The Dairy Barn Reviews

Andrew
Our third visit to the Dairy Barn and we couldnt wish for a better place to stay. Ideally situated for Lincoln and the wider Lincolnshire countryside
The accomodation and host themselves was excellent. It was a perfect stay! However. booking through Sykes is not a good idea. I could have got it 600 cheaper if I had booked through Air BnB. Book through Air BNB, avoid using Sykes.
Patricia
This is the best cottage we have ever stayed at with Sykes Cottages. The owners had thought of everything. They were excellent hosts and provided nice thoughtful touches like the welcome pack with bread, milk, wine and other local produce. The location was great for visiting Lincoln. We took the park and ride bus to the cathedral and castle and then walked down Steep Hill to the centre. We visited RAF Coningsby and did the tour of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hangar and the International Bomber Command Centre Museum at Lincoln. Both were very interesting and moving. Whilst sat out at the cottage the Red Arrows flew over practising and we were thrilled to watch their display. All in all it was an excellent holiday and we would highly recommend the cottage.
Lovely property, had everything that we needed and more. Plenty of nice touches to make it an enjoyable Christmas, and the welcome pack was really nice and thought out. Owner was really friendly and catered for any requests or queries we had.
Beautiful cottage with everything you need in a Lovely quiet village. Extras for your arrival were really thoughtful and owners are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this cottage to others and would book again.
Sharon
Dairy Barn is a beautiful, spacious cottage, furnished to a very high quality and equipped with everything you may need and more. The hot tub was an added bonus when you have been out exploring the area. The host Jayne is very helpful and accommodating.
Graham
Much more spacious than expected
WowWhat a simply wonderful cottage in a superb location. Great facilities and a lovely host, I couldnt ask for anything more. I would highly recommend this cottage. 5 Star!!
Caroline
A wonderfully equipped cottage with hot tub. Set in a pretty village north of Lincoln. Two pubs and a little shop close by. Jayne and Stewart have made every effort to make sure the cottage is comfortable and welcoming.
Andrew
The cottage is superbly located for exploring Lincoln and surrounding areas. Very quiet, yet still close to a pub! Would definitely return.
Alison
The Barn was lovely such nice individual touches made by Jayne and Stewart on our arrival. Immaculately clean and everything there for your comfort. The use of the hot tub every day was great we loved it. Jayne made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The comfort of the bed was brilliant. The village people were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend The Barn.
Lovely property in a lovely village and area
Michael
We Wish we had booked for a few more days , really enjoyed the cottage and its presentation , as did our two friends .
Rosalyn
The cottage was wonderful. It was so well presented inside and out. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. The owners were so nice making sure we had everything to ensure we had a great break
We had a wonderful holiday. The cottage is extremely well equipped with far more equipment than a typical holiday home. Very comfortable with good sized rooms. The owners are on site to deal with any questions or problems not that we had any though not in any way obtrusive. Excellent welcome gifts provided, including basic provisions and some little extras. Well located less than 10 miles north of Lincoln, in a peaceful village ideal for the quiet break we were looking for. There are two pubs in the village, although we only made use of one as it is directly across the road from the cottage with good food and friendly staff. Recently installed hot tub is excellent and the icing on the cake.
We stayed for 6 nights and it was for my husbands 60th birthday celebration. Due to the lockdown we had been unable to celebrate as planned so it was important to find somewhere special. Straight away on arrival we knew that the cottage was perfect. We have used Sykes cottage a number of times however the Dairy Barn exceeded all expectations and the photographs do not do the cottage justice. From the friendly welcome of the ownershosts to the most generous welcome pack we felt we would enjoy the holiday. The cottage is very well equipped with everything and more that you would require for living home from home. Lots of thoughts and extras to ensure the stay is as comfortable as it could be. Its large, roomy and comfortable. The outside sun trap is great for sitting and having breakfast and enjoying the quiet and village life, the most amazing hanging baskets adorn the whole of the cottage as well os the owners house. A hot tub was being delivered on the day we were leaving, I'm sure this will be most perfect in the setting as there is also a downstairs shower for use after being in the hot tub. A pub within a minutes walk and a local village shop only enhance the experience and everyone so pleasant and friendly. Secure parking within the grounds and an electric gate is just added benefits. Watching the red arrows practice overhead whilst having breakfast just adds to the experience.

The stunning grounds are abundant with wildlife as well as beautiful flora and fauna and there is no better place for a summer picnic. There is also plenty of open space for children to run around. Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 26 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 27 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 27 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
The Deep - HU1 4DP
about 29 Miles
Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
