Number 43 Burnside Lodge Reviews

Jeanette
On arrival the accommodation had a smell coming up from the separation bathroom, so bad it was making us feel sick. We ended up putting disinfectant down all drains and keeping the fan on. As discussed the hot tub hadn't been cleaned on arrival. We were highly disappointed with this, especially as we have stayed at other accommodation and understand they should be emptied and refilled for all new occupants, which this hadn't. The accommodation was OK, think it needs some TLC. Feel gutted as I have never given poor feedback before.
What a wonderful lodge thank you for letting us stay, we really enjoyed it.

We had a pleasant stay at 43 Burnside Lodge. It was very well equipped, and comfortable, and the location of the park itself was ideal for all area's we were interested in for our week long walking holiday. I dislike having to give any negative feedback but feel I have to mention our disappointment on the cleanliness of the lodge. Although the towels bedding, worktops, and bathrooms were cleanapart from the grouting on tiles in the ensuite, the lodge had a fusty smell on our arrival, and looking at the cushions on the sofas, they could do with washing. The skirting boards were really dirty throuout the lodge and there were children's handprints on most of the windowswe didn't have children there. We also had to wash most the cutlery before using them. To me,these things should be checked and cleaned where necessary. The hot tub was a great addition, and we used it most evenings, and we really appreciated the prosecco and chocolates left by the owner. But,unfortunately,we probably wouldn't book again.
Stephanie
Great holiday and property. Hot tub was used every day by daughter. Good to see it checked regularly for chlorine level. Quiet site with no problems. Plenty of attractions to see nearby.
The lodge was lovely inside very clean and cosy, it had all the amenities you need and the beds were super comfy. The hot tub was fab and daily maintened but not very private but we stood the lid up to resolve that. The gifts left were a lovely touch. The play park was perfect for kids. The only little snags we had was the toilet seats in both bathrooms were a little wobbly, the showers were dismal and the smell of sewerage from the drains was not pleasant. But overall it was a perfectly situated base to explore Northumberland.
Dust, hair, everything you touched was sticking to your hands table, chairs, dishes, dirty shower tiles, clogged sink in the bathroom, in the second bathroom there was hair between the glass and the bath, most of them require deep cleaning, everything is only cleaned superficially, after when I entered the bedroom, I found garbage between the bed and the cabinet, the hot tub was very limited because only one level worked, the water was not the cleanest, someone checked the water every day and only added chlorine. .. comfortable beds and fresh bedding, fresh towels, very good gas stove, we did not use the washing machine or dishwasher. Due to the cleanliness of this house, our rating was significantly lower, as well as the feeling that we overpaid for this stay
What a wonderful lodge in a lovely setting. Facilities super. Short of nothing.loved the jacuzzi. Our only issues were dog hairs in lounge and a slight sewage smell outside. Would definitely return. !!!
Absolutely beautiful lodge, every appliance you would need, loved the little ... Absolutely beautiful lodge, every appliance you would need, loved the little personal touches, beds very comfortable ,lovely sight, would definitely book again, could I just add that we left our salt and pepper grinders in the cupboard,is there anyway you could post these back to us,we will obviously pay for postage and packaging
We had a lovely stay, sofas were well comfy, overall the lodge was nicely done out. The only thing letting it down was oven could have done with a clean and the roasting tins could do with replacing. Also the welcome booklet was falling apart, both issues could be rectified at very little cost. This is the second time we have used Sykes, this lodge was better than the one in Devon. Will definitely consider using Sykes again next year.
Rebecca
Perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Lovely quiet site with the lodge in a great position beside the stream. Well equipped lodge just like home from home. Hot tub was an added bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you
Caitlin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. It was lovely to see the stream along with wildlife off the balcony.it was a very tranquil setting. The bottle of fizz and shortbread were lovely touches too. WiFi and TV were easy to use. The hot tube was clean and easy to use and we enjoyed relaxing in it. Location wise it was just off the A1 and eat to get to Morpeth and Bamburgh and Seahouses. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

The holiday home was perfect. Very clean, a really lovely size and Heather was very helpful with communication beforehand. The lodge itself is situated in a great location next to the river and close to the playground so perfect for our family stay. The kids absolutely loved the hot tub and it was checked and cleaned every day. The lodge provided towels, hairdryer, games in the cupboard which came in very handy on a rainy day and lots of cleaning products. The bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch and appreciated. The holiday park is quiet and in a really handy location for exploring. All in all, we loved it and would definitely return in the future. Thanks Heather.
Geoffrey
The owner was quick to fix a first day problem, being very apologetic about a unforeseen issue. A very clean and comfortable lodge. Enjoying the wine and biscuits provided by the owner. Enjoying the hot tub. All these led to a very relaxing break

