for 2 children and 1 adult to watch. Very quiet site so perhaps not one for children. Food in the main bar was very disappointing. Owners are very helpful and kind but we won't be returning.
Sylvie
The lodge is really lovely. Well equipped and owners are great. There is a ahort steep hill back up to car park and you cant park by lodge so can be tricky if you have mobilty problems. We had a mobility scooter which needex a bit of help! Staff on site are lovely.
Philip
We will book again as we enjoyed the amazing views
Jasmin
Had an amazing stay at the property. The facilities and people on site were lovely and made the visits to the cafe and pub really enjoyable, great roast dinner on Sunday as well! The location was perfect, out the way so it was peaceful but only a short drive to the surrounding areas. Definitely worth a walk into Millbrook and a shopping trip to Ply mouth! The owner was very friendly and helpful when giving arrival details, we will definitely look to stay again.
Vanessa
Lovely place and accommodation. Well thought out and resourced. A great break even though the weather wasn't kind to us.
Alfie
Great views from the location, not sure you can see Plymouth Sound from it. Only downside was the distance from the carpark.
Julian
Very comfortable and clean. Perfect for a getaway week
Lee
Beautiful place and this was perfect for celebrating my Mother's 60th Birthday celebrations. It's a great base location to move around the area, Chris gave me lots of tips on where to go and it took us to a fantastic beach for kayaking. Also a lovely lodge, lots of room and especially lovely chilling in the hot tub in the evening. Thank you for a b reak to remember.
Jill
Lovely accommodation on a lovely site. Owners very friendly and helpful
Robert
The accommodation was itself was first class but beware of it's location, on the site, if you have anyone in your party who us elderly or infirm.
