Starwood Reviews

Andrew
Fantastic lodge, my partner and I go to at least one a year and this is the first time weve both wanted to go back to same one, Everything about this lodge is brilliant the pictures dont do it justice. I will be coming back to this lodge! Hopefully sooner rather than later with a weekend stay! Strongly advise anybody looking for a lodge in Norhumberland to stay here!
Beautiful property, close to lots of things, WiFi did not work at all and lights in kitchen were intermittent, at best, but we were told WiFi could be iffy and messaged owner about the lights. Would, and have, recommended!
Steven
Firstly, this is a true and authentic log cabin which had a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. The grounds were expansive and totally private and had a feel of being in the middle of the countryside. Even though there were two days of torrential rain, we were able to sit on the back porch to enjoy our coffee wine and not feel we were confined to indoors which was a positive aspect to the cabin. The living area is very spacious and relaxing with underfloor heating, so lovely walking around in just socks or barefoot. The kitchen was very well equipped with cooking utensils and also some cleaning products great as Id forgotten some. All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and we are looking forward to returning in June.
We had issues with the kitchen lights which we had to reset using the fuse boxapparently fixed the week before both toilet seats were held on by one fixing, shower in main bedroom coldwaiting for part. Main bathroom bath tap not very clean and shower head the same. Noticed lots of cobwebs in both bathrooms and high up in the living roomso whoever cleans doesnt vacuum these up. The garden space was ok but I had to remove a dead bird before my dogs could get to it. So safe to say we never used the showers or bath or hot tub for that matter. On the first morning we both were itching from the bed so made the decision to pack up and return home so we will not be returning to Starwood again. I did let the owner know when he rang me about an electrician been sourced for the light so overall not a very good experience and for the price we paid NOT good valueDoubt we will get any money back and if notlesson learnt..
What an absolute gem. You wouldnt know you were on a leisure park once you walk through the gate. The lodge is stunning, everything you need and much more. The private grounds are perfect for all the family especially the dogs. Hot tub to boot, which is maintained daily. Located as a perfect base for exploring Northumberland. We will definitely be back at Starwood.

I have a number of observations re Starwood and the site. There are obviously some issues with the water supply on site. We were unable to utilise the showers early mornings as the tanking system used apparently has had a fault for some time with no or very little water pressure. With Starwood itself there was an issue with the main toilet. We were unable to flush. The owner was advised but he was unable to arrange a fix. As this was an issue I was forced to undertake a repair. It wasn't difficult but not what I was looking to do. In addition the outside space could do with a bit of care and attention as it wasn't really condusive for outside entertainment, and I believe the site has banned the use of BBQ,s. Finally a little more attention to the general cleaning of the cabin would not go amiss or cleaning under the beds as an example. Sorry to go on but the cabin has the potential to be excellent and we had a very good holiday. Regards Marguerite and Ken

Absolutely perfect for us. Our own little secure woodland to keep the pooch cool in the hot weather. Beautifully presented, secure private, garden and hot tub, less than 15 minutes away from glorious sandy beaches and Stunning coastline . We will definitely return, I am sure we would enjoy it just as much in the wintertime ..one of the best log cabinhot tub holidays we've had, and we do at least 4 each year!

Lovely stay and Justin was great. 10am check out was a bit of a rush and maybe the kitchen cooking utensils need adding to. Warm comfortable and nice and private, we loved it. Thank you

Met up with the chap, who kindly showed us around. Very welcoming and helpful.
Great lodge in a perfect location for exploring Northumberland, our favourite place in the UK. Dog friendly good sized secure garden which you dont usually get at a lodge. Hot tub, wifi, bar and restaurant on site if you like to go out. Nothing at all to complain about. Justin the owner is excellent. Delighted to have found this place and will be back.
Lovely lodge, hot tub was lovely and the lodge is spotless with comfy beds but no tv in bedroom anymore didn't bother us though. Lovely park to stay on with nice pub on site and good dog walks.

Lovely large lodge with a hot tub. Overall the property was as listed but there was no smart tv in the second bedroom. The heating was adequate but couldnt be adjusted so during the day the bathrooms bedrooms were chilly but ideal for sleeping in & the beds were really comfy. The ensuite shower was bigger better than the power shower but it was difficult to adjust the temperature. Overall a lovely large property to enjoy & relax in. The owner was friendly & gave us some good tips on where to visit.
Just spent a lovely week at Starwood. The property is immaculate and extremely comfortable, have visited Felmoor many times but this was by far the best property we've stayed in. The beds were super comfy and the lounge with the 65 TV and reclining sofa made the evenings extremely enjoyable. Facilities were top notch and we both could quite comfortably live there! The weather wasn't the best it was March in Northumberland so can't expect anything else to be fair but thankfully we always take a pop up gazebo so we can enjoy the hot tub whatever the weather. All in all a really lovely relaxing week and we will most definitely be going back!
Amazing lodge! We came here for our anniversary and was amazed with the stay. There was plenty to do at the lodge and also lots nearby if you wanted to adventure out. Cant say how much i enjoyed the stay and will certainly be coming back

Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
