Old Chapel Reviews

Dorothy
The property itself was lovely clean and comfortable, however we were hoping to have lots of fun with the games but found many were either missing parts or needed replacing parts. The dartboard needs a light as it is very dark where currently placed, pool cues had loose tips and no ball for table football with many broken handles so could not be used at all. As a family we play lots of games and luckily we brought uno and other card games with us. Location is great for the castle and cathedral both which we enjoyed and the hot tub for resting our aching legs. We tend to book places with games as a must as we go out all day and play games at night so we were disappointed with the overall upkeep of this advertised attraction. One other thing the ground floor shower is very small and needs a little update to allow for normal size people to use it especially if as an older person you sleep in the ground floor bedroom which we did.
A super house for family and friends to be together. Lots of space and with the games room and hot tub lots to do. We only stayed a few nights and didnt even leave the house just enjoyed what it had to offer. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and family and we may very well book again.
We had a wonderful stay in the chapel celebrating two birthdays. Everything was so comfortable and clean and we definitely had enough utensils , crockery etc. We were a party of 6 adults 3 girls and a toddler who even had tears when we had to go. The hot pool was a bonus and was used despite the mixed weather. I would definitely recommend this cottage for a large family gathering.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Chapel. It catered for the whole family from 1.5 60 years old, and was such a lovely time bringing the family together. We all enjoyed the beautiful garden including the two dogs, games rooms and even went for some lovely walks. It was just a shame we couldnt have stayed longer.
Delightful house. ...it had everything we needed and more. We were 11 dog and had plenty of space. Everything was 'quality' and the Owners were welcoming. We would go again.
We have just had a lovely week as a family of 10! The property is beautiful in a lovely quiet location! The owner was on hand and checked in with us to see if everything was okay. We would definitely return!
Kelsie
This property was a home away from home. Everything was perfect & the owners have thought of everything you might need for your stay! The games room was a huge hit for everyone.

