We had a fantastic few days staying in Hishope Cottage its truly a beautiful area and place to stay with everything and more that youd need. Flowers and cakes on arrival really made us feel special and is a lovely welcoming touch. Jayne is not intrusive but friendly and helpful and we highly recommend this if you want to relax and unwind and enjoy nature at its best.
Maggie
The cottage was beautiful. Clean, well equipped, comfortable and with a large enclosed garden for the dog. Has a wood burner for if it's chilly, and a separate, private enclosed area for the hot tub. The owner was lovely, she lit the hot tub so it would be warm for when I arrived. The cottage is on a farm and there are sheep just the other side of the wall, my small dog didn't bother about them. There were lots of nearby walks for the dog, and places to visit. It's a very quiet, peaceful area.
Margaret

Burnhill Cottages are great for a peaceful break away. Their location just out of Durham is a perfect base to explore the surrounding area.
Paul
Beautiful decor, extremely well equipped and the Hot tub simply made the stay perfect.
Andrew
Hisehope was comfy, homely, well equipped in a peaceful friendly environment, the cottage being on the same site as a farm did cause any issues (smells or noise) . It feels like you are miles from anywhere but there are lots of attractions within easy driving distance, Hexham, Adrain`s Wall, Vindolanda Roman excavations, Beamish, Gibside, just the few we visited. The log heated hot tub is easy to light and use, don't overheat it, it takes a long time to cool.
David
Lovely clean spacious cottage, friendly welcoming owners, large garden area for the dog, would highly recommend
Simon
A jewel. The unique history of the site is amazing. Then, the large lawn to rear and the hot tub make it all just worth it. Brilliant that what3words are provided to enable ease of locating the farm.
Mark
Fabulous holiday cottage in a peaceful countryside location but with lots to do and see within a short drive.
Julie
The property is equipped and furnished to the highest standards. It is very spacious and comfortable and the addition of the little shop to make emergency purchases was very valuable indeed, given its fairly remote (but beautiful) setting. Jayne made us very welcome and there was a hot tub ready to use on our arrival. The large shared garden was gr eatly appreciated by our dog and she even had some friends to play with on a couple of evenings. It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.
Alison
Hishope Cottage is the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in and we have had many many cottage breaks before. The hot tub and 4 poster bed was wonderful. We had awful weather all week but the lovely cottage facilities made up for it. The big safe garden was a joy for our dog Molly. Thankyou Jane!
