It is a lovely cottage ideally situated for a nature break. The host have organised everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible: well maintained, clean house, full guide of activities and places to eat, and of course the hot tub was fantastic! The only downside is a little lack of privacy, as the cottage is right in-between the hosts garde n and their car park so there are some people walking around we had to close the curtains if we wanted to get changed or just feel more private

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street. Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. Lamas are gentle, affectionate and unique animals and Lama Trekking is fast becoming a popular family attraction. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.