Absolutely beautiful House, surroundings and host. Every room is of high standard and luxury. We all loved every moment. Easy access to Lincoln centre and Antiques at Hemsworth. Will definitely come back.
We all had an absolutely fantastic weekend! The Old Chapel is a stunning house and Tom and Gilly were extremely helpful and able to answer to questions we had. The location was brilliant for the weekend and what we had planned! We will definitely keep in mind for the future! Thank you much
Bonnie
Our stay in Old Chapel was absolutely fantastic. We could not fault the factualities and the care that has been taken to make sure that so many useful and thoughtful additions are throughout the property. You have really thought of everything! We had a question about the sofa during our stay and you responded so quickly & helpfully to us which was amazing, you can tell that you really care about the home.
This is was an amazing property for a family get together, the games room and hot tub were both greatly used and appreciated by all.
Beautiful stunning house, plenty to do with the games room and hot tub. Would definitely recommend
Our family of 6 adults and 5 children had the most wonderful weekend at The Old Chapel. It was very clean and very well equipped and just perfect to celebrate a special birthday. Beds were so comfortable with lovely white bedding and there were plenty of towels. The kitchen was large with an easy to use range cooker and large fridge and very well equipped with plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware. The games room was a big hit with both the kids and adults and the piano was continually in use everyone had a tinkle as they passed. We have been to many cottage holidays and this was definitely one of the best it was beyond our expectations. Thank you Thomas & Gillian for a wonderful weekend.
Debbie
What a fabulous place. We all enjoyed our stay at the chapel. Tom the owner called round to see if everything was okay and we had what we needed which we thought was very thoughtful of him & the recommendations he gave re the takeaway & best place to go for Sunday lunch were top notch. There was plenty of rooms & space and the beds were very comfy. We spent many a happy hour in the games room and hot tub. Would highly recommend a stay at the old chapel. Thanks again Tom
I hired old chapel for a family weekend as we had lots of special birthdays in the family this year, mine being one of them as I turned 70. It was the perfect venue, and my children and grandchildren decorated the room and did me a lovely afternoon tea on the Sunday. It was spotlessly clean and the grandchildren enjoyed going in the hot tub. I would highly recommend old chapel for family get togethers it was just as described. We all had a lovely weekend.
We stayed here for 3 nights celebrating a 60th birthday. The house is amazing! Everything you could need, very well equipped! The games room and hot tub were also a big hit! Lots of hours spent in there! The owners are very accommodating and the bubbly went down a treat! Thank you! I'm sure we'll be back! Thank you again!
Fabulous house, very comfortable and well equipped. Very spacious and enjoyed our stay there. First night was very cold so could have done with blankets on the beds or the heating putting on earlier prior to arrival. Apart from that constructive point it was excellent!
Danielle
This was our second stay at the old chapel and it did not disappoint! The hot tub and games room were once again a big hit! This place has all the facilities you could need and the garden was perfectly secure for our four legged friend. Thank you Tom & Gilly!
Loved our stay at Old Chapel, beds were extremely comfortable, towels provided were clean and fluffy. We particularly enjoyed the games room in the roof and the views. The bottle of cava when we arrived was a nice touch too. Enjoyed the hot tub on the evening and the temperature was perfect! Our only gripe was the downstairs shower is VERY small unfortunately some of us guests were too big for it so it simply didnt get used which meant 11 people all sharing 2 showers. Lots of toilets so that all ok just the shower situation was a bit of an issue. Great friendly and helps hosts. Overall a fantastic stay and would recommend.
A fantastic week at the Old Chapel with family x6 adults, x2 dogs we all highly recommend! The property is really stunning spacious, quiet, private, comfy and homely which all made for a perfect relaxing week away. For us the games floor was a really special addition and gave us hours of fun, not forgetting the piano and hot tub! Lovely quiet walks nearby and a great choice of local pubs a short drive away. Thanks for a lovely stay!
We had a great time, its a nice base to discover North Lincolnshire, the hot tub was used daily and evenings were spent in friendly family rivalry in the games room , the dog loved doing her Zoomies in the garden , the owners are great and really friendly.
We had a wonderful holiday and the Old Chapels spacious and well equipped facilities were ideal for the rainy weather! There were eight of us, three generations of the family, with our dogs, and we had lots of fun celebrating a birthday. The Old Chapel is a really unique holiday cottage, full of lovely touches, and we would definitely recommend it for large group or family holidays
Old Chapel is a super House in a lovely Quiet area from The Fabulous Games Room to the very well used Hot TubTended to on a Daily Basis and Outdoor Games we were never short of things to entertain our Group of 560 year olds. This property is super spacious with a wonderful Cooking and Dining area with everything you could need in the well equipped Kitchen. We visited many places from Castles to Play areas, all in all a Great week that went far too soon.
We stayed 4 nights eight adults and 3 dogs to celebrate a family members birthday. Gilly the owner welcomed us on our first day and was available by phone if needed. The old chapel is so spacious, fantastically well equipped and comfortable the beds especially. The enclosed safe garden was perfect for the dogs to explore. The hot tub was appreciated by the younger members of our party. The games room provided hours of competitive fun! There are walks from the door, locals were extremely friendly. A circular walk to Ingham was particularly enjoyable. Nearest shop about 3 minutes drive away. As is common these days several of the surrounding pubs dont open some week days and restrict food to certain days however eating in was fine! The kitchen is a joy to cook in. Overall Id highly recommend The Old Chapelthank you Tom and Gilly.
This spacious and light property is set on the outskirts of a lovely quiet village and was ideal for our large family gathering, with plenty of parking space, a brilliant and well used games room, lots of indoor and outdoor games plus a lovely roomy hot tub set at just the right temperature. There is easy access to local pubs but we ate in situ for most of our meals and there is plenty of crockery etc. The kitchen and its appliances were well equipped to handle the needs of our large family. Each bedroom was spacious, as was the family upstairs bathroom all very clean and tidy with plenty of towels and pillows. The pleasant garden was very secure for our dog and we were not overlooked so had total privacy. The owners were really helpful and on hand in case we needed anything. Thank you for enabling us to have a memorable weekend!
We had the best time in the most amazing cottage. There was everything we needed and more. Everything was so spacious and clean. We would definitely go back again and would recommend it to our friends and family.
Many thanks Tom & Gilly for the wonderful stay at Old Chapel. A stunning property and there was plenty of room for the 3 generations of our family! The children loved the games room many games of Lincoln Monopoly and the hot tub. The enclosed garden was great for our wondering dog, with comfortable seating and beautiful planting. A lovely little village to walk the dog around and we met many of your very friendly neighbours. There was easy access for days out and would recommend Uncle Henry's for the farm shop and fairy trail. Many thanks
We have a lovely weekend at the Old Chapel. Great venue for a family gathering. Host were excellent and property was spacious, clean and well maintained.
Patricia
An ideal venue for a family 'get together' the games room and hot tub were much used as was the garden as we had super weather. Lovely walk from the Old Chapel past a Christmas tree farm and lake to a superb pub! Everything we needed inside too. I would recommend this property to everyone. Thank you Tom & Gilly
Fabulous property, we really enjoyed the hot tub and games room! Great place to get together as a family
Joanne
The old chapel was the perfect venue for my dads 70th family get together. The house is the perfect social space and the games room and hot tub an absolute bonus. Beautifully presented and well kept. The owners were on hand for everything we needed. I would highly recommend. Thank you
What an amazing place to stay! Absolutely loved our week here with all the family. Perfect base to explore local area with the City of Lincoln only a short drive away too. Highly recommend this property, with the games room and jacuzzi the highlight. Tom was also a great host. 10 out of 10 all round!
Fantastic , beautiful house! Perfect location for our family weekend together. The house is very comfortable and very spacious and in a nice peaceful location. The whole house is presented so well but the games room was the real highlight, its incredible! The hosts Tom and Gilly were great too and were really helpful to answer any queries we had during our stay. Would definitely return!!

