This is a little gem....We were surprised how big it was as the photos don't do it justice. The owner is amazing and very accommodating . This was our fourth visit and we've already booked again for next year - that's how much we love this cottage. The owners are lovely and welcoming and the accommodation is perfect. It's well equipped and spacious, the bed is huge and really comfortable and the balcony and hot tub have one of the best views you could wish for. The paddock is fantast ic for dogs to run around in and the gardens are a delight. Lovely canal walks nearby and convenient shops and nice pubs in the village.

We are returning guests and are going to book again. We just love it. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is very comfortable and relaxing, and the bedroom is spacious. It is accessible for my husband as it is all on one level within the accommodation. We are so warmly welcomed and nothing is too much trouble . There are many local walks and we especially enjoyed the flat walks along the canal and the more strenuous walks up Sugar Loaf mountain, the Lonely Shepherd rock and the 4 Waterfalls. The hot tub was a welcome way to relax after our days outs, enjoying the beautiful scenery with a glass of wine. Lola loved playing ball in the secure paddock area.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street. Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.
