We loved staying here! The cottage’s position at the edge of Kielder Water offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset. It’s super cosy and well-stocked, making it feel like a home away from home. The beds are comfy and the bedrooms overlook the lake, which is a real treat. The hot tub takes a little time to warm up, but totally worth the wait. Perfect for a peaceful, scenic escapeand we’ll definitely return!

We just spent a fantastic week at Otterstone cottageand honestly, it was exactly what we needed for a peaceful getaway. The location is stunning and super tranquil. The cottage feels really cosy and welcoming, especially the sitting room with the lovely fire-so warm and inviting. The views are absolutely breathtakingand the beds are incredibly comfortable; we slept like logs. The shower was a bit snug for my 6ft 1in son, but he enjoyed the bath instead. The hot tub took ages to warm up and was a bit tricky to keep hot, so we only used it a couple of times. Overall, a lovely stay and we’d definitely recommend it!

Charming place with stunning views

The cottage’s location is really nice and it’s got all the essentials. It’s a bit worn out in places and could do with some freshening up, but overall, it was cosy and we had a good time.
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay here, such a calm spot to unwind. The hot tub was perfect after those long walks. Thanks for a lovely break!

The location of this cottage is fantastic, with lovely views over Kielder Water. We really enjoyed seeing the osprey every day. Inside, it’s quite comfy, but the decor feels a bit out of date. The decking and plant pots definitely need some paintand adding some summer bedding plants would brighten things up. The garden could do with weeding and nettle removal. With a little update, this place could be truly fabulous!
Emma
This charming cottage is tucked away in a peaceful spot, perfect for a quiet getaway. The shower and bath are great, with plenty of hot water. The only thing is, the bathroom’s downstairs, so it’s not ideal at night. We’d come back!
Emma
The location was fantasticand the cottage had everything we needed. The wood burners made it so cosy during the colder evenings!
Charlotte
We stayed at the cottage recently and honestly, it was a mixed bag. It’s a bit tired inside, but very clean which we appreciated. The location is fantastic-amazing views and a spacious garden, so no worries about being overlooked. We loved watching ospreys catch fish and the sunsets-absolutely stunning! The midges started biting, but incense sticks helped keep them at bay. It’s a shame we couldn’t sit outside more, though, since the patio doors in the living room meant we could still enjoy the scenery from indoors. Overall, a lovely spot with some quirks!
Emma
Charming cottage with stunning views, peaceful location. The hot tub needs some time to warm up, but overall lovely!
Matt
We loved the cottage, it was spotlessly clean and really comfy. The hot tub was absolutely fantastic - we spent ages in it, especially enjoying the stunning views. We burned through all the logs for the fires and hot tub, definitely worth it! Only thing was, none of the pubs were open on Monday, but honestly, we didn't mind too much. Great stay!
Emma
Absolutely loved our weekend with the dog! The cottage was spot-onand the views were stunning. We’ve already booked for next year-can’t wait to come back again!
Emily
We had a lovely stay overall. The cottage was warm, spaciousand had everything we needed. Even with the unpredictable weather, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub (though it does take ages to heat up!). There are plenty of walks nearby, but watch out for the forestry trucks on the road-some drive pretty fast. It’s a shame the garden gate is locked, so we couldn’t explore the field to the dam. The dark skies and peaceful silence made it really special. We’d definitely come back!
Emma
We had a lovely time staying in this charming little cottage in Yarrow. It’s in such a great spot if you're into walking, cycling, or just escaping to the countryside. Our dog loved it too since everything was easy to keep cleanand he felt right at home. Despite the weather changing constantly, we stayed warm and cosy throughout. Honestly, we really enjoyed our stay here!
Emma
The place is fantastic! We’ve been twice now and definitely plan to return. The hosts, Margaret and Dave, were especially wonderful during the storm blackout. Can’t recommend them enough-really made our stay special. Thanks so much for everything!
Emily Carter
When we arrived, the weather was pretty foggy and drizzly, so we couldn’t get a good look at the surroundings right away. But once inside, the cottage felt super cosy and welcomingand it was surprisingly spacious. The next morning, waking up to those incredible views really took our breath away-simply stunning! The place is beautifully decorated and fully equipped, making it feel just like a home from home. We’ll definitely be returning!
James
This place is perfect for unwinding. Hanging out in the hot tub while the sun sets in the evening was just so calming and enjoyable. Definitely recommend if you need a break.
