Maggie
Brilliant place to stay for family get together. Ideally located for a lovely 10/15 minute walk along the old railway line in to Keswick. Lovely and clean and having everything you need for your stay. Booked for the four time for next year 2025.
John
A fab house. We had a super time group of 16. Always have a week in the Lakes at this time. First time in Keswick. Overall it was very good and pleased to have stayed.
Josie
As a party of 12 we really enjoyed our stay at Hazelwood and loved the space and calm it provided for our holiday. Our children particularly loved the garden play area and huge lounge to play in!
Jake
Stunning property in a great location, perfect for all the family to enjoy!

A wonderful spacious rambling house, fabulous for a family get together! The house was clean, extremely comfortable, well equipped and beautiful, we had a lovely happy time and everything we needed was available. We all loved Hazelwood house. Very comfortable, spacious & well equipped. There was plenty loo roll, some cleaning stuff and dish tablets. The garden is lovely, plenty parking and nice outside seating area. The hottub took a while to heat so prepare this in planet time before you want to use it. Would definitely return.
Sam
The property was well equipped and a great location but we were provided conflicting information. For example we were told there was only 1 high chair available when in fact there were 2 in the property which meant we brought one with us unnecessarily. Having to leave the Aga oven all the time was dangerous with our group which included children anRead mored also meant the kitchen became too hot and uncomfortable to sit in. This house is absolutely perfect. There were 16 of us and the house was more than big enough. Its to a really high spec throughout with a really spacious kitchen with comfy seating area, large lounge and large dining room. Most bedrooms are en-suite. Excellent house, very roomy and in a good location. The nearby cycling and walking path meant it was easy to get into Keswick. The house was very well equipped. The log fire certainly pumped out the heat.
Patrick
What a great house. The location was perfect allowing all members of the group access to The Lakes during the day as well as being a perfect place to all get together in the evening. The house was absolutely beautiful throughout. Some of the rooms are still part of the ongoing refurbishment, but even still, these rooms were clean and tidy. Brilliant holiday let in a beautiful location - 5-10 minute walk into Keswick centre. Lovely big house for family or friends to get together.

A stunning location and house made for big family/groups. With a number of en-suites, it makes the perfect retreat. Comfortable, warm, cosy. Well cared for by the owners.