We had a lovely stay in the lodge just a few issues nothing major but a stain on main bedroom carpet the shower in bathroom above bath wasn't in good working order and the decking needs a good clean as it was green all over obviously due to the weather but over all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Angela
The lodge was lovely and had everything you would need. The site would have benefited from a shop selling the basics, bread, milk etc The main issue for us was the noise of the diggers and tractors all day,my son is autistic, which is why I chose this quiet site and this caused him major distress, so it was very disappointing for us
Richard
Everything you need for a break in the countryside. We all enjoyed the hot tub which overlooks the stream. Our dog was able to wander around the secure decking which was a plus as we could enjoy leaving the door open. Perfect location for trips to the sea and towns and are looking at returning as its ticks all the boxes for us.
Leeann
Fantastic weekend away. Everything you need is there and a lovely arrival gift of wine and chocolates. We will definitely be booking again.
Lovely accommodation Everything we needed was there. Hot tub was great. The site was quite but it was nice to go for a stroll over the bridge to the pub on the other site.
Sherryl
Everything was perfect. Lovely cosy lodge and the hot tub was amazing, even when the weather wasn't so kind. The lodge location is good as the hot tub is quite private if you use the hot tub cover in the right place and gives a great view of the stars on a clear night. Good central location for visiting Northumberland. We had a very enjoyable stay and our dog loved it.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay ar 43 Burneside Lodge, it's was in a lovely location, dog friendly, immaculately clean. The whole site is spotless and well looked after. Welcome gifts of chocolates and wine which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was maintained every day. Excellent!!
This lodge is beautiful, so homely and comfy, we had everything we could ask for, the hot tub was fantastic, the site is very well kept. In a great location too, we will definitely be back xx thankyou xx
A beautiful lodge in a fabulous spot on the park which was peaceful & private. Home from home. The hot tub was delightful & we used it everyday at least twice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our fur babies. The owners were a pleasure to deal with & we will certainly return again. Thank you.
We had an amazing stay for my partners 39th Birthday, the lodge was spotless, well equipped, and so comfortable, great location,Will Definatly be back. Only downside was there was a wasps nest underneath the decking which I dont think the owners are aware of? If this gets seen too we will be booking up again Many thanks
We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday in this beautiful lodge and the owners were so lovely too. Thank you
Angela
Had a lovely time and the holiday home was central to access a lot of amazing places. It was really cosy, clean and well equipped which made our stay great. Loved the hot tub and the scenery back drop from the enclosed decking which was safe and great for our dog. Much appreciated the welcome pack it was a lovely surprise.
Steven
Really enjoyed our stay, able to drop our cases and relax in the hot tub as soon as we arrived, its home from home. excellent location for touring Northumberland, site was clean and well maintained. Minor points, vacuum cleaner had to be emptied and filters cleaned before use and shower head in the main bathroom didn't work very well. however, these are very minor refinements and overall the property is fabulous and we will return without hesitation. Our dog settled in straight away too which was a bonus, he loved the enclosed veranda and was exhausted after all that running on the beautiful beaches. Thank you for the chocolates and wine, these were very welcome. We were impressed and comforted by how many dog friendly facilities there are, which meant we could eat out at ease and there was always a doggie treat awaiting. the Northumberland Arms was fab and even have a doggie menu. would highly recommend Burnside Lodge, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay as did we.
Another great stay at number 43 Burnside Lodge! Will definitely be returning!

Really enjoyed the holiday, the hot tub is very nice, plus set in a good location, asked the owners if they could turn the hot tub down! ! They come in about half hour!!! Thanks
Our stay at number 43 couldnt have been any nicer, the owner of this cabin has been fully kitted it out with everything youll need to make your stay as comfortable as possible, the hot tub is well positioned to provided privacy only overlooked be one neighbour, the cabin overlooks the site park on the other side and is ideal for anyone with young children. We totally enjoyed our stay and were very sad to leave Gary Paula
Lovely property with great amenities, good quiet location. Highly recommended. Most enjoyable stay
Samantha
We had a lovely time. The lodge was warm, clean and comfortable and it was in a good position to visit different areas of the national park. The only thing was that in the dark it was difficult to find the instructions to find it once you've arrived at the park could be a little more detailed follow the park road straight on, go past the clubhouse and the play park on the right and it's the first lodge on the right.
Excellent stay in lovely accommodation. Lovely site close to A1 but feel like your away from it all at the same time. Easy access to local amenities. Hot tub was fab too. Bar on site too which is always a bonus! X
Good location, to travel around area, site clean , close to a1 , the lodge was well furnished , clean and had everything we needed , made good use of the hot tub , would visit again .
Valerie
This is an excellently equipped lodge in a pleasant and quiet location. The beds are extremely comfortable and all the facilities are of a very high standard. The hot tub is well maintained and not overlooked, and the whole site is clean and attractive.
Cheryl
Wished we had stayed for longer. Beautifully presented lodge, fully equipped kitchen, and beds were extremely comfortable. The position on site was perfect, the hot tub and main decking area is not over looked and gets the sun all day. Very peaceful stay and the site is very well maintained. Highly recommended and would love to stay again.
Lots of cobwebs on the decking and garden furniture. Bedding didnt smell nice, sweaty smell so sprayed with dettox. An airer to dry towels would have been good. However overall lovely comfortable lodge lovely hot tub and great location. Would stay again.
Beverly
We really had a lively stay. The hot tub is in a great position. There are lots of great beaches near by. People were really friendly
Lovely spotlessly clean lodge with a lovely hot tub which we used every day. There was a little bridge we walked over with our dog so plenty walks and the lodge was handy for trips into Morpeth Alnwick Seahouses we would definitely consider it again.Theres a handy shop on site and its so peaceful it was lovely.
