The Old Stable Reviews

A fantastic place great location being only a few minutes away from Conwy by car. Owners were really lovely and the place was fully equipped with everything we needed! The hot tub was prepared for us each night which was an unexpected bonus. Wed definitely stay here again.
Graham
One of the best maybe the best self catering properties we've ever stayed in. Comfortable, clean, and well cared for. Really well located only a couple of miles from ConwyA55, yet with the quietness & rural location that we enjoy. Really lovely & helpful owners as well.
Stuart
A delightful cottage with everything, and more, that you might need. We really enjoyed our break and would definitely recommend . Lovely to meet the owners too.
Sophie
We came to stay here last week to get a short break away and it was fantastic. Janet and John were brilliant hosts. Helping with the hot tub, putting on the heating for us on cold mornings and great communication if we needed any help with anything at the cottage. The cottage was spotless, cosy and felt like a home away from home. The hot tub was a great addition to the holiday, using it most nights. A perfect location for a relaxing break away with great access to historical sites and day trips around North Wales.
Nicola
We have just come back from a 6 night stay in the Old stable. What a beautiful cottage. Everything was perfectly in place and of high standard and taste. The owners were away but had family down to look after the house and cottage. They made us feel very welcome and arranged the hot tub every evening. We enjoyed meeting them and were quite sad to leave. The town on Conwy was a 5 min drive and the castle is well worth a visit. We went for a jazz evening at The Hayloft at Bodnant foods, this was beautiful and the food was amazing. Lots of great places to visit and walks to explore. We shall definitely be returning to stay at the Old Stable and can highly recommend.
Philip
Beautiful cottage shame we wasn't able to stay longer
The Old Stable had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the additional treats and would happily recommend it to others.
We enjoyed our stay at the old stable really clean and comfortable. John sorted hot tub for us for when we got back so was nice and warm. Good location and enjoyed throwing ball for tilly thanks for making us feel welcome.
Sykes Far and away the best experience weve had holidaying in the UK. Janet and John are incomparable as hosts warm, kind and attentive without being intrusive and the property is simply stunning perfect for a couple. Everything is very well maintained with all the modcons you need and the cottage is charming with a very cosy feel. The location is great as its not far at all from Conwy, meaning you are tucked away but also in easy distance of transport links, as well as Bangor and tourist spots like Snowdon if you are driving. Most days we could have just stayed in the cottage as it was like a home away from home. Absolutely recommend.
Alison
We had a lovely stay at the Old Stable. Janet & John were so helpful & on hand for anything we needed especially setting up the hot tub for our arrival. Lovely peaceful stay.
Adrian
The Old Stable was a charming property set in the beautiful countryside of North Wales. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, giving us plenty of information about walks, places to eat and attractions to visit. They were more than happy to help with instructions and tips for lighting the woodfired hot tub. We had a relaxing and very enjoyable holiday. Many thanks, Janet and John.
We had a lovely stay at the Old Stable. Janet and John were wonderful hosts and the accommodation was beautifully presented and very clean. Thoroughly recommend!
William
This has to be one of the best places we have stayed at, Janet and John are fabulous hosts and nothing was any trouble, the stables are just so relaxing with a magnificent hot tub perfect just to unwind. The stables were spotless and have everything you need to chill out, Conwy is only 2 miles away with lots of really nice restaurants and cafes , we cant wait to visit again as we had a great time.
This cottage is the nicest cottage we have stayed in, a credit to the owners, who are a lovely couple very helpful and nothing is to much trouble. The cottage is spotless and all the essentials are on hand They respect your privacy, but also very helpful if you need them and we enjoyed talking to them. The cottage is beautiful, we had 3 lovely nights sleep, very peaceful surroundings. The hot tub was very nice with a relaxing glass of wine and if you want total privacy just draw the curtains. Location perfect, short walks or longer to enjoy the surroundings. Conwy is about 2 mile drive away, nice pubs and restaurants. Two pubs which serve food 20min. or 40min walking distance from the cottage. We used the local taxi company one night, very good and reasonable. Yes we will definitely return.
Had a lovely stay here, one of the best properties we have stayed in. Cottage was very clean, well equipped with everything we needed and the bed was so comfortable. The owners Janet & John were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The cottage is in a good location for exploring North Wales. The hot tub was very welcoming after our climb up Snowdon which John kindly kept warm for our return. Would recommend and we will definitely return.
We had the best time. Fabulous hot tube and accommodation..Janet and John are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. I would highly recommend this beautiful little stable.
