24 of us had an amazing week at Bodweni Hall to celebrate. Plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing and to come together to enjoy social time. Table accommodated all 24 for of us. The weather wasn't so kind to us but we played on the Lake and the river regardless. Swimming in the river was great.

Fantastic large house a few miles from Bala. The large amount of bedrooms and bathrooms made it an ideal location for our family of 22 to gather . The private lake and water sports equipment, along with the well equipped playground and indoor games room gave enough entertainment for all age groups. Meal times worked well with the large well equippeRead mored kitchen and large dining room comfortably seating us all. We also used the bbq. Communal seating was great outside but we missed this indoors. Hide

Despite atrocious weather, we really enjoyed Christmas week at Bodweni. The house was ideal, the facilities and equipment superb. The hot tub was well used even in stormy conditions. There was something for every one aged 13 to 87.

Andrew
We were very happy hear and intend to return in 3 or 4 years. It is a spacious, comfortable property set in beautiful grounds with lots of amenities (snooker, table tennis, pedalos, canoes) and walking within the grounds. The kitchen was generally well equipped and certainly big enough to cope with a large group. If you filled every bed you couldn' t all eat at the dining table; we managed 21, 24 would probably be the limit. The onsite caretaker is helpful and does his best to respond quickly
Anne-Marie

We had an amazing time at Bodweni Hall! The property is just incredible inside and out. We watched some of the world cup games in the cinema room, had a few games of pool in the games room and chilled out in the hot tub whilst enjoying the amazing views. There was so much to do! The property is nice and clean with a very well equipped kitchen. If y ou're looking at this review and thinking of booking, I would definitely recommend you go ahead. It's worth every penny, you won't be disappointed!
Michael
Just back from a week at Bodweni Hall celebrating a 60th Birthday. The house is wonderful and the location is ideal. The weather was against us (very wet) but the games room, cinema etc were enough to keep us all entertained. One sunny day and the pedalos on the lake were used and very much enjoyed. The hot tub was such decadence! Even the rain did n't put us off. The Groundsman, Melvyn was brilliant and always willing to help with any minor problem. Would definitely recommend.
David
We were a party of 20 celebrating our Golden Wedding. The property could not have been more perfect. The children loved the games and the cinema. The kitchen just had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful. If we had minor problems the owner responded to a text within minutes and a member of staff attended quickly. All in all we had a grea t week
Shona
Loved everything!! Was a perfect venue for a family gathering and the exceptional October weather added to a wonderful week away.
Elisabeth
Bodweni Hall is a fabulous house for a large group. We have been gathering as a family for 25 years now and this was the best we have been to when you factor in both house and grounds. We loved it! Can recommend The Sorbus Tree who have menu of delicious meals which can be delivered to heat up - each serving 10 with sides - if you want a break from cooking.
Kate
Stunning location, we swam in the lake every day! The picture windows show off the views superbly. Lots to do both inside and outside the house. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen.
Sharon
Fabulous property. The onside lake equipped with kayaks and pedalos, we all swam in the lake and had a great time. The property is big enough, 22 of us and we had plenty of space. The garden is massive with fab views. Some lovely walks nearby. The princess bedroom is very opulent but even the basic rooms were good. Downsides, the sitting area is a weird layout and not styled very well but to be honest we were having such a great time we barely noticed. Wish I could afford to come back.
Valerie
A fantastic house in a lovely location for our large family. Two lovely gentlemen looking after the grounds and equipment were very helpful, happy to chat and answer questions. A problem with the shower was quickly sorted after contacting David. There was something for everyone to enjoy. The hot tubs and boats were a real hit. The kitchen had everyt hing we needed. Drying wet clothes was a problem as the washer dryers unfortunately were not up to the job.
Nicola
This house is in the most amazing location, the outside space is absolutely perfect. The lake with all the pedalo's and Kayaks on is great fun. It has a lovely patio area with plenty of seating and really good size BBQ. The house is massive and the down stair space is great. The bedrooms are very basic, except the main suit which is massive, a chai r or a picture on the walls in the other bedrooms would be nice. This is clearly a house that is used by big parties and is getting a little tatty.
Christine
Just returned from family holiday age ranging from 3 months to 80 years! Weather wonderful, setting idyllic, accommodation very comfortable and spacious however house looks tired and would benefit from deep clean. Ideal for large family groups or parties. Lots to do in the area. We would definitely go again.
Helen
What a wonderful week! We were blessed with the weather, and the boats on the lake got a lot of use. We went on the walk to the disused railway tunnel which the dogs loved! The facilities were fantastic and we all made good use of the hot tubs, the cinema room and the games room! The kitchen was amazing, well equipped, and the dining room is impres sively grand. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. The decor could do with a touch up here and there, but it doesn't detract from the location
Sarah
Fantastic house for a large group or families, loads of space inside. The grounds, lake and river are amazing. The kitchen is really well equipped for catering en masse and the dining room was fantastic
Mark
Fabulous getaway for my birthday celebrations. Spectacular views across the lake, peaceful and secluded. Has everything you could want and great for large gatherings. Not 5 star rating but a good 4 star.
Robert
Bodweni Hall was the venue for my 60th Birthday celebration and what a venue it turned out to be! I can honestly say that everything was superb, The photos on the website cannot possibly do this place justice. We were lucky enough to have great weather, but even if the weather was not so good the cottage had many options for your entertainment, inc luding a cinema, board games, books and a games room I would definitely recommend Bodweni Hall for any large family gathering, you will not regret it.
Ann
My family & I (24 of us) have just returned home after a wonderful week at Bodweni Hall. There was so much space inside & outside the house for the children to enjoy. They had some great games of football, rounders & cricket. The bedrooms worked perfectly for us, the owner was very accommodating in the configuration of some of the beds. The views w ere amazing & everyone loved kayaking on the lake. The cinema & games rooms were a hit too with everyone. Highly recommended. Thank you David.
Lila
House and grounds very nice. We were a large group ranging in age from 92-7months. The boats were a great hit with the kids and adults. Lots of room for ball games. Games room also a great hit as well as the cinema room. Rooms all clean and comfortable. Kitchen & dining area great. We had an issue with the heating when we arrived but communication great and problem fixed promptly. Great time had by all! Location was beautiful
Charlotte
Stunning house! I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere so absolutely ideal for a mass family gathering. We were a hen do but all agreed how ace the place would be with kids too. A game of hide and seek could literally last the entirety of your break :-) Bala is a lovely little town too. Just a perfect few days. My only warning would be to anyone w ho was a very light sleeper, the geese by the lake are verbal to say the least, and that's 24/7. Wouldn't put me off going back though
carly
