The Farmhouse - within the Helland Barton Farm collection Reviews

All we can say about this house is WOW, absolutely stunning. It is equipped with everything you would need. We all had an amazing time here, the Grandkids loved the garden and maze. Its central for getting out and about. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended.
Jonathan
What a beautiful property. The location is perfect, rural and peaceful. The house is decked out with high quality decor and fittings. The kitchen is lovely, and we had everything that we needed to cook for our family The hot tub was amazing too. And thd main bedroom was so comfortable and the bath was so stylish. The whole place is a wow place to stay! Very comfortable house for our family.
Beautiful property, expensively furnished and kitted out.
What a beautiful beautiful property, we had a lovely time and would love to one day return. Just a couple of minor issues, a couple of the days a maintenance guy came to paint the wall and was there pretty much 2 full days which meant we couldn't sit outside or kids use hot tub as it felt a bit awkward. A concrete digger was quite loud on a couple of the days which was in next field so not owners fault. There was a leak in wet room that is located above bedroom with chair basket, unfortunately water leaked onto the bed, which we only noticed on last day. Those niggles aside this property is truly stunning and the views are amazing,, we would love to come back one day, truly magical..
This place is fantastic it had the wow factor had everything you need everything ... This place is fantastic it had the wow factor had everything you need everything is catered for and my dogs loved all the space just exploring the huge garden knowing that they were safe In the garden and couldnt get out was just lovely would certainly go back
Debbie
Absolutely stunning property, beautifully designed throughout, would definitely recommend it,great for large family or friends.
Pictures dont do the place justice the farmhouse exceeded our expectations, there was 6 adults a toddler and a dog on the trip and we all loved it, everything is high quality and if you wanted to you wouldnt have to leave the house! Will be booking again for sure!
Property and facilities were amazing we had a great week. Loved the maze as did my grandson
Andrew
Tbh there was nothing to complain about! , but for a couple of suggestions, the bbq and summer house should be on the cleaning rota as part of the house, as it was a little unclean. The rope snappedfell apart on the lifebuoy float ring and should probably be on a safety check rota, although, we noticed it was replaced the very next day..Apart from that, the house was very spacious, modern, clean, tidy, very well decorated, and I had a wonderful stay with my growing family, thank you!
Angela
We stayed as a family of six adults and one child aged 4. Our first impressions were this place Is stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the fact that we were in the middle of nowhere with nothing but views and wildlife, yet close enough to travel by car to lots of lovely beaches and cliff top walks. Would highly recommend.
Michelle
This house was amazing the photos don't do it justice it's bigger than it looks ... This house was amazing the photos don't do it justice it's bigger than it looks and grounds for dogs were huge everything in the house was top quality we can't wait to come back next year x
Lesley
Spotlessly clean, the photos dont do it justice, Its usually difficult to find a large house with enough space for everyone to not feel on top of one another, this house more than ticked this box. The grounds to the farmhouse were huge, would definitely like to book for the summer. You wouldnt need to leave the house!!, theres an outside enclosed area tiki house. Everything in the house has been thought out, high quality products and furnishings used.
This is the second time we have visited the property and the house itself is fabulous as is the location, if a little remote, you can reach several destinations by car. We were disappointed at being told of a change of lay out the day before our visit and the entrance is now not as roomy and there is not enough comfortable seating for 810 people to actually sit together as what was the living room is now another bedroom. Also the hot tub was again still locked at winter temperature which I had requested before our stay be put on as this had happened last time we stayed. To be fair John Bray sent someone out that night but he could still not get the hot tub up to temperature to use until the next day, just a little disappointing and you do not need to be calling on the first night there. Overall we all enjoyed our stay. The housekeepers were most helpful as was the groundsman.
Samantha
Our second stay here with all the family for new year, again it was just lovely! Just a couple of things we had an issue with the heating and dishwasher this time, it would have been nice to be informed that the dishwasher wasnt working proir to our stay as we stacked it up and found out it was broke after a new years dinner Some more kitchen utensils needed like a masher pizza tray and the oven dish was also broke on arrival Just a suggestion maybe Christmas tree would have been a nice touch for Christmas new year time We will definitely be back
It was a perfect cottage to have a family relaxing break from the busy outside world. The farmhouse is mind blowingly beautiful, comfortable and is kitted out with every top end luxury. We chose it because we wanted to lock the door, spend time in the hot tub, relax and make a dent on the sofa as a family. The farmhouse achieved all of the above and is most definitely worth the money. Thank you for an awesome holiday. In addition, Sykes cottages were amazing from start to finish and handled all our idiosyncrasies with professionalism and promptness. We will definitely use them again and highly recommend anyone thinking of using them.
Michael
The property was beautiful and clean, we had a great stay and will look to rebook again.
