Originally an old shippon, this lovely cottage boasts traditional elements alongside a raft of modern features, including a sumptuous hot tub in the lawned garden.

As you enter through the kitchen, you are immediately struck by the quality of the accommodation. Walk through into the large sitting room with its fabulous woodburner nestling in a brick fireplace and you know that you are going to feel right at home.

The master bedroom leads off the sitting room, and the family bathroom is also on the ground floor, whilst upstairs are two cosy bedrooms. At the rear of the house is a large conservatory, which has underfloor heating and from where you can keep an eye on the children as they play in safety on the climbing frame and the swings, in the spacious lawned garden.

Alternatively, sit and relax with a good book as you watch the sun go down, or soak up the lovely views of the surrounding countryside and the Clwydian mountain range. Undoubtedly, the most popular part of the property is going to be the fabulous hot tub, where you can let your cares wash away as you sit beneath the stars in this idyllic and peaceful location.

The small village of Clocaenog is best known for the magnificent forest that bears its name and which runs to forty square miles. Pull on your walking boots or get out the mountain bikes and explore the woodland.

On the far side of the forest is Llyn Brenig, a beautiful reservoir which has a popular visitor centre and a wide selection of good walks. The market town of Ruthin is just a short drive and is home to a wide selection of high street and independent stores, as well as a fine selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Plas Cwtta Reviews

The cottage was lovely in a good location. Could do with a second bathroom for size and 6 people. Also a washing line would save using tumble dryer
Claire
Probably the most child and dog friendly place we have stayed! We all had a fantastic time. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and the hot tub is brilliant! The kids loved the climbing frame and swings. Prosecco and Welsh cakes on arrival were a lovely touch. We hope to return!

We've just returned from a 3 night break at Plas Cwtta. 5 adults spent the weekend here and we had a wonderful time. The cottage had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing, we used it a lot, it was beautiful at night watching it get dark with no light pollution. Obviously, only having one toilet downstairs can be tricky but it was only for the weekend and we managed. After all the rain the lawn was extremely wet and having our dog with us was difficult, trying not to get muddy paws in the cottage, we took towels and blankets for her. We enjoyed our stay in the area and explored some local walks and the town of Ruthin. Our hosts Adam and Katy were very helpful. All in all an excellent weekend.
Beautiful property and stunning location. Helpful and lovely owners. We had an amazing stay and we will absolutely go back again.

Weve just spent a 4 night stay at Plas Cwtta and it was absolutely beautiful. The cottage was stunning with plenty of room for two adults, four children and 3 small dogs. The location and outdoor space was exceptional! It was so lovely to be able to use the hot tub too. We honestly cannot recommend this property enough and cant wait to return. Adam and Katy were very friendly and helpful from start to end. The amenities for the kids are great, with a play area, two scooters, Wendy house and access to NetflixDVDs if required. It is beautifully furnished and has everything that you need for a relaxing stay.
Plas Cwtta is a beautiful cottage set in lovely surroundings. The hot tub is amazing especially for the dark skies experience. Adam and Katy are great hosts with a great knowledge of the area. We had a great time and will definitely visit again if we can.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage ,it was our second ... We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage ,it was our second visit & we will be returning again when able the Hosts are so friendly & kindly lent us a crate for our new puppy

Property not as described or as the pictures would portray. Cottage was very tired and in need of repair work. Poor standard of cleanliness, particularly the carpets and sofas in the main living area which were filthy and smelt awful. Black mould around most windows and doors too. Owners informed us it wouldnt be possible to clean the carpetssofas during our stay and have refused to compensate us had to vacate early due to uncleanliness and having an infant who was crawling everywhere. Complaint made to Sykes following our holiday, who havent supported our complaint and are now ignoring my emails. Terrible customer service. Will not use this company again.

