This stone barn conversion enjoys a truly rural location within the foothills of Blorenge Mountain, a peaceful setting that is perfect for families and groups of friends wanting to embrace the outdoors. About Tyddyn Pritchard

This stone barn conversion enjoys a truly rural location within the foothills of Blorenge Mountain, a peaceful setting that is perfect for families and groups of friends wanting to embrace the outdoors. Situated on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Clydach Gorge is a true hidden gem in the northwest of Monmouthshire, between Abergavenny and Brynmawr.

Part of the gorge is a national nature reserve, important for its ancient beech woods, birds and bats. There are numerous walks and trails to get around the gorge, including the scenic National Cycling Route 46.

Other attractions in the area include Blaenavon Iron Works (5 miles), The Big Pit (7 miles) and The Brecon Railway (13 miles), or you can explore the Brecon Beacons and stargaze until dawn. Visit the historic towns of Crickhowell and Abergavenny which are full of shops, pubs, eateries, galleries, museums and castles (10 miles).

Enjoying a rural setting with views across the surrounding hills and set behind a walled courtyard, this spacious barn offers a friendly welcome. Step inside to the main body of the barn where you will be pleasantly surprised with the vaulted ceilings and original beams, offering an open plan living space that works perfectly for family get togethers.

The space offers a cosy lounge area with a wood burner and TV, a contemporary kitchen with a central island that is great for morning coffee whilst planning your next adventure, and a dining room with a table and chairs for six enjoying courtyard views. The lounge area benefits from a mezzanine which is a great space for children, stocked with books and games and a desk for anyone needing to check emails.

Guests have the choice of three generously sized double bedrooms, along with a wet room and family bathroom. Outside, there is an enclosed courtyard with a private hot tub and a table and chairs.

Lovely accommodation. Spent long weekend with family including grandchildren who loved the play room. Quiet and peaceful but close to places of interest.

We had a lovely, comfortable holiday here - we would definitely return. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the hot tub after some long walks! WiFi worked well which kept the kids happy and kitchen has everything you need (except a dishwasher).

Lamas are gentle, affectionate and unique animals and Lama Trekking is fast becoming a popular family attraction. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available. 
Cantref Adventure Farm - LD3 8LR

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.
Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.
Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.
Queenswood Country Park - HR6 0PY

Queenswood Country Park has a stunning location offering panoramic views of the countryside. The area is abundant with wildlife and you can see how many species you can spot while enjoying the nature trails. The park also has a large children play area and a licensed café. Seasonal activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and at peak times of the year including Halloween events and crafting sessions as well as ranger led walks.