Lovely stay again, already booked for next year. Beautiful place to stay
Christian
Our second stay at this fantastic property and once again it did not disappoint. Beautifully clean and well presented upon arrival the house offers everything you could need for a truly relaxing stay in North Cornwall. We cant wait to come back!
It was a really lovely place, we were impressed with the property and were very happy with our stay.
Fabulous place to stay
We stayed in the house with another family, 3 teenagers and 4 adults in total. We all loved the farmhouse and agreed that if we didn't leave the place the whole week it would still feel like a holiday! The photos don't do it justice, it's simply beautiful. The fixtures and fittings are high end, the decor is wonderful, it's excellently equipped and the grounds are just stunning the views over the valley are something else. Everything is provided for you and it's the perfect place to relax away from the busy tourist areas yet within 30 mins drive of Port Isaac, Trebarwith, Tintagel, Boscastle and Polzeath. Padstow is about 45 minutes away. The hot tub was well used and so relaxing, just what you need after a day body boarding in Polzeath! The village itself is quiet, not much going on but we had the best fish and chips from the local chippie in Delabole. Would also recommend Tintagel Brewery & Bistro for food 5 min drive from the house and Port William in Trebarwith great veggie options and an incredible view particularly if you catch the sunset. Would highly recommend this house, it's beautiful and we will likely book again for next summer.
We booked The Farmhouse for our minimoon straight after our wedding in July 2023. The photos and the description were fantastic but nothing really prepared us for how incredible the property really is. Its simply stunning. The entire property was impeccably decorated and maintained. The quality of the crockery, kitchenware and cookware was excellent. The gardens beautiful, they had even made a small maze in the grounds. A perfect spot for a few days to enjoy relaxing and exploring. We went to Polzeath, Port Isaac and Tintagel as well as a trip down to Penzance and Lands End. All well worth a visit. The best supermarket we found was the big Tesco at Wadebridge to guarantee finding all the items you want. The local farm shops were lovely too though with a small selection of goods. If the property is still available as a holiday let in two years then we will 100 be back for a big family birthday. We cant wait.
Amazing place to spend a great week with family. Beautiful garden, incredible views, all bedrooms and living space outstanding, dream kitchen for a chef of any standard and a simply wonderful terrace with chic sheltered eating area and massive BBQ. Helland Barton Farm is a slice of heaven, with everything you could possibly want for a holiday. I have no doubt we will visit again soon.
We had a fantastic week the barn was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. All the appliances were top of the range the view from the downstairs main bedroom is amazing and the beds were extremely comfortable the maze in the garden was a lovely touch as were the hot tub and summer house. Couldn't fault it amazing week. Thank you.
Amazing place to stay. Stunning surroundings and excellently appointed. Have booked again for next year, definitely recommend.
Absolutely stunning property garden beautiful breathtaking countryside would definitely love to stay again
Sandra
What an incredible property. It was just perfect for a family holiday with our grown up family. Everyone had so much room, the facilities were amazing, the gardens are beautiful and the view across the valley is breathtaking. Already planning a return visit for next year! Thank you x
Great place, large and lovely grounds. The house was clean and very well appointed. Large spacious kitchen with every appliance you could ever need and a great view across the garden and valley. Loved the hot tub great after a busy day. Very private behind automatic doors that open into a large parking area, ponds and gardens. Tintagel about 5 miles away. Boscastle around 7 so very handy. Local fish and chip shop was good and used several times when running late. Highly recommended.
Richard
Absolutely stunning property. The best weve ever stayed at. Secluded. Peaceful, had everything we needed and more. A great base, within easy reach of north Cornwall towns. We just stayed in a few days and relaxed, we had so much space we kept losing each other.! The garden was beautiful and the boys cocker spaniels loved running around and playing. Were already planning a return trip later in the year. 1010 !!
Samantha
Fantastic holiday the best we have ever stayed in it had everything and more cant pick anything wrong amazing We have re booked for New Years Eve and we cant wait ! ! Hopefully we get snowed in lol
This is, by far, the nicest property we have ever stayed in. The property looked amazing in the photos, but was even better in person.. it was literally stunning. Everything was brand new, absolutely spotless, and every room smelt amazing we even purchased some of the diffusers from a store in Padstow as they smelt so good!!. The owners had obviously thought about everything including the lovely welcome basket, and the hot tub was incredible. The house was so lovely that on our first night we even looked at when it was available to rent again! The groundsman, Paul, was extremely friendly, such a lovely guy and was there if we had any problemsneeded any recommendations. The property provides lovely body washbody lotion in every bathroom. The kitchen was one of our favourite rooms and had amazing views over the garden and surrounding fields. We have only been home a day but are already missing being in property and cant wait to return!!
Absolutely amazing Thank you! !
Christian
Fantastic property in a beautiful, secluded location with stunning views from all sides. The house had everything we needed and was a fantastic base to explore North Cornwall. Clean and beautifully presented upon arrival we cant wait to come back again! Truly a five star experience.
