Ty Gwennol Reviews

Great property, location and hosts. Will definitely stay again.

It can be difficult to find a property for a UK holiday. Typically there will be always something wrong with it. Ty Gwennol is as close to perfection as you could possibly get Run by Martin and Elaine, they had it super clean when we arrived. They were both delightful and attentive to our needs without being overwhelming or in your face. The 3 bedrooms are all comfy and loverly. Reasonably dark at night for those people that struggle to sleep with light. Each room also had a touch that doubled as a night light which was a loverly touch if you needed it. The beds were super clean and comfy. Plenty of storage with hangers provided. The kitchen is very well stocked. So if your bringing lots of food like we did you won't feel underequipped. Great size table. Decent sized fridge freezer. There was also a fantastically little coffee maker provided. Living room was so cosy and very comfy. Great tv with a good variety of channels. Including Netflix, amazon, Disney etc. Plenty of atmospheric lights in the living room. A loverly Woodburner. We ran out of all the stuff and martin refilled it when we asked with no issues. Easy access to the hot tub which is placed very well for stargazing. Well maintained and cleaned throughout stay. Although we never saw them clean it as they did it while we were out on adventures. It's a loverly peice of land with a dog safe rear garden. Martin and Elaine do have dogs which were loverly to cudle but did not like my dog. So when out the front best keep pets on the lead. The location is loverly. Your on a loverly peice of land tucked away. There are some beautiful horses. If you like to run we ran along the land and along the roads. Just go left out the property or it all hill hahah. It's a heavenly and peaceful place. You are only 20 mins from Hollyhead and Trearddur Bay which have almost the shops you could need. Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, B&M etc. There are some amazing costal walks you can take. Anglesey is beautiful. I used the Altrails app to find the. However, Martin and Elaine know the area well and directed us to several walks but also beaches that were essentially ours as no one seemed to know about them. In terms of walks I recommend the trearddur circuit north west coastline of Trearddur Bay. It's starts a a beautiful beach cove and then go's along the cost. Only short 90 mins but you can make it a lot longer. There were some loverly little suprise touches in the cottage throughout but I won't spoil them. It's rare for a place to be so perfect but it is. If you decide to stay here. The season won't matter. You will be at peace.

The main things missing for us was a tv in at lease one of the bedroom. It isnt really ideal to all have to watch the same tv. Also a light that lights up the garden.
Deborah
Lovely property, very private and everything thought of to make stay very comfortable. Super dog friendly. Owners are lovely and dog & horse lovers themselves. Garden has a high but discrete fence around so super safe for the dogs. Lots of beaches close by and also dog friendly. Martin owner was very helpful with local information. Prosecco and chocolates were much appreciated.

We had a lovely week at Ty Gwennol. Martin was a great host and was available to help us when we needed advice. Everything was as described on the website, if not better. The kitchen is well equipped and it was perfect for our multigenerational group! The hottub was a great feature and the gardens were particularly wellmaintained and beautiful. We found the location perfect as a base for exploring Anglesey. There were beautiful beaches and lots of good eating options nearby. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived we knew this cottage was special. Better even than its description, the cottage has been beautifully fitted out and maintained by Elaine and Martin, Inside and out everything was prepared to a high standard. The hot tub was a joy! Our dogs were immediately at home and unlike some owners who claim gardens are secure, the large garden was both beautiful and totally safe. Owners live on site. This was never intrusive. They were always approachable, friendly and helpful. This is a site and location that we would happily give 6 stars out of 5, if that was possible. We will be back!

Everything you could want , including the nicest most helpful owners of anywhere I have stayed, kindness oozes from them, they made my holiday better for being around !
We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful comfortable rural cottage. Loads of space and different sitting areas. The hot tub is massive and was well used. Elaine and Martin were the perfect hosts, very friendly and accommodating. It was lovely to hear non stop bird song and nothing else. Enjoyed walks on the nearby sandy beach. Has a wonderful holiday and hoping to be back next year highly recommended.
Katherine
Great cottage comfortable, warm, and had everything we needed. Its lovely being so peaceful and hearing only the birds. Hot tub is fantastic and the outside space lovely and dog friendly. Owners are really helpful and on hand. Our second time there so would highly recommend.
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful spacious property. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated and equipped with everything you need the owners's care and diligence is evident . The location is extremely peaceful and the garden is secure which was great for us being able to enjoy the hot tub, while Louis our Boxer dog enjoyed himself. Rhosneigr and Sandy Bay are not far away, which are fabulous to experience. Thank you Elaine & Martin, Emma, Sean, Alba & Louis .
Elaine and Martin are lovely couple, one hand when we arrived just to show us how the heating worked and a lovely fire burning in the sitting room, the welcome pack was a really nice thing too, chocolate, wine and flowers. The cottage itself was nice ,it's on a small holding with the owners house next to it and horses
Joanne
What a lovely place to stay and the hosts were super lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and look forward to it.