Roomy living, dining and cooking area to share cooking and socialising. Well equipped for cooking. Beds and sofas, chairs comfy. Great having most rooms en-suite. Great location and lovely walks from the door. Size of property is great for large groups, plenty of parking. Garden not dog or young children friendly as not secure. Hot tub not well maintained as it leaks and after only two uses goes green - also, gets extremely hot. At present very old showers, which arent the best.
Sarah
Fantastic location, outdoor space and downstairs rooms. Bedrooms were small and some were very small and in need of modernisation. AGA cooker not easy to use and needed a good clean. However, fantastic place for large group. We had 12 and for that size it was great nit sure how it would be for more .
Alan
I can't fault the cottage. Clean, well decorated close to town and lovely gardens.
Wayne
First impressions were good BUT cleanliness was lacking, the window on landing absolutely disgusting, dead Bees/Wasps/Flies just left there. The hot tub leaks and is a waste of time because it takes at least three hours to warm up, therefore by the time you return from your day out its too late to use. This house is in a great location for accessing local walks and the amenities of central Keswick (although it is on the junction of 2 busy roads). The grounds are lovely, and the accommodation was plentiful for our party of 18. The house is undergoing a process of refurbishment, which I'm sure will make it 4* when it is finished in 2024 - but that Read moredidn't help us in 2023! Very noisy, being right at the junction of two heavily trafficked roads. Furniture and fittings good.all interior woodwork needs repainting. Barbecue inadequate. Wood fired Hot tub very difficult to implement as it requires at least two hours of attention to get it suitable for use. Close to level pathway for access to town, ( c 20 mins)
Janet
A perfect centre to explore the northern lakes - mountains, lakes, parks, towns. A beautiful house for a large group. Great interior design. Spacious. Comfortable beds in all upstairs rooms. Comfortable furniture downstairs. Well equipped, well maintained and clean. Some traffic noise but effective double glazing. 17 of us at different times had a wonderful 80th birthday celebration. Good to choose different activities in different groups and return for an evening meal around the big table.
Carolyn
Lovely house for large family gatherings with plenty of space for everyone. Easy walk into Keswick on railway path from the door. Keswick is a good base for exploring this part of the Lakes & has good transport links to reach other National park locations. Plenty of beds, but the 4 in the attic are more suitable for children due to limited ceiling height & steep stairs!
Karen
Had a great time over the bank holiday weekend, 18 adults and one dog stayed here. Clean, comfy, full amenities, ample parking, great location, walking distance to Keswick Town. The only criticism is the garden isnt secure so caution with children and dogs as next to two busy main roads. The 2 bedrooms on the top floor loft space has a bathroom but no toilet so that was a bit of a pain.
Michelle
I cannot recommend this house enough. Myself and 17 friends have just stopped this last weekend. We were absolutely chuffed to bits with everything. The decor was 1st class especially downstairs. Lovely refurbished rooms and just a few bedrooms require a refurb but then it will be 100%. Its literally only 15 minute walk into Keswick. Brilliant. We have already booked for next year. We absolutely loved it and had the best time. Can't wait for next year already
Carol
Beautiful house in a great location with short walking distance to centre of town. Lots of space, fully equipped and functional. Pity it rained every day but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves
Maggie
Would highly recommend to friends with big families. Brilliant location to Keswick - never had to use the cars all weekend. Clean and also lovely and warm. Lots of space/rooms so if you want down time you could easily found an empty room.
Judith
Great position and good accommodation for a big group. Rather tired in terms of decor but refurbishment is ongoing. We will rebook.
Nanda
Hazelwood proved to be a good sized, well equipped Base for our stay; 5 Families: a total of 9 adults 8 children and 3 dogs! The renovations are well under way and we believe the Bedrooms will be renovated by next year, but the house was clean and fully functional. The Wood Fired Hot Tub was a lovely bonus.. once you get the hang of it. There is ea st access to local amenities many of which within walking distance (many dog friendly pubs in the area!!) We highly recommend!
Sandra
We stayed for 7 nights. This property was ideal for our family of 17 and 2 dogs. Although the attic bedrooms were chilly at night. The ground floor rooms were perfect for us to socialize in. An instruction book for the microwave would have been helpful. 2 large BBQ's worked well. The shower in bedroom 4 is dangerous as water leaked from unit and th en into the cleaners cupboard. We have reported it. Easy walk into Keswick along old railway line.
Rachel
We stayed for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. The house was spotless and warm and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen/conservatory area was a brilliant family space, where we spent most of our time. The table in the dining room was great and it was so lovely for 14 adults to be able to eat together. The kitchen was very well stocked and conta ined everything needed to cook for a big party. The location was great for Keswick and also Penrith. We would definitely book this house again.
Jennie
We had a wonderful week in Keswick. The property was the perfect size for our family. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean, the lounge areas very homely and the kitchen well equipped. It was quite difficult to get the hot tub to the right temperature but lovely once we sorted it. The location is excellent - easy to access from the motorwa y, on the edge of the town but with all the facilities easily accessible. Of course we came for the mountains - and they are hard to beat!
Peter
Fabulous location especially for getting into town (15-20 min walk). Property is delightful especially downstairs ...kitchen superbly stocked. Two fridges. Sociable areas were great. Beds comfy. Attic rooms have no toilet so be aware 4 single beds up there and not easy to come down in the middle of the night.
Felicity
A really gorgeous property in an elevated position within walking distance of town. Loved the communal areas and outside which was great for children and adults alike. So much space and comfort. The hot tub was an added bonus too. We had all stayed here previously - five years earlier, therefore it was brilliant to return. Hopefully, we can plan to come again in the future.
Louise
We had a lovely stay. Great location to local amenities with a short walk down the old railway tracks to keswick town. Great garden and a very comfortable atmosphere in the house with space to relax.
Jo
Really lovely house. Lots of space and the kitchen/seating area is particularly good. I have scored equipment down slightly simply as there were oven problems when we were there, now thats fixed it shouldnt be a problem! Location - we had 3 dogs and I would say the garden is not enclosed in a way that makes it safe for dogs, unless you have either an extremely obedient or elderly dog who wont poke through a perimeter! This was a shame as its a lovely house otherwise.
Judith
The accommodation & position great, & could have been great stay for our group of 11. However neither the Aga nor the immersion heater working so we had no hot water for 3 of our 4 days, plus inadequate cooking facilities and heating in the kitchen for all 4 days. These faults were known well before our visit but we were not warned about the proble ms. It took a lot of phone calls & a visit to office to get anything done. Could be great property if maintenance and customer service improve.
John A
Good accommodation for large family and friends groups, including their dogs. Good location for nearby Keswick. Excellent walking area within the Lake District
Gila
As the house is about to be totally refurbished its not worth mentioning the details. The location is absolutely perfect and the layout of the house is great for multi generational / multi family use. With some investment and improvements this house will be wonderful - we are keeping an eye out and considering a return visit once it is done up.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 7 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 7 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 11 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 21 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 29 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