We had a large family of 6 adults 5 children and 3 dogs and there was plenty of room. This lovely house is so well equipped there was nothing we needed. The bedrooms were so spacious and very tastefully decorated. Tom and Gilly the hosts were super helpful, always provided tips on great places to visit for dog walks and tips on the nice Pubs in the area .. The Dambusters is a must ! .. lovely welcome pack and visit from the hosts to make us feel comfortable and show us the ropes with the very cosy underfloor heating. Again a winter must ! .. An all round great place and such a lovely base to come back to after a long day out. The hot tub and games room was the biggest win for our family!! Would be back in a shot !
Absolutely beautiful property, comfy beds, underfloor heating, welcome package on arrival and the icing on the cake was the games room pool table, darts and football table with seating a bar and tv it was our favourite part of the house. The owner Tom was lovely he emailed me before we arrived with helpful details about our stay, he greeted us when we arrived and he maintained the hot tub throughout our stay. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Danielle

We had the most amazing time at The Old Chapel. The property is incredible, beautifully restored. The bedrooms were huge and beds were so comfortable. Facilities were great, hot tub and the most amazing games room were a hit with all. Tom and Gilly were superb hosts, fantastic communication from start to finish. Tom visited every day to clean and refill the hot tub. They literally thought of everything to ensure we had everything we needed. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. We will definitely be returning. Many thanks for sharing this beautiful home with us x
Excellent property, wonderful attentive owners. What a lovely property, will definitely stay again!
What a fabulous stay we had at the Old Chapel ! Stylish, spacious and very comfortable throughout. The kitchen was a delight to cook in extremely well equipped. The fully enclosed garden was super safe for our dogs who enjoyed pottering throughout the day. The hot tub was enjoyed by us all and Tom came everyday to check it for us. We enjoyed some lovely walks in the Wolds and a trip to Lincoln Cathedral was a must
Absolutely fantastic week at the Old Chapel! Tom and Gilly have created a fabulous home from home. The attention to detail and care for their guests is obvious. They really have thought of everything with extras including the garden games and the games upstairs which were great. We were lucky enough to enjoy stunning weather and Gilly went out of her way to source fans for us to help out boys sleep. The views are stunning and we were lucky enough to see the Red Arrows out practising a few times! Thank you Tom and Gilly we really hope to return x

Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 25 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.

Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 26 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
