The Den, Bank Top Farm Reviews

My wife and I visited The Den on our minimoon in the Peak District The place was comfortable, clean, and well equipped with high quality furnishings and amenities We enjoyed the use of the hot tub and appreciated how accessible and private everything was Karl was so kind and understanding even despite a mistake we made with the TV. Thanks for the great stay! We will be recommending and likely to come back

We had a really lovely stay and Karl was an excellent host right down to the chilled Prosecco and fresh flowers. The only reason weve given 4 stars and not 5 is that, for us, we would have preferred a slightly more comfortable sofa it seemed to be more occasional seating and we found sitting for an evening was not the most relaxing. The other thing was the slightly limited clothes hanging space and somewhere to put bulky outdoor coats etc. where they didnt keep falling off the hooks! We are NOT nitpicking but hope you appreciate us drawing these things to your attention. All of the other facilities were of excellent quality, and everything you could possibly want was provided even down to an air fryer. We so enjoyed our brief stay. Hot tub was lovely. Thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay in this well kept, well equipped quiet location. The welcome pack of flowers and Prosecco was a lovely touch. As was the supply of milk, coffee and tea. The hot tub was relaxing after a day's walk in the countryside. We would stay again
We had a lovely weekend in this beautiful property . Karl was so welcoming and helpfull without being intrusive. Would highly recommend this cottage in a beautiful setting .Ashbourne is a beautiful place to visit and is only 10 minutes away.We will definitely be retuning .

A short break booked last minute for a birthday gift. The place was amazing and the host Karl was to, he is available all of the time but does not intrude he's physic I think, he showed us how to get in and out of the hottub of which I was very worried, but we needn't have it was amazing and helped or arthritis no end. The place it's self ours being the Den was 5star plus even to the point of asking a friend who travels alot to name something always something she needs lol she could not!! From a sieve to grater there is everything!!! On arrival there was also a bottle of bubbles, flowers tea coffee etc even milk in fridge. Everything about the break was 5 thanku Karl
Lovely peaceful setting, and a lovely owner who greeted us and showed us around when we arrived. Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen area and the hot tub was great. We may well be back to try one of the other properties!
Just had a wonderful holiday in Derbyshire staying in the Den at Bank Top Farm. We were made to feel very welcome even before the holiday when we spoke to Karl on the phone. Karl was there to meet us with a handshake on arrival and showed us around, we felt very looked after and he even had a complimentary chilled bottle of bubbly waiting for us. The cottage is a lovely base from which to explore the area, then return to a great hot tub and BBQ. The bed is comfortable and there is a lot of attention to detail throughout the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I'm sure we'll be back!
Karl was an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a bottle of fizz waiting for us as we arrived which I thought was a lovely touch. The place was clean and had everything you need. Attention to detail was spot on even down to having a fresh pint of milk waiting for us. Highly recommend Jayne and Scott
Karl was very welcoming and the Den was really clean and had everything we needed
We had the most incredible short break at The Den. The accommodation was absolutely stunning, well equipped and so clean. The hot tub was also a big hit! We cant thank the wonderful host Karl enough for making our stay so special. The personal greeting and little extras that Karl provided just added the icing to the cake and what was a wonderful little holiday. Cant wait to come back! Jodie and Richie

Me and my partner stayed at the Den and it was lovely. There was everything you needed, it was spotless on arrival & really cosy! The hot tub was great too. It is in a beautiful location, the booklet kept at the property provided us with things to do, places to eat and takeaways etc. The owner Karl was very attentive and made us feel welcome.

