Hen Gilfach Stable Reviews

Kathleen
The Stable was as described, cosy and warm. We were however disappointed with all external facilities. There were no sun loungers, only one garden chair, a second one was in pieces. We asked the owner for a second garden chair and we were provided with a basic folding wooden stand chair. Neither of the chairs were comfortable and so rendered the garden area unsuitable for sitting out. The access to the garden area is down stone steps without a handrail and the whole garden area was overgrown and neglected.
This is a beautiful place for one or two people with a nice secluded hot tub and a view of the cost. We will be going back so do not miss the chance to escape here.

We had a lovely stay, the Stable was perfect for our getaway. If there was one thing I would change, it would be the TV, it was far too high and we got neck ache watching the football. As we get older its quite painful on the neck watching a high TV. Tracey was very responsive when the smoke alarm battery needed changing which was much appreciated Thank you for a lovely stay!
Sky tv did not work
Its a great little place, very private and remote. Loved the hot tub and we was blessed with good weather. The stable cottage is very clean and it has everything you need. Kitchen works well and the shower was great. Its great for a get away, very relaxing
Sharron
Hot tub was lovely but should be within the booking price.
Beautiful and well kept accomodation in a fantastic location. We had a nice relaxing time able to unwind in the hot tub after coastal walks in the day.
We came for our honeymoon and it was just perfect exactly what we were after . .the hottub was amazing so private just what a newly married couple needed . We. Both have very busy jobs and the piece and quiet was idyllic. The bed was so comfy, the stables had everything we needed .... we did not want to go home . We will definitely be returning for our anniversary.
A lovely cosy stay in a beautiful little cottage.
The stables is a perfect place for relaxation. The accommodation is small but perfectly decorated with love and care. The hot tub made the stay even more memorable. The owner was very accommodating and extremely friendly.
Michelle
A lovely secluded spot with beautiful views. The cottage had everything you could need including little touch like cling film and foil, the things you don't think about when you go away! The hot tub was lovely too. I will visit again no doubt
Had such a lovely relaxed stay at the stable. Perfect little place. Super clean and decorated modern. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was amazing. Only issue for us was the hot tub lights....how do they switch on.....it was too dark in the evening to use. Also the location....quite off grid. The roads are not for the faint hearted. I wouldn't suggest any city cars down these tracks. We had some amazing food from local restraunts. Highly recommended booking a space at the lobster pot down in church bay. Thanks for having us stay.
Malcolm
We did have a few unforeseen problems but when Tracey got to know of them she was immediately on to rectifying them.
Michael
Lovely little bolt hole, for a short get away, due to locationage there were ... Lovely little bolt hole, for a short get away, due to locationage there were quiet a few spiders etc, but could only be expected, also when we arrived, there appeared to be a musty smell, but maybe that depends on last time was occupied, apart from those little things, it was very nice,
Barbara
Lovely, quite and welcoming

