The Lodge Reviews

We had a lovely time on our holiday at lodge. We visited barmouth beach, black rock sands and drove to Angel bay to see the seals! The property is lacking on a few things but was warm and comfortable (apart from the bed). The hot tub was a nice luxury and after walking all day helped with aching muscles.

Poor value for money, some of the furnishings need replacing with a miss match of styles thrown together and poor quality. Dirty dishes. Most of the garden chairs are broken. Fridge is broken and leaks. Cleaners turned up an hour after check in. Didn't risk using the hot tub. Gardens needs a good clearing and cutting back. Would not return nor rRead moreecommend. Hide

An extremely disappointing property, given the price. It seems in need of some TLC, and the attention to cleaning needs improving; there were masses of cobwebs and spiders, especially noticeable if one moved any furniture. We never even considered using the hot tub! Also there were no instructions, for anything! The internet is shocking, very, vRead moreery slow and intermittent; I notice that the property description on the site now highlights that this is slow (which I'm sure it didn't when I booked), but it is virtually non existent. The images on the site portray a light and airy environment; in truth it is dark and hemmed in. The dense foliage, whilst providing noise dampening from the main road, does mean that it is not possible to even see what the weather is doing (other than rain). Also given that the two patio door windows in the lounge are single glazed, I wouldn't fancy being here in winter. Overall the property wasn't what I would call cosy or comfortable, especially the sagging main bed! Hide

Enjoyed our week at The Lodge but might not have booked if wed known there are no walks direct from the accommodation which meant driving everywhere. Something we usually try to avoid. Lodge is beautiful but sits next to a busy, noisy (and fast!) main road. There is only a small freezer section in the fridge, so perhaps bear this in mind when pRead moreacking food for your holiday. Enclosed, private garden was perfect for the dog (and us) but promotional photos suggest there is an open aspect. There isnt. Comfortable, spacious and private, the Lodge is a great place to spend a week, but the location wasnt for us. Hide
Emma
Lovely cottage, very well equipped, peaceful location.
Sarah
A beautiful, comfortable cottage, equipped with everything you need to enjoy your holiday. You really get the feeling of been in the middle of the woods, you can hear the main road a little as your not that far from it but it doesn't stop you enjoying all birds singing. The hot tub was lovely. I wouldn't call the garden secure for dogs that want tRead moreo jump a 3 foot fence to explore but as our dogs are older now we were ok. Hide

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well maintained. Private location with parking. Perfect for our family of four and a dog
Karl
Appreciate it was an old gate house lodge but every room had a small family of cellar spiders living in it, these do not appear overnight, for example 6 x 5cm ones in one bedroom alone, which was fun trying to explain to the 6yr old it was OK to sleep in there. I'd suggest the property had not been "properly" cleaned for a while. The gardens weRead morere overgrown and untidy I had to clear up all the leaves before we could use the patio or bbq area. It was obvious no prep had been done before our arrival. But hey the gardener turned up on the last day around 830ish to clean it all and cut it back and lawns etc during our usage time not changeover which was a surprise whilst standing in my pants getting ready looking out the bug full length window. Oddly zero property information at the lodge just a laminated sign on the bed telling you to remove bedding at end of stay, no information on hot tub instructions or usage, not sure if the hot tub was serviced with chemicals during the stay, something I check after each use at home, bit odd for a week. All above a shame really otherwise it would have been perfect. Lovely place and location and well equipped. Hide

Had a brilliant time, we did have an issue with the electricity going off during our stay, one quick call to the helpline and they sorted it out..very impressed how they dealt with the matter...I think the young lady I spoke to was Natalie, whoever books through your firm has the reassurance that should anything happen you'll be in safe hands. Warm, clean and cosy secluded Lodge. Ideal location for easily exploring both sides of Llyn Peninsula. Well screened and enclosed garden and I imagine it's a great sun trap in the summer. Many thanks.
Martin
Truely lovely property in a wonderful location...hot tub was bliss, piano was fun to play and everything was really comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped. Couldnt fault it.
Janine
Cute property. Super helpful all being on one level, especially with children and a dog! House kept well, nice and clean upon arrival and a very generous welcome gift awaited us with the information folder (which was super helpful and even suggested some lovely places to visit). The location is great too.
Jean
The accommodation was nice but poor on kitchen equipment the front door was to be used in emergency only but nothing written down to say where the key was kept.
Robert
Comfortable and clean .Could do with a slightly bigger fridge but that would not be that important
Ruth
Ideal location for us. Very quiet. Beautiful wrap-around garden. All we could need inside and out and the location was very good for us. Welcome food treats were a lovely surprise! Well definitely be back!
Tanya
Really well presented cottage. Great location, quiet but very easy to get to beaches. Comfortable amount of space and secure garden. Have already booked another week in April.
Stephanie
We absolutely loved staying here! Fabulous location and super cosy and comfortable. The beds are amazingly comfortable, we have a chow chow which is a fair sized dog and he was fully enclosed not saying he wouldnt jump it, if need be but he was great all holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed this break and so did our 2 boys. We will be back! The Prosecco Read moreand cake was lovely upon arrival. The thing I loved most was not seeing anybody at all, no hassle, no stress, felt like my own home from home. Hide