Excellent, wellmaintained garden with big hot tub. Kids had a great time! spacious accommodation, very wellequipped. lovely hosts! Would highly recommend.
We had a great week! House and garden are great and suit our family needs perfect. Conservatory with full view of the garden makes the property. Will definitely be back!
Michael
We arrived to this lovely house, to be greeted by Prosecco and Welsh cakes. , the house was comfortable spacious , it had everything you would need , lovely gardens , and hot tub , couldnt of asked for anymore , we had a lovely time thankyou
Abhishek
Lovely spacious cottage. Lots of space in the house for our family of 6. Big garden was a huge plus and kids dog loved playing there. Adults loved the hot tub! Highly recommend this place.
A perfect place for peace and tranquility. The cottage is lovely, clean and comfortable. We had a very peaceful break, the cottage is nicely placed being near to amenities and lovely places to visit especially some forest walks but so peaceful when you arrive back and close the door. We spent a lot of time in the conservatory or in the garden watching the wildlife including rabbits playing on lawn, squirrel and birds. Fabulous secure garden for our dog and so nice to relax in the hot tub. Owners Katy and Adam were lovely. They were nearby but unobtrusive and helpful if required . Thank you for the Prosecco and Welsh cakes. This was our second visit and can not fault it
Wonderful country cottage in a beautiful area. Perfect retreat with dogs and children due to huge dog proof garden with play equipment. Solid floors in 3 rooms meant we felt comfortable bringing the dogs in after a walk, as it was easy to keep them off the carpeted areas. Beds were comfortable and everything of the highest quality. The hot tub was most relaxing and we were greeted with Welsh cakes and a good quality bottle of red wine, a lovely touch. The cottage is very private indeed and a great base for exploring the area, which has fantastic dog walking forests dotted around close by. Thank you Katy and Adam.
This is our fourth time to this beautiful cottage. We love coming here as once you close the gates we can let our dogs off their leads and they can race around the large garden having fun whilst we enjoy and relax in the big hot tub. The cottage has everything you need and is nice and spacious. Some beautiful walks around the area to and are very dog friendly.
Cheryl
Wonderful holiday home. Plenty of room, well stocked kitchen, large secure garden and the hot tub makes it a perfect getaway. Lots of places for dog walking and trail running nearby. Highly recommended.
Had a brilliant time at Plas Cwtta. Our 3 daughters loved being able to run around freely and spend time on the swings and slide. The Dog loved the massive open space and being able to run around freely due to the property being well enclosed. Plas Cwtta is within a nice driving distance from many attractions such as waterfalls, walks and beaches, so had plenty to do. The cottage was well equipped and the hot tub was perfect to relax in after a long day out. The owners are also very friendly and always available if you have any queries. Would definitely like to go back sometime in the future. Joe
The cottage was perfect. It had everything you needed plus more. Ive never been to a cottage this equipped before. The owners were very friendly and close by if you needed anything. We loved the hot tub. Everything was immaculate, we couldnt have asked for anything else. We would highly recommend to everyone.
Catherine
We stayed at Plas Cwtta 11722. What a wonderful place. Our 2 dogs loved the secure ,massive garden and were able to roam freely. The cottage was well equipped and the hot tub was great. The weather was hot and sunny, we all had a fantastic time. Thank you. Cath
Just home from a lovely stay at Plas Cwtta. The house is beautiful, lovely and clean. The garden is stunning, the weather was fab so we spent a lot of time sitting outside on the lovely garden furniture or in the conservatory watching the plenty of wildlife that the garden attracts. We seen squirrels, rabbits, many different birds and then of a night hedgehogs, bats and owls. We also loved seeing the sheep in the fields attached to the garden. A few were even feeling brave and tried to make friends with my dog! The views of the countryside are amazing and then of a night , sitting in the delightful hot tub and seeing nothing but stars was just breathtaking. The owners are lovely and really helpful. We really appreciated the wine and cakes they kindly gave us and they tasted great! There are some lovely forest walks not far from the cottage which are really good for dogs especially in the summer when the shade is needed at times. Overall we had a lovely stay and we are only sad we could not stay for longer.
Absolutely stunning cottage. Fabulous accommodation for our family of 5 and our Beagle. Beautiful secure gardens and lovely views. Everything you need is included in the cottage to ensure your stay is perfect. Spotlessly clean, lovely comfortable beds and terrific hot tub to round off each day. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again. Would recommend to anyone.
Barbara

Lovely, clean and well looked after property in a peaceful location. Youre well catered for inside the house, comfy beds and a large conservatory with a lovely view. The hot tub in the garden is a great bonus after a long day out and if youre taking your furry friends, the garden is very secure which gives peace of mind. Only a five minute drive from the village and in a good location to get to other areas if you wish to explore. Communication with the owners is very good and I would highly recommend Plas Cwtta.
Catherine
Comfortable stay with everything you might need provided and excellent communication with the owner. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory and the underfloor heating was a luxury. The hot tub is the best weve been in. Quiet and secluded location with some lovely views just on the doorstep. Prosecco and Welsh cakes gratefully received on arrival.
This was our second time staying here. We absolutely love this place. The hot tub is nice and big and the back garden is so spacious and secure, our Newfoundland has so much space to run around whilst were chilling in the hot tub. The cottage is always so clean and has everything you need. Thank you. We will be coming back again!
Beverley
Lovely cottage. Spacious and well equipped. Great location. Super garden for our dogs Loved it.
We booked this cottage as a last minute weekend away. It was so lovely, very relaxing and the views are amazing. Beds are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very private and an enclosed large garden for our dog to have a good run in. Loved the hot tub, secluded with fabulous views of the mountains and surrounding fields. Bottle of prosecco on our arrival was lovely too. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing time away from it all but close enough to shops, cafes and pubs all a short drive away.
Beyond amazing! The best holiday home weve ever been too. We were there for New Years Eve and what an experience. Could see the fireworks from the hot tub, stars at night. The dogs loved it, huge garden which is really secure. Walks all around the house. Really clean and fab facilities. Even left bottle of Prosecco and chocolates. What a beautiful home.
A lovely, dog friendly cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Spacious and well equipped, we really enjoyed our stay. Our dog love the garden and the walks nearby. The humans loved the many local dog friendly places to visit and would recommend the local community pub, restaurant and shop. Back at the cottage there is also the hot tub. What more could you ask for. Will go back and would also recommend the cottage as a wonderful place to stay.
We stayed here in November and we couldn't believe how lovely and clean it was. The owners also left us a nice bottle of Prosecco and a cake which was a lovely surprise. The garden was so big and secure so we were able to let the dogs run around whilst we were enjoying ourselves in the big hot tub. The kitchen has everything you need and they also have a fresh coffee maker which was a super bonus for us. The owners were always available if needed and super friendly. There are some amazing walks near by. And the local Indian takeaway is lovely as well. We cant wait to return at the beginning of March! Many thanks for making our stay so amazing.
Denise

Fabulous hot tub! Very clean, worked every time we used it. Lovely secluded location. Active owners.

Lovely cottage, helpful owners. The garden was great for the children and secure for the dog. Gorgeous views and peaceful walks. Ruthin is a very pretty town too, the park area was lovely on a hot day, paddling in the water.
