This is a lovely cottage, very well situated for exploring both the Norfolk Broads and the coastline. It's completely private with no nearby neighbours, very comfortable and well equipped for 8 people. It has a lovely garden and we also hired the hot tub which was fun. Note that the staircases are very steep (especially to the second floor) and notRead more suitable for those less mobile or young children. Hide

Superb cottage in a great location. Extremely well equipped, we had everything we needed. Beautifully kept and secure garden which was ideal for our labrador. We loved the British White cows, tiny owls and the early morning sunrises from the upstairs windows. Not suitable for the infirm or young children because of staircases, otherwise excelleRead morent. Absolutely beautiful cottage, immaculately clean and very well equipped. Lots of period character but also every modern comfort such as smart lighting and heating. Everything had been thought of. Lots of lovely extra touches too such as very good quality bed linen and towels, toiletries included and so on. This is a beautiful property set in a pretty, rural location which is ideal for walks locally and also ideal for exploring Norfolks coastal towns and beaches. We enjoyed a really special time with our grown up children over the Christmas/new year holidays. There's plenty of space to spread out and also to come together. The owners have really Read morethought about the layout, equipment/fridges/washing machine/sound system to make it work. Lots of games to play and we hired the hot tub too which was fun. The open fire and wood stove were so cosy The finish and interiors are a high standard and the bedrooms had comfy beds and linen. The bedrooms were flexible and could be made in to twins/kings etc Worth noting that the staircases are not great for the less mobile, even still we'd highly recommend and would return time after time. Thank you Hide

My wife and I, plus children and grandchildren, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Manor Farm. It felt homely and was very comfortable. North Norfolk is not an area we knew well but the location of Manor Farm proved to be perfect; within easy reach were the Broads, the north Norfolk coastal towns and villages, Blickling Hall and Norwich. Its a lovely house in a rural location though close enough to Cromer and Norwich. The facilities are all to hand to enable the cooking of all your meals on site though the job is very fiddly to use. The cost is okay though not inexpensive

Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 8 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 11 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 12 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 13 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 20 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 22 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 23 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 24 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 25 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 28 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
