Otterstone Cottage Reviews

The cottage is perfectly located at the foot of Kielder water with an outstanding view over the lake. It is very well equipped and is really warm and cosy. The view from the bedrooms is lovely and the beds are comfortable. The hot tub is great, though does take a bit to get up.to temperature but it's location as night falls is just wonderful. The wRead morealks from the house are also lovely. I highly recommend this property if you are after a quite, comfortable scenic retreat. Hide

All in all was great and would recommend Hide

Lovely cottage and beautiful location.
Craig
The cottage is in a lovely location and it has everything you could need, it is a bit tired and could do with a makeover but overall it was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Veronique
Lovely peaceful place to get away & relax. The hot tub is great after long walks, amazing views. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Robert
This cottage has a superb location and views over Kielder water. We loved watching the osprey which we saw daily. The cottage is dated and needs to be spruced up. Decking and plant containers needed painting as not done for a long time. Bedding plants would help in summer. Garden weeding and removal of nettles required. Comfortable inside but decorRead more a lil dated. Could be fabulous with a bit of updating. Hide
Steph
Lovely cottage in fabulous, peaceful location. Downside for people who need to use the loo in night might be that the bathroom is downstairs. Good shower and bath and loads of really hot water. Would definitely return
Linda
An excellent location. The cottage was well stocked with everything you would need. Wood burners added to the comfort on chilly nights.
Debra
The cottage was clean but tired. However, the location and views were perfect. The large garden was appreciated and you are not overlooked. Watching ospreys catching fish and the sunsets were highlights and delightful to be seen from the cottage. The midges were beginning their season, incense sticks kept them away, but being indoors was best at duRead moresk, which is a shame with such wonderful views, but the patio doors were a bonus in the living room to continue appreciating the view from inside. Lovely comfy cottage beautiful views, hot tub takes bit off work to heat, but lovely quiet and tranquil.
Brendan
Cottage and facilities were tremendous hot tub was out of this world we did use all of the logs on the fires and the hot tub. Cottage is immaculate really nice place to stay only downside was none of the pubs were open on the Monday but it meant we spent more time in the hot tub enjoying the magnificent scenery
Charlotte
We had an amazing weekend away with the dog. The cottage is perfect and the location and views were incredible. We have already booked another stay for next year.
June
We had a fantastic week with our dog. Although the weather wasn't great all the time, we managed to enjoy the hot tub (takes about 3 hours to heat up). There are numerous walks from the cottage but you do have to navigate a road (forestry trucks drive too fast!) for about 200m. It's a pity the garden gate is locked so you can't walk across the fielRead mored to the dam. The cottage is warm, spacious and well-equipped. The dark skies and silence were much appreciated. We'd definitely stay there again. Hide

We loved staying at this small cosy cottage in Yarrow. A perfect position if you love walking, cycling, or just being out in the sticks. The cottage was perfect for the dog too as it was easy to keep every thing clean and he felt perfectly at home there. We had every kind of weather from the moment we arrived but we felt warm and cosy the whole timRead moree. Loved being there. Hide

Absolutley love this place. This is it second visit, and will definately be going back again. Hosts were amazing especially during the blackout because of the storm. We could not recommend this enough. Thank you so much Margaret & Dave
Damian
The day I arrived at the cottage it was foggy and raining so I could not see the local area well. When I stepped inside the cottage felt welcoming and was very warm. It is deceptively spacious. On waking up the first morning and looking out I could not believe the views and location. Outstanding! The cottage is beautifully furnished and well equippRead moreed. It really did feel like a home away from home and I will be back. Hide

Laura
Lovely Cottage with scenic views. A lovely relaxing spot with hot tub and outdoor space. You can also take your fur babies.
Richard
The location is stunning with clear viws of the dam and Reservoir. And the night sky was superb.
Jenny
Beautiful cottage overlooking Kielder Water. Lovely seating area off the lounge area to admire the views from. Location nice and quiet but shops within 20 minutes drive. Wood fired hot tub, easy to use but first heat up took about 6 hours, after that it was ready to use after about 1/2 hours heating.
Stephen
Lovely period property with amazing views over the reservoir. Ideally located for walking and cycling the trails and paths around Kielder Water. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Sarah
The cottage is fabulous and cosy with amazing views. It had everything we needed and would recommend. Great for time out and relaxing and great for walks around the reserve or to the pub :)
Sarah
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Very welcoming, exceptionally well equipped. Despite it being snowy, it was cozy. If you want peace, quiet and a very rural location, this is your place. Thankyou, loved it!
Gail
This is a beautiful cottage right at the heart of kielder. The views are stunning, and at night the sky is an absolute wonder because of its location. There are easy tranquil walks. The cottage has everything you need, it's cosy and the hosts are exceptional. We can't wait for our next visit. Thank you for your hospitality, you really made our holi day
Alison
