Fern House Reviews

Emily Carter
We had a really lovely stay here. The house was spotless, comfyand thoughtfully stocked with quality stuff. The hot tub was a real treat! Despite being dog friendly, it smelled fresh and clean when we arrived, which was a nice surprise. Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing break.
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The cottage had everything we neededand the stair gate was a lifesaver for keeping the dogs safe. Loved the washing machine, perfect on those rainy days. It’s a bit of a trek to the beach for me, but overall, a lovely home from home experience.
Alex
Very well stocked and comfortable, definitely one of the best cottages!
Emma
Fern House is a fantastic spot for dog walks and exploring Cromer. The kitchen and furniture are top-notch, making it really comfortable, especially with elderly parents and retrievers. The hot tub was a lovely treat after long walks. We’d happily stay again-such a great place!
Emma

The place is stunning, with everything you’d need - from comfy beds to fully equipped kitchens. The bathrooms are lovely and spaciousand the secure garden was perfect for the dogs. Plus, the hot tub was just fantastic - definitely the highlight of our stay. Huge thanks to the owners for making it so special!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The place was super peaceful and only about a 20-minute walk into town, which was perfect. The sofas and beds were comfyand the walk-in shower with underfloor heating was a treat. The sunny garden with furniture made relaxing easy, especially with dogs around. Lovely spot!
Emma
We had a fantastic time at the cottage with the hot tub-really everything you could want and more! The place was spotless and super comfy, with each recliner so relaxing. We loved the variety of entertainment, from music and books to games and even a Wii. The town centre's parking and shops were handyand the beach was perfect for our dogs-so much space for them to run. Cromer, Overstrandand Great Yarmouth made great day trips. The Kings Head pub at Hoveton was a real highlight too. Absolutely loved it!
Emma Carter
Fern Cottage really impressed us! It’s modern, super comfortableand within easy walking distance to the beach and town. We’d definitely come back again!
Jamie
We had a great stay at this place. The new leather recliners made it super comfy to relax after a long 8-hour drive or a day out shopping and exploring. The hottub was a lovely bonus, perfect for unwinding. The town is just a mile walk awayand we enjoyed taking different routes each time. The lighthouse and cliff path are really close too. The main road is easy to get to from the street, very convenient!
Emma
Really enjoyed the stay, the house was spotless and warm. Hot tub was a big hit with us and the dogs!
James
The place was really lovely - nicely furnished and super comfy. We drove into Cromer, but walking back up took about 40 minutes. Thinking about booking a longer stay next year already!
Emma
Overall, we had a fantastic week! The house was really comfy, spotlessly cleanand had everything we needed. The only minor downside was the insects and leaves from the vines around the outdoor furniture. Maybe removing the vines or adding a parasol for shade could help. Still, a lovely stay and the welcome pack was a nice touch. Cheers!
James
Absolutely brilliant! We would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
Mark
We loved the cosy cottage, perfect for exploring with great walks nearby. Cromer’s town centre is charmingand the food at the Red Lion and Cromer Country Club was spot on. Lovely local butchers and bakers too!
Chris
We had a really lovely holiday, the space was greatand the garden was stunning. Everything we needed was there, plus the downstairs bathroom was spacious and the downstairs bedroom was really comfortable with a lovely bed!
Lucy
When we first saw the outside of the property, we felt a bit let down by its appearance, but once we stepped inside, we were really wowed by how nice it was! It’s such a pleasure to stay somewhere that has all the comforts we enjoy at homeand Fern House has them in abundance. The welcome pack with milk and biscuits was such a thoughtful gesture. The only downside for us was that it was a bit too far to walk into town, so we drove each day, which felt a bit limiting. Also, the parking spot was a bit tricky to navigate.
Sarah
We had a beautiful holiday yet again at this amazing holiday rental. Can’t wait to return in September for two weeks! xx
Sophie
Absolutely beautiful, clean, modern and exactly what we needed to make our stay perfect. The lovely touch with the shortbread biscuits was delightful, they went down a treat! The hot tub was just what we needed at the end of the day. Thank you so much and we will definitely be returning.
Clara
The cottage was really clean, comfortableand nicely furnished with plenty of extra items and amenities like bicycles and a high chair. We really appreciated the milk and orange juice. The garden has grape vines and apples! We didn't use the first floor, but the stairwell has a safety gate at the bottom to keep pets and little ones from trying to scurry up unattended. There's a small grocery about a 10-minute walk away and even more food options about a 20-minute walk towards Cromer. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!

Attractions Near Fern House

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained at Fern House itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 5 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 12 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 15 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 16 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 18 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 29 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