A relaxing and comfortable stay, we really enjoyed the cottage, it had all the facilities we required, the hotvtub was a great bonus for relaxing on an evening. A great location with plenty of local pathways and walks, good also for visits to Conwy and Llandudno. The owners were on hand next door for anything and were so helpful and Fri endly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We had an amazing stay at this cottage and the owners Janet and John were lovely. They were on hand if needed but left us alone to do our own thing, however, if they were around they were only too pleased to offer advice on where to go. The cottage itself was immaculate and the hot tub was easy to use. The location was slightly too far to walk into Conway and back but the taxi service was excellent. Were definitely going to return the near future.
Hannah
We had a lovely stay at The Old Stable and would 100 recommend. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything you could have wanted. The hot tub was great too. Looking forward to staying again in the future .
Harriet
We had a fabulous stay, we would highly recommend it
Charlotte
We loved our few nights staying here, it was a home away from home. The hot tub was amazing, and kept warm by the owners who live in the attached house, the cottage itself was incredibly clean and comfy. Would definitely love to stay again in the future
A well equipped and furnished property. Everything you could need. The owners were about if needed but certainly not intrusive. Well appointed for visiting North Wales area.Would definitely return if opportunity arises.
Michelle
We had a 4 night break at The Old Stable, I wish we could have had longer. The owners were absolutely amazing making us feel well at home and very welcome. They gave us all the privacy we needed and helped us when we wanted to use the wood fired hot tub which is equally amazing. It's super quiet and tranquil if you just want to chill out with a book and a glass of wine. The cottage is so clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's home from home. We will definitely be going back. Thank you so much Janet and Jon. We will see you again x
Fantastic break would like to return nextyear. Very nice people. Xxx
Elaina
The details of this cottage are misleading, the photos of the large garden are not for your use, this is the owners private garden, you only have use of a small courtyard garden. Also the hot tub is not included in the price, we were asked to pay an additional 50 to use the tub, which is also overlooked by the owners house, not very private!!! Very disappointing.
The owners are lovely and were extremely helpful. They have promised to update the property manual to include recommended walks for future stays. We were very comfortable for our weeks stay, despite the excessive wet weather.
It is a delightful cottage perfect in every way. The decorations and accessories are of very good taste every room is great we could not fault the interior. It was lovely to sit outside and view all around us. The owner is extremely pleasant and helpful
Such a lovely, clean, modern yet rustic, little place. Perfect setting, close to Conwy and Llandudno. Beautiful scenic walks, very friendly neighbours. Jan, the owner, was so lovely and welcoming. We really couldnt fault the place, people or location. We will be back for sure!
We have found our favourite hideaway place in North Wales. The Old Stable felt like a luxury to place to stay. The pictures on the website do not do it justice, as the cottage is far bigger than what it looks! The place could not be any cleaner. Everything feels new and so comfortable. you have everything you need as gif you were in your own home! The kitchen is stunning with a great dining table with beautiful views to the garden. Location is absolutely perfect with main towns at a 1015 minute drive and a great variety of nearby hiking experiences. The cottage is very easy to find and it has a little carpark right opposite. The hosts, Janet and John go far and beyond to provide their guests with a very positive and pleasant experience. We were greeted with lovely cakes and we were given some homegrown fruit and vegetables. Janet and John are so a great and friendly couple! We look forward to visiting again and I have already recommend the place to friends. Thanks you so much for such a lovely stay! Peter & Blanca Grindley
What a lovely comfortable cottage. It is in a quiet but convenient location. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. It is dog friendly and our dog certainly had a good time. No issue if you had forgotten anything as there was a basket with blankets, feeding bowls etc. We will definitely go again. Thank you for a lovely stay.
The hosts Janet and John couldn't have been more helpful . To my dog Harvey and myself.and were lovely .The cottage is really cosy and as a lone traveller I felt very very safe.
Stuart
Fantastic cottage. Everything we needed for a week away. Located in a beautiful part of Wales and ideally situated to explore the surrounding area. Janet and John were most helpful with local knowledge and informing us if anything was going on at the he property. 5 stars all round, definitely one we would return to.
The Old stable was really nice, very clean and comfortable. The location has the best of both worlds being very close to Conwy and the local beaches but set in a very scenic location with walks direct from the door. Janet and John are without doubt the most welcoming hosts we have ever met and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend.
Denise
Wonderful little property with helpful owners. Very comfortable, very well thought out with useful items provided in the kitchen that you might not have taken yourself, eg cling film to wrap your picnic in. Beautiful area in North Wales for walking and wildflowers and trees. We will think about going again later on. Janet sent us good travel directions to avoid roadworks in Conway. From Denny and Malcolm.