We have just spent Christmas at Ty Gwennol, Elaine and Martin are the perfect hosts, friendly and welcoming. They are on hand if you need them, but not intrusive in the slightest, will do anything they can to make sure you have the best stay, its the little touches that add to the experience fire lit on arrival, basket of goodies and supplies in the kitchen. The cottage is beautiful and kept to a very high standard, its spotless. I would highly recommend staying here. The welcome pack, log fire and hot tub were great. We had a fantastic time and would definitely book again. Thankyou Elaine and Martin.
Lovely stay in the cottage which is in a very quiet location. Thanks to the lovely owners for providing everything we needed.
What a wonderful cottage and the hosts Elaine and Martin must be thanked for making our stay so enjoyable. The welcome pack, log fire and hot tub were great for our mid October stay.
Corinne
Beautiful property in tranquil surroundings. We were made very welcome by our lovely hosts. We had a fantastic time. Thank you.
Great place to stay a lovely farmhouse very clean. Fantastic garden to relax in under the gazebo highly reccomend
Thank you Martin and Elaine. Both myself and the boys had a lovely time staying at your property. Everything was perfect. Thanks.
Ty Gwennol provided a fabulous base for us to explore Anglesey with its dramatic coastline and beautiful bays. It was peaceful and relaxing in its rural setting yet only a few minutes drive to the coast and local attractions. It was the perfect size for our multi generational family holiday with room to be apart and space to be together, both indoors and out. Martin & Elaine were the perfect hosts and we particularly appreciated their local knowledge and willingness to help when we had a car problem. We hope to return to this lovely cottage and to explore more of this beautiful area
Victoria
The cottage was perfect and we loved the hot tub where we enjoyed the beautiful views. WiFi was excellent very important if staying with teenagers!. We loved exploring Anglesey and Snowdonia. The owners were on hand but not obtrusive in any way. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing break.
We had a lovely stay at Ty Gwennol. The cottage was beautifully presented and Elaine and Martin such generous and considerate hosts.
Christopher
The property was fantastic, a gem tucked away in the countryside of Anglesey. Very clean and tidy no issues. Everywhere was spotless. The garden is enclosed so our dogs could roam free with no problem. The hot tub is amazing, we used it everyday. All facilities were first class. Thank you very much we will be back again.
Stephenie
Ty Gwennol is in a beautiful rural location which is very peaceful. Elaine and Martin, the owners, are on hand if there are any problems and are very friendly and informative of the area. The garden is one of the best secure dog friendly ones we have come across, not even our escaping springer spaniel could find a way out. The property itself is comfortable but the kitchen needs extra lighting as it is quite dark and extra cupboard space would be useful. The beds are very comfortable making for a good nights sleep. I would recommend Ty Gwennol to family and friends.
We had a fabulous stay at Ty Gwennol. Beautiful, spacious and well equipped cottage with a lovely garden. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only thing we found was that the listing of a nearby shop and pub was not accurate and you needed to drive to get anywhere. However it is a peaceful rural location and not far to drive to nearby beaches and towns. A really lovely stay, thank you Elaine and Martin.
This is the second time we have visited Ty Gwennol and if anything the standards are even higher than the first time we visited. Everything we were looking for was catered for! Elaine and Martin are amazing hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them so you can have an amazing holiday with the knowledge you are well looked after. We have two dogs and they just love the closed in garden, the hot tub is to die for! Thanks for a great holiday Lynn,John, Mandy Marley and Dylan Dog.
Denise
We had a wonderful stay at Ty Gwennol
Sylvia
Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. First time in Anglesey and we would definitely return to Ty Gwennol. Kitchen well provisioned and everything you could possibly need. Lovely finishing touches make it very welcoming. Hot tub was amazing and we used it every evening. Elaine and Martin were very friendly and helpful.
This is our 3rd stay at this lovely cottage . And each time its gets better .This time Elaine and Martin have constructed a beautiful out door eating area with a built in BBQ. This is a lovely chilling place where we were able to celebrate a lot of family good news . The cottage itself is equipped to a high standard and very comfortable . If there is anything missing the owners will do their utmost to provide. They are very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful . Its brilliant for dogs with a very secure tall fenced large garden, they had a fab time . Its an opportunity to get away from it all in the peacefulness of the beautiful Anglesey countryside. In fact we are looking at booking for next year . Thank you Elaine and Martin for a lovely family break we'll be back.
Teresa
Wonderful cottage and lovely host's. We will definitely be going back.
Kristen
Another fabulous visit to Ty Gwennol! Our second stay in this beautiful cottage did not disappoint. As always, the cottage was spotlessly clean, and very welcoming. The owners, Martin and Linda, had left some delicious treats for us, including a bottle of fizz which we enjoyed in the luxurious hot tub! We were so lucky with the weather again lots of sunshine to beckon us out into the beautiful garden. The local beaches are stunning, and our dogs just loved running along the sand and having a splash! Of all the holiday cottages we've ever stayed in and we have stayed in many!, this is by far the best, as are the lovely people who own it they couldn't be more welcoming if they tried. Martin even lit our fire as we are both useless! We will be visiting again soon thanks for having us!
A great place to stay, friendly owners, good location.
What a lovely place to stay and the hosts were super lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and look forward to it.
A very comfortable stay with the family to celebrate a birthday. The cottage is well positioned and very comfortable, equipped with everything you need. Thanks to the owners for the lovely welcome basket and warm hospitality.
What an amazing stay we have had. We loved every minute of Anglesey and it was just what our family needed. The location was great and we could get anywhere with in a short period of time. Martin and Elaine were amazing hosts and were on hand to help us anyway they could. We cant wait to return in June with our family! Thank you
Everything as described equipped beyond expectations. Delightful owners, excellent location.
We have had a truly wonderful stay in Anglesey, made more perfect by our hosts, Martin and Elaine. The property and location are amazing and a great location to explore the island. The cottage is beautiful and we will be coming back. X x x
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Garden was a fabulous size and very secure which was perfect for the children and dogs my son loved wondering around it finding the different types of fruit and the dogs loved running around the many scrubs and trees playing chase lovely and peaceful retreat ! Seems as though youre in the middle of nowhere but 5 min drive from anything youd need. Highly recommend.
Superb property in a fantastic setting owned by two lovely friendly people who did everything to make sure our stay was brilliant.