You are already dealing with the issues that have been raised. . the stable is not worthy of the photo's on your website we did not stay our full weeks holiday as we were very disappointed with it.
An absolutely lovely little cottage. Really well decorated, cosy, quiet. A really great job has been done to make the hot tub area secluded too. A brilliant stay.
Lovely location and the Stable has been converted to a good standard. Facilities are good and the small garden area with the hot tub is lovely in the afternoon, especially when sunny. Walks to the coast and local bays are well worth it, walking on the roads is ok as generally quiet. When booking did not realise the closeness of the other larger properties and the fact that the Stable is on the main entry track with the gardenhot tub area across from this. This was not a issue but would have been nice to know prior to coming. Kitchen utensils and crockery needs small changes, e.g. breakfaststandard glasses. Another suggestion is to make the directions to the property more simple, got lost first time.
Nicola
Thank you for an amazing stay . We found it lovely and clean .well maintained.the bed was very comfortable.the shower was amazing too .we also loved the hot tub really enjoyed the stay would highly recommend this lovely cottage.we will definitely be returning soon . Nicola and Adam.
Had a lovely three day stay at the Stable. Very comfortable place to stay with lots of lovely home comforts. Listing needs to explain the hot tub being across a small road as this was not expected. Tracey was on hand and responded very quickly when asked her help for minor issues.
Colette
We had an amazing romantic weekend away at the Hen Gilfach converted stable. The hot tub was amazing and we were even provided with bath robes to put on to walk out to it which is just across the path and it is situated in it's own private garden that is not overlooked. We had everything we needed. Lovely modern kitchen and bathroom. It is very remote but that was the attraction to be able to escape away for the weekend! Brilliant I would definitely recommend it.
The outside seating area and cushions around the hot tub was filthy and crawling with wood lice. The oven had not been cleaned ,had melted cheese etc on shelves. Need a bigger mat in shower as it's very slippy.
Graham
Lovely location with nice hot tub and everything you would need for a short stay except a wardrobe! Had an issue with the microwave and the bathroom mat got soaking very quickly due to water escaping past the glass screen or a leak. Otherwise had a brilliant stay.
Gareth
This amazing little gem was stunning in every way. Myself and my partner stayed here for 2 weeks and from day one it felt like home. The views were amazing, the accomodation second to none the added little touches made it the most relaxing, calm holiday we have had in years. The hot tub added to the serenity of the whole experience. Thank you Tracy, such a lovely host
Very bumpy dirt track down to properties but sea views were amazing. Property was very tastefully decorated with everything you need.Would stop for supplies on route as there is nowhere close by we could find to pick up milk, butter ect. Robes are available for hot tub but one was very badly stained so didnt use.Hot tub was across the lane from stable and down some very overgrown steps ,lovely big size but had all bits and sand on seats and floor which was a concern as to if it had been cleaned before our arrival. Lights not working around hot tub area which was a shame as it would have made the pretty little garden area more useable at night. Neither of us had phone signal with Vodafone or Tesco so lucky there was WiFi. Stripped bed on departure and was horrified to find the really comfy bed we had been sleeping on had a very badly stained mattress protector which should be replaced immediately. Stable was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay there but It needs more attention to details to make it perfect.
Perfect getawayfromitall break.
The Stable was lovely, very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views where beautiful and the hot tub was a real bonus. The coastal walks in the area where stunning, it is a beautiful place to visit with lots of dramatic coastline and pretty coves. In the summer it would be a swimmers paradise! 2 minor concerns, the bed needs a new mattress and the bedroom only has 2 usable plugs, so take an extension lead. Apart from that we had a wonderful stay.
Had a amazing time there and my first time in anglesey I couldn't of asked for a better place to stay everything was perfect after a day out exploring the island the hot tub was amazing to wind down in the bed was incredibly comfortable it was just amazing .
Beautiful beautiful stay! Not a bad word to say as we couldnt fault it. The host was very accommodating, there was even a card and some chocolates on arrival. Hot tub was lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. Must note that the directions are thorough for the area it is in. We recommend Church Bay for either during the day or evening for the sunset! Will definitely return, lots of more memories on the way for us there!
Callum
Me and my girlfriend stayed over for valentines. The property and surrounding was bliss, as well as a lovely bottle and chocolates upon arrival. The stable had everything we needed and the location was just a short walk from the coast. We will definitely be returning.
The stables is a perfect place for relaxation. The accommodation is small but perfectly decorated with love and care. The hot tub made the stay even more memorable. The owner was very accommodating and extremely friendly.
The Stable is small but tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable and the views are incredible. Beautiful bathroom pic needs updating to do it justice! and really comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely location but very close to another holiday cottage which is clearly geared up for kids. I was expecting the Stable to be isolated from other properties. The garden area is really lovely, unfortunately too chilly to sit out for long. Thanks for a lovely weekend.
George
Really warm and comfortable accommodation, even in December. As it is built on the side of a hill, it has protected from some of the weather, and even allowed it to be warm enough to use the spa. Lovely stay.
An excellent away from it all holiday for the two of us. We don't think we could have booked a better cottage. We had everything we needed The views were great. We had a fabulous meal at the Lobster Pot. Weather in North Wales in October was typically wet and windy but even this did not spoil a brilliant holiday.
The Stables were exactly as advertised, cosy, romantic, peaceful with a fantastic hot tub surrounded by fairy lights. The welcome gift of wine and chocolate was appreciated. The Stables is located in a remote part of Anglesey, perfect for our needs. The Wales Coastal Path was just a couple of KMs walk across the fields or a short drive to one of the bays with adequate car parking. Perfect getaway for two.
Elaine
Beautiful quiet setting. Property just as advertised, beautiful.
Hen Gilfach Stable was spotlessly clean, set in a beautiful location, very comfortable, like a home from home. The welcome gifts are a lovely touch and the hot tub was fab. We will be back next year! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday to recharge their batteries.
Perfect place to get away from it all.
The stable is so cute and romantic, perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The stable is so clean, the hot tub is amazing, you are in the middle of nowhere and its fantastic. Tracy is the perfect host!