The Den is a cosy and lovely place to stay! We absolutely loved what they did with place. Everything that I expected and more. The hot tub was a hit with me and partner, we enjoyed spending our time in there and relaxing. Karl was an amazing host and provided us with a guide which was very helpful and informative. We used it all the time which was great, as we didnt know the area. Were already planning our next visit to Bank Top Farm!
It was our first time at The Den and we wasnt disappointed one bit. We were met by Karl who was very proud of his property and pointed out the complimentary bottle of Prosecco and flowers before explaining everything we needed to know including how to work the hot tub. The area is so peaceful yet there is plenty to do within a few miles away. We really only went to chill out and relax for the week so spent most of our time in The Den and even though its not a huge place we felt very comfortable and at home. I can definitely recommend the place and will return
Alexandra

Absolutely superb stay! Karl and his crew have an absolute gem and are excellent in everything you can think of in your stay. Christine and I had a 3night break and it was total rest and relaxation. The accommodation is top notch, facilities second to none and the hot tub was the highlight...a total indulgence! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really enjoyed talking to Karl as we were leaving...a nice touch, as he asked if anything could be added or we had any ideas on improvements. We would definitely recommend the break and the site for a relaxing getaway from the stresses of everyday life and look forward to our next visit! Keep up the good work Karl 'n' the Gang...5
Lovely Cottage and excellent host. Karl made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us, during our stay. Highly recommended by us.
Michael
Wonderful place to stay. This was our first break away for 5 years and booked this cottage on the strength of its recommendations and reviews. They were not wrong. Hot tub was lovely, clean and well maintained. Kitchen area was spotless as well as the bathroom. We didn't have any plans made about what to see and do however the folder left in the cottage gave us a few pointers and off we went. Local pubs were great and we would recommend 'The Shoulder of Mutton' as a great place for food. For visiting places Ashbourne was a nice town and make sure you visit Chatsworth House and Kedleston Hall. Not to mention Alton towers. Top notch service and support by Karl and Pip thanks to you both. We hope to see you again soon.
We stayed in The Den, Bank Top Farm in Mid August. We were met by Karl upon arrival, who was very welcoming and showed us around. The property is really nice and modern with everything you could want, the Hot hub was fantastic, clean, and relaxing. It was checked twice a day by Karl. We took our bikes and Karl kindly lent us a bike lock as well to secure the bikes. We had some amazing food during our stay at nearby Ashbourne, at the George and Dragon, Greenman, and Bowling Green, all can be recommended. Overall a great place to stay, recommended!
Denise

We came to the den for a little getaway from everyday life and to celebrate our engagement and it was just perfect. Karl the host greeted us on arrival with flowers and Prosecco and showed us around the den. The den had everything we could need and more. Karl even helped us out with a phone charger when ours stopped working. Honestly the den was just amazing and so was Karl. It was perfect from start to finish and we cant thank you enough and cant wait to come back again and tell our family and friends about it too.

WOW, What can we say. Karl made us so Welcome, It was a lovely gesture with Wine & Flowers, The Den accommodation was immaculate You could not wish for a nicer place to stay with quality equipment , everything was thought off. Hot tub was a added bonus after a long day out it was most welcoming. If you looking for a quiet place to stay then look no further. We had a really lovely time, and were really impressed with the facilities and the location. We'd love to come back and stay again. Thank you!
Angela
We had a fantastic stay at the Den, at Bank Top Farm. Karl, the owner has gone above and beyond to provide everything you would need for a relaxing week away. We were out walkingcycling most days and on returning to the Den the Hot Tub was an added bonus to relieve our aches and pains from so much exercise. Karl met us on the day we arrived and went through how to use everything, we even had a bottle of Prosseco that was chilling, ready for us. The only minor negative point is we didn't find the sofa particularly comfortable for 2 people to sit on, but would still give this property 10 out of 10 as everything else was perfect. Thank you Karl for making our week away perfect!
Timothy
This hot tub cottage is set in a lovely rural setting and close to all facilities. Ashbourne and the Tissington Trail are not far away. The cottage itself is furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The hot tub is a great feature and being December we were able to sit in the hot tub and watch the shooting stars as we had clear nights. The owner greeted us on arrival and clearly takes pride in ensuring his guests enjoy their stay. A great value cottage, would highly recommend.
Innett
